Job description

We are looking for a Fundraising Database Assistant to support our Fundraising team. This is a hybrid role working mostly from our offices in York with the option of some home working. The working pattern is to be agreed with the successful candidate.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person, both in terms of the role itself, but also the key part you’ll play in helping to directly benefit families raising a disabled or seriously ill child.

The role

Family Fund is seeking a dedicated and organised Fundraising Database Assistant to support our fundraising team. You will provide exceptional donor care, ensuring efficient donation processing, and maintaining accurate supporter records. This is a key role where your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will help enhance our relationship with supporters, making them feel valued and appreciated.

In this role, you will assist the Fundraising Manager and the wider team in managing donor communications, both online and offline. From responding to inquiries to keeping supporters informed about their contributions, you will be the friendly voice of Family Fund. You’ll also play a critical role in handling donations, including managing one-off and batch income, using our fundraising database to ensure all donations are processed promptly and accurately. Your ability to manage data effectively will ensure the team has accurate information and reports.

The person we’re looking for

We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented individual with experience in administration, ideally within a fundraising or charity environment. You should be experienced using databases, particularly in managing financial data or donations, and have a keen eye for accuracy. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be interacting with our supporters, ensuring they receive timely and professional responses. This will include communicating over the phone, online, or in person.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You should have a genuine passion for delivering excellent supporter care and be motivated by the idea of making a difference through your work. A collaborative team player, you’ll be eager to support your colleagues, while ensuring our fundraising processes run smoothly and efficiently.

If you’re looking to grow your career in the charity sector and be part of a team that makes a real impact, we’d love to hear from you!
