Role Overview

• You will be responsible for the operational delivery of on-air fundraising appeals, including briefing documents, promotional materials, and donation incentives.
• You will review and implement the use of impact audio from on-air appeals, coach presenters during appeals, and manage the On-Air Testimony Producer who secures live donor calls.
• You will be a key contributor to Premier’s on-air fundraising programme, overseeing monthly on-air fundraising messaging, script writing, production, and traffic scheduling.

About the Brent Centre for Young People (BCYP)

The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. We offer specialised treatment in the areas of depression, suicide prevention, tackling self-harm, eating disorders, exam anxiety and more. Our approach is rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We aim to reach significantly more young people in the years ahead, drawing on our heritage that combines specialist treatment in-house and outreach into communities. The Brent Centre is also an important Research Centre on Adolescent Breakdown and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.

In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. We are looking for a fundraiser with at least three to four years of experience in identifying prospects and grant-writing, and who has experienced success in securing funds. As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.

 About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Skills in partnership management and market assessment in relation to overall positioning with partners.
• Experience, interest and knowledge of current thinking and future trends and thorough understanding of international development issues.
• Proven experience of providing creative and innovative approaches in developing new initiatives that contribute towards partnership objectives.
• Experience in relationship management, working with Governments, donors, trusts and foundations, or equally demanding partners.
• Experience of undertaking industry trend and donor specific research, finding relevant, reliable, and up to date information quickly.

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Fundraising Compliance Manager to ensure our face-to-face fundraising activities remain ethical, legal, and aligned with industry best practices. We are committed to ensuring we have the highest compliance standards for our fundraisers and have created this additional role in our team.  

Key Responsibilities

• Managing fundraising compliance across telephone and face to face fundraising activities.  
• Supporting on wider compliance measure across the Charity. 
• Conducting regular audits and risk assessments of fundraising teams and agencies, providing guidance and training to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. 
• Developing and delivering of audit trails of third-party agency activity, including site bookings and fundraiser recruitment. 
• Tracking and reporting on complaints and collaborating with the Senior Supporter Relations Care Manager.  
• Producing regular reports to share with the Fundraising Leadership Team and Trustees outlining Compliance actions and areas for improvement. This role is focused on compliance, but you will also get involved in training activities.  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Significant experience working within fundraising compliance. 
• Substantial knowledge of the Fundraising Code of Practice. 
• Understanding of gambling commission legislation in relation to charity lotteries. 
• Experience writing compliance reports. 
• Understanding of GDPR regulations.

This role sits within the Digital Section in the Communications Directorate, reporting into the Digital Marketing & Fundraising Manager. You will work within an ambitious and passionate digital team and across the organisation to develop our holistic digital strategy through the oversight and management of digital channels, plans, and schedules, and by implementing the plans as well as empowering the teams to manage their own digital campaigns.

The post holder will also provide training to teams as part of our objective to upskill the organisation. The post holder will also be responsible for finding opportunities to generate leads and push new and innovative ideas.

Join the National Portrait's Gallery’s Development team as Fundraising Manager, Grants. You'll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager to support the delivery of an ambitious and exciting fundraising programme and raise income through grant-giving bodies, including Trusts and Foundations, statutory funders, and corporate foundations.

The postholder will seek to secure critical support for budget-relieving activity taking place across the Gallery, including learning and engagement and exhibitions, as well as support for acquisitions, special projects, and capital works. They will make a significant contribution to ensuring exemplary relationships with grant-makers and their representatives, and actively cultivate prospects to increase support for the Gallery.

The Fundraising Manager, Grants will work with the Senior Fundraising Manager, Grants and Legacy Giving to develop and implement a strategy for grants fundraising and support ongoing stewardship of funder relationships.

The postholder will also support the Gallery’s ambition to grow legacy giving as part of the wider team objectives.

Key Experience, Skills and Criteria:

Essential

• Proven track record of soliciting donations from Trusts and Foundations, and statutory funders.

 You will lead all on-air fundraising efforts, including the Charity of the Year appeal, working closely with content teams and  external consultants to creatively engage our audience.

As a Fundraising Manager you will:

• Be responsible for the operational delivery of on-air fundraising appeals, including briefing documents, promotional materials, and donation incentives. 
• Review and implement the use of impact audio from on-air appeals, coach presenters during appeals, and manage the On-Air Testimony Producer who secures live donor calls.
