We have the opportunity for a Learning and Development Specialist (Safeguarding) to join our team and help to support a strong safeguarding culture within RBL, ensuring protection for beneficiaries and maintaining RBL's reputation. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all safeguarding learning material, key responsibilities will include:
- Online awareness training for staff, volunteers, and members on safeguarding adults and children, covering UK devolved administrations and RBL’s overseas welfare work
- Integrated safeguarding and casework training for range of staff, volunteers, members and stakeholders
- Working with Heads of Departments across all directorates to deliver SME-specific training both virtual and in-person
- Conducting research to support the planning and delivery of safeguarding training
- Evaluating case reviews and trends analysis, to inform training
This post is a Permanent Part Time opportunity, working 21 hours per week. Schedule of hours to be agreed between Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

About the role
Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.
You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.
To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.
Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the South West region in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire or Somerset. There will be occasional travel around the South West Region, and you will be required to travel for quarterly face to face team meetings.
About the team
The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the South West, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of 10, which includes two Regional Casework Managers and a Regional Operations Manager.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the South West would be valuable

The successful candidate will have administrative experience, IT skills across Microsoft Office packages, and the ability to communicate effectively with members and supporters by telephone and email. Experience of using a CRM database will be an advantage.
The Supporter Care Assistant will be line-managed by the Membership Services & Data Manager, and form part of a job share with the existing 2 days per week postholder. The role also receives supervision and support from other roles in the team, and will work with volunteers.

The Role
The Philanthropic Partnerships Assistant plays an important role in supporting the financial sustainability objectives of GGF UK. The postholder is responsible for managing a portfolio of trust and foundations partnerships giving up to $200,000 per year, and will also be responsible for stewarding our portfolio of individual giving supporters donating up to £10,000 per year. They will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and time management skills, effectively prioritising tasks to deliver excellent results within a complex, varied, and time-sensitive workload.
With excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the candidate will have a proven ability to create compelling proposals, presentations, reports, and other materials. They will possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps, and collaboration tools like Trello and Slack, along with experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems. The candidate will have a strong understanding of and commitment to environmental and social justice, with some knowledge of the issues addressed by Global Greengrants Fund. Board of Trustees & CEO support:
- Arranging Board and committee meetings - securing dates, venue bookings, preparing and collating papers and presentations, taking minutes and facilitating actions.
- Coordinate Trust policy reviews and ensure these are completed in a timely manner
- Organising team meetings, team awaydays and collating and sharing information and notes arising from those sessions
Recruitment & HR:
- Preparing documentation & placing adverts.
- Organising interviews both in person and online.
- Processing documentation - new starter details, contracts & updating the HR system.
- Organising and booking staff training as required.
- Arranging DBSs for staff and trustees as required.
Retail:
- Monitoring online stock levels, placing orders for merchandise, and liaising with our fulfilment centre.
- Ensuring our retail management system contains up to date data, by reviewing stock takes, accurately processing orders and updating the database as appropriate.
- Producing quarterly stock take reports.
- Supporting the sales team at Port Lockroy.
General:
- Monitoring inbox, office telephone & postbag
- Working flexibly with colleagues in the broader support of the aims of the Trust. Providing ad hoc administrative support as required.

Terms

Salary: £28,000 pro rata
Working Hours
- 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Flexible working hours available; to be agreed upon appointment.

Purpose
Kids in Need of Defense UK is a collaboration between four award-winning, UK based not for profits that specialise in children’s immigration and asylum law. We partner with lawyers and law firms across the UK to provide the highest quality legal advice and representation for free to undocumented children and young people. Central England Law Centre (CELC) is the UK's Largest Law Centre and the lead partner in the KIND UK collaboration. The successful candidate will be working with Central England Law Centre (CELC) on the KIND UK project.
This is a key role for which we’re seeking a suitably qualified and experienced immigration adviser. They will be responsible for providing an excellent frontline service to KIND UK clients, leading on all matters relating to the assessment and triage of new referrals to the service.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Responsibilities:
- Assess referrals which have been flagged for legal advice by KIND UK administrators, for merit and suitability for the KIND UK project
- Assess and agree the appropriate level of service, making the initial triaging decision on referrals
- Provide internal legal advice on referrals with legal complexities
- Provide one-off advice to prospective clients via telephone and/or email, where appropriate
- Make onward referrals to other suitable immigration advisers and other services, where appropriate
Personal Specification:
Essential:
- OISC L3 or admitted as a solicitor or barrister in the UK or equivalent right to give immigration advice
- Significant post-qualification experience in child, young person and adult immigration and nationality law
- Broad and confident knowledge of UK immigration and nationality law and policy
- Experienced and confident in making independent and swift decisions on legal issues in immigration and nationality law
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a triage function

Within this varied role, you will be responsible for ensuring that internal and external stakeholders receive excellent service before, during and after their event, and perform booking and event support administrative tasks such as placing catering orders, preparing the event space and diary management. You will work closely with our team of reception volunteers and will liaise regularly with colleagues across the charity to ensure that larger charity events, training courses and meetings are delivered to a high standard.
