The Individual Giving and Legacies Manager role sits within the charity’s Public Fundraising team, which as well as Individual Giving, Legacies and In-Memory Fundraising, includes Events and Community Fundraising.

You will lead the growth of our Individual Giving programme, bringing new donors on board across traditional and digital streams. You will also lead our small legacy programme, which has huge ambition for growth; maximising the opportunities available to encourage new and current supporters to leave a gift in their Will. You will be responsible for any legacy administration, working alongside internal and external parties to ensure that all estates are correctly administered, and that we realise the full value of the legacies left to Cure Parkinson’s.

You will be working with supporters to answer their questions about legacy and in-memory giving, and working with the next of kin to ensure that their loved one's legacy is cherished.

We are looking for a creative thinker that has enthusiasm and motivation to lead these areas of work. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as being a collaborative team member. You will be supported by the Head of Public Fundraising to achieve transformational results across Individual Giving and Legacies. And ultimately you will be contributing towards changing the future for people living with Parkinson’s across the world.

The Principal duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

Governance 

Ensuring that the charity is legally compliant, compliant with requirements of the Charity Commission and has the correct insurances in place for the charity’s activities and that these are reviewed annually.

Financial

Ensure that income is maintained, expenditure controlled in line with budgets and potential risks are identified and managed

Draw up an annual budget for approval by Trustees

Liaise with appointed bookkeeper, ensuring timely payment of bills, invoicing for services, chasing of invoices for payment and maintenance of petty cash systems

Prepare contracts, apply for tenders, negotiate and agree contracts, service level agreements and acknowledge receipt of funds as required.

Oversee expenditure and management accounts ensuring that income and expenditure is monitored and reported quarterly to Trustees

Organise independent examination of accounts with appointed accountant

Review and make recommendations to maintain or change arrangements with accountants, bookkeepers and payroll service providers. 

Income Generation

Develop income generation strategies to maintain and enhance levels of funding from existing sources and develop new funding streams

Work closely with and provide support to the Fundraising Officer on funding applications to ensure continuous and sufficient income

Work closely with the Co-Director of Operations to ensure that monitoring reports are submitted to funders in line with requirements.

HR 

Recruit staff as required 

Support and supervise Administration and Fundraising Officers

Ensure HR policies, procedures and staff contracts are relevant and reviewed regularly to ensure they are fit for purpose. 

Promotion of Charity

Maintain effective networks with supporters and stakeholders

Network externally and develop partnerships to improve impact and sustainability

Ensure charity is presented in an appropriate and professional manner to its stakeholders including website, social media, annual, impact and reports

Represent the charity in public forums and produce or commission written/digital material for promotion

Asset Management

Overall responsibility for asset management including Playbus vehicles, premises management, IT, utilities and other overheads.

The employer is an independent charity that provides emotional and practical support to cancer patients. It was named after one of its patients Alan Dumbell. Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated Trust and Major Donor Fundraiser to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations but Trustees have decided to expand our income generation streams in order to enable us to do more for each and every Royal Air Force Air Cadet. Our activities and projects include supporting flying, adventurous training, drone piloting, participation in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, national sports and national music competitions, BTEC qualifications, STEM development as well as many others. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is an opportunity to join a vibrant young charity at the start of its new journey to do more for the young people of our Nation.

The role will focus chiefly on sourcing funding from charitable trusts who share our goal of developing our young people, equipping them with the skills to prosper not only in the present but also for the rest of their lives. Some cadets will join the Royal Air Force, but the majority go on to forge careers in all walks of life thanks to the opportunities provided by the Air Cadets and the Air Cadet Charity. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested charitable trust fundraising skills such that they contribute the majority of the additional funds required to make this ambition a reality although we recognise that this will not be an overnight goal!  In addition, the successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills enabling them to encourage donations from major donors and all who would wish to support the development of our young people.

The role will work directly to the Charity Director, will suit someone who is able to work as the sole fundraiser – although there may be scope to increase our resources as our ambition grows – and not afraid of hard work and added responsibility. Position: Senior Grants and Trusts Lead (Fundraising)

Location: Edinburgh/Hybrid

Hours: Full or part-time, up to 35 hours p/w, open to discussing flexible working options

Salary: Circa £37,000- £40,000 per annum pro rata, plus benefits

Contract: 6-month fixed term contract

The Role

You will lead the Trusts and Foundations income generation across projects, supported by the Director of Development and Head of Development, to secure grants for the organisations and its work. You will effectively develop funding partnerships and relationships aligned to the strategic priorities.  You will manage and deliver the whole cycle of trusts and foundations income generation, including regular prospecting, producing impactful funder reports and maintaining our CRM system.

About You

You will be an experienced Trusts fundraiser and an excellent writer, experienced at telling engaging stories and building persuasive cases for support. Driven and highly self-motivated, you will have a proven track record of securing significant grants (five figures and above) and experience of working with a range of trusts and foundations, including large institutional funders.

You will:
