Our Money Advice team provide a professional Money Advice service, which enables clients to look at income maximisation, budget planning, enforcement options open to their creditors and to find a solution for their debts

The Money Advice Supervisor will have a detailed understanding of the money advice system and funder requirements. You will be required to work across all advice channels including digital, face to face and telephone. You will also be expected to provide technical support to our Money Advice team.

The Money Advice Supervisor will undertake the following additional responsibilities:

• Ensure high quality advice by actively listening to/ shadowing advice sessions and file reviews.
• Develop team expertise in line with individual training plans and supervision
• Work towards, and maintain technical supervisor standards
• Support and actively contribute to the coordination of service delivery rotas.

To be successful in this role you will be able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, exhibit excellent listening and questioning skills and to present and conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner with all clients seeking support.

You will liaise with contacts across various agencies to find resolutions for escalated issues and you will understand the importance of security and data protection to ensure all data is protected in line with GDPR legislation. You will have a good standard of numeracy to complete budget plans to aid the advice process and be proficient in the use of computer packages with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. You will have an open and friendly demeanour and be able to work as part of a diverse team.

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting home based opportunity working with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

The Role

About the role 

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers. 

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. 

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the Greater London areat. There will be occasional travel around the Greater London region, and you will be required to travel for quarterly face to face team meetings. 

About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the South West, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of 10, which includes two Regional Casework Managers and a Regional Operations Manager. 

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. Liverpool SHS is a mental health, 12 hour supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional Operations Manager to join the team on a permanent, part time basis, managing their vulnerable women and young parents' projects across Rochdale.

The role

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for;

• Leading front lone homelessness services supporting vulnerable women and young parents ensuring they work in line with strategy, resources and procedures to operate effectively and in line with agreed polices and plans.
• Ensuring that services are maintained and developed in accordance with key aims and objectives, are responsive to change, trauma informed, needs led and actively seek the contribution of individuals and families who use the service.
• Harnessing a working environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, positively and creativity.
• Promoting client advocacy and involvement and ensure client services are assessed and reviewed and that services meet client satisfaction goals
• Working with the team leaders in providing consistent and responsible line management to staff, students and volunteers including recruitment.
• Building effective relationships with other agencies to promote a critical community approach to service delivery.
• Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on quality and performance of services to meet contract and funder requirements.
• Ensuring the finance team have the correct annual information to support in setting and controlling of all service budgets.
• Working with the Head of Operations to identify funding opportunities.
• Being committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
• Working at times other than office hours to attend meetings, participate in networks, fund raising events and ensuring that the service is accessible.

Liverpool SHS is a mental health, 12 hour supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. About the Role

Your objective for the first 12 months in post will be to have:

• Supported the Youth Zone to achieve 1,000 visits by young people a week by ensuring volunteers play a key role in service delivery.
• Collaborated with the delivery and operational team to ensure volunteer opportunities are identified.
• Put in place a robust volunteer recruitment pathway.
• Created a ‘culture of volunteering’ and ensured the critical role of volunteer is understood and valued across the whole organisation.
• Supported each member of the operation and delivery team to line manager between 2-4 volunteers each, providing between 6 and 30 hours of volunteering a week.
• Put in place a reward and recognition scheme that celebrates volunteers’ successes.

The charity is in the process of securing temporary office space in the Preston area, ahead of construction on the new Youth Zone being completed (expected summer 2025). In the first two months of this role, you will also spend time on placement at another North-West based Youth Zone.

• Volunteer management best practice, including developing and supporting a wide range of volunteering opportunities

About the Organisation

This is a brand-new locally run youth charity, set to provide thousands of young people with the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, try something new and feel safe. The role

At Storyhouse, we are lucky enough to have over 180 volunteers. They are integral to our day-to-day operation and are the face of our visitor experience and support our teams across the organisation.

The purpose of this role is to provide coordination of all volunteer activity across the organisation and to support the Head of People with the ongoing management and future development of the volunteer programme.

You will form part of the People Team, which also focuses on Human Resources and Payroll.

You will be proactive in ensuring we have a diverse volunteer programme that is embedded across Storyhouse and is provided as a vital service to our communities.

Responsibilities

Administration

• Coordinate our 180+ volunteers, including maintenance of our systems, training records, and rota management
• Work with all departments to ensure volunteers are integrated and well managed when on shift in their roles
• Oversee and enact all volunteer policies and procedures, playing an active part of annual reviews and ongoing development of these key documents
• Manage the tone and style of communication with all volunteers, managing expectations and keeping them up to date on all Storyhouse news and opportunities
• Keep up to date with best practice and legislation in the volunteer sector
• Conduct regular volunteer surveys and establish routes for volunteers to provide feedback
• Other administrative tasks to support the People Team as required; as a small team, we all support each other.

Recruitment

• Proactively and innovatively manage all volunteer recruitment, creating a diverse pool of volunteers to support our work across the organisation
• Ensure relevant DBS checks are conducted and personal references are obtained, highlighting any concerns
• Support with the development and delivery of volunteer inductions
• Support the Head of People with the creation of volunteer opportunities that both support our teams and provide a first-class experience for the volunteer
• Process leavers relevant systems, monitoring the completion of exit interviews
• Audit & monitor uniform levels, issuing to volunteers, highlighting when stock levels are low

Training

• Maintain our online training records, ensuring volunteers have completed required training
• Assist with the organisation of in-house training by booking spaces, compiling presentations and relevant paperwork, or coordinate the booking of external training providers coming on-site as required

Programme Development

• Attend networking events, open days and recruitment fairs, representing Storyhouse and raising the profile of our work with volunteers
• Work with the Head of People to produce reports on the volunteer programme to the Senior Leadership Team, trustees and other stakeholders as required
• Develop relationships with our partnership organisations and wider networks to maintain and develop existing and new volunteer opportunities
• Work with Young Storyhouse to offer Young Leader graduates volunteer opportunities
• Work on volunteer incentives, recognition and reward schemes across the year

General

• Act in accordance with Storyhouse’s policies and procedures, and undertake any training as required by Storyhouse
• Act as a role model for other staff and contribute to the life of the organisation as a whole
• Carry out any other duties as may be required as part of the Volunteer Coordinator’s role

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role working with volunteers, ideally in a visitor-facing environment
• Experience developing learning pathways for volunteers
• Experience delivering engaging training sessions to a wide range of audiences
• Experience creating positive team environments
• Experience networking and developing mutually beneficial working relationships
• Personal volunteering experience (desirable)
• High level of understanding of volunteer legislation in the UK (relevant qualification desirable)
• Excellent time management, administration, and planning skills
