Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and one of our offices - based in London, Cardiff or Edinburgh)

Salary on appointment: £31,760 - £34,936 per annum*

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £31,760 to £47,640. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of 10% above the base salary, depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Purpose of Role

This role takes a data-led approach to maximising the impact of our communications to raise the profile of the organisation and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts.

The role holder will work alongside the wider Communications & Campaigns team to deliver agreed GB-wide communications and manage nation-specific communications as part of an integrated and coordinated programme of communications.

The role holder has an innate connection and understanding of the Welsh context and can adapt and deliver national issues to local audiences, as well as bringing our work in Wales to a national audience across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

Communications planning

• Work closely with the Ramblers Cymru team to stay abreast of projects and local issues.
• Work with the Strategic Communications Manager to lead a structured communications planning process that ensures key audiences are receiving timely communications in line with their needs, via appropriate channels (GB-wide or nation-specific). A key part of this process will be sequencing to ensure that audiences are not overwhelmed by multiple/fragmented messages.
• Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets for both GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities and advocacy campaigns.

Communications Delivery

• Project manage and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels, including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs

Channel management

• Work in partnership with the Member & Supporter Experience team and the broader communications team to plan and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific member and volunteer communications.
   
• Work in partnership with the Social & Community Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences, to drive engagement with our posts and to grow the reach of our GB-wide and nation-specific social media channels.

• Work in partnership with the Website Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences and to maximise the impact of our website and digital marketing to grow our supporter base.

• Work in partnership with the PR & Media Officer to maximise the reach and impact of our public relations across our target audiences in England, Scotland & Wales.

Content Development

• Work in collaboration with the wider Communications & Campaigns team to source and produce communications materials and assets (photos, stories, videos, graphics etc) that can be used on GB-wide and nation-specific channels to help build the Ramblers brand and relevance to our target audiences
   

Data analysis and reporting:

• Monitor and analyse communications performance using key metrics and data insights.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to inform future campaigns and strategies.
   

Innovation and improvement:

• Apply data insights to shape and improve channel strategy and tactics, using a test-and-learn approach.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness.
• Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve campaign strategies.

Other

• Undertake such other duties as may be required of the post.
• Engage and proactively develop excellent working relationships across the organisation.

The Person 

Knowledge and Experience

• Ability to develop and implement effective communications activities aligned with organisational goals.

• Proficient in the Welsh language. As a minimum be able to review copy provided by a translator. Ideally able to write Welsh copy from scratch and conduct media interviews in Welsh.

• Proven experience in managing and executing successful paid and no cost/low-cost communications campaigns, preferably within a non-profit or advocacy/campaigning organization.

• Multi-channel communications and marketing experience including PR, social media and digital

• Experience of writing for different audiences ensuring key messages are delivered in the brand tone of voice

• Strong skills in creating engaging content across various media platforms.

• Proficiency in analysing campaign performance data and deriving actionable insights.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and public relations.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Strong organisational skills with experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines.

• Experience of working with volunteers

• Understanding of the importance of 360° branding to ensure that everything we do across our comms and our activities helps build the brand

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our small and dynamic team during an exciting period of growth for the organisation. This newly created role will be crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and ensure the financial sustainability of the Charity. It will include identifying new funding opportunities as well as producing several initiatives including building our regular donors, corporate partnerships and legacy campaigns.

This senior role will be part of our communications and fundraising team reporting to the Marketing Director and managing one member of staff initially.

The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for mass fundraising through enabling individuals and communities to support ARUK through their own talents and passions. The team drives registrations and income through third party, virtual and mass participation events and manages these relationships to maximise income.

The Central Fundraising Team is the beating heart of SLF as they work across Regional, Sporting Events and Marketing & Engagement teams to ensure our supporters receive incredible stewardship to achieve their fundraising goals. They ensure processes are in place to allow teams to work together effectively and maximise opportunities and innovation that come through online fundraising platforms and fundraisers.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Line Management

· Line management of two Central Fundraising Executives and Senior Central Fundraising Officer.

· Monitor, review, and empower the team to ensure effective communication and place CFT as the heart of SLF.

· Support all CFT to reach their non-financial targets.

· Work with Senior Manager and Senior officer to deliver monthly meetings with the whole team to share ideas and creativity, gather feedback and understand successes and challenges.

· Spot potential development opportunities across the team.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure the fundraising CRM is being used consistently across CFT the wider SLF department to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.

· Effectively understand and communicate reporting processes undertaken by the CFT and gather feedback to ensure these are the most effective for both teams.

· Act as Lead for the Fundraising CRM use for the Community Fundraising Managers, RFOs and Central Fundraising Team to allow accurate, insightful, and consistent reporting.

· Provide the CFT and regionally based teams with the tools they need for effective working relationships.

· Provide a monthly Department Report update for CFT as well as ad-hoc reporting when required.

· Use data and trends to support the SLF leadership team in in budgeting and forecasting.

· Work closely with the Data and Digital teams to monitor SLF’s contactable supporter base and segmentation.

· Assess and address Salesforce training needs across SLF

· Proactively Identify and Resolve Salesforce Issues, escalating to Senior Central Fundraising Manager where appropriate.

Supporter Stewardship

· Lead on the delivery of a unified approach to supporter care across SLF, including use of data, automation, product development and LTV.

· Monitor and gather feedback from employees and supporters about our stewardship and ‘surprise and delight’ offerings, constantly seeking creative and inspirational new stewardship methods and relevant improvements.

· Coordinate the re-engagement stewardship project for all SLF teams, with structured content input from Managers and direction from the CFM responsible for DIY fundraising.

· Inspire and train the CFT to nurture active fundraisers and build relationships to increase long-term loyalty.

· Frequently analyse and understand SLF supporter journeys to ensure they are consistent, ensure collaboration and idea sharing and offer the best level of stewardship for the supporter.

· Understand and analyse how RFOs and CFT steward supporters through to ensure cohesion, passing of leads between teams and sharing best practice across the wider team at all times

· Regularly review and analyse the supporter chase process to ensure we are receiving funds in a timely manner.

· Review and analyse the tiering system regularly to ensure it is fit for purpose and is offering the supporter the best stewardship journey.

· Lead on the implementation of recommendations from the annual mystery shopping exercise.

Project Management

· Become the lead for projects which involve the whole or majority of SLF to ensure tasks are delegated fairly and completed on time. Examples include Skydiving Days and Last Hour of Pay as well as platforms such as Tiltify and GivePanel.

· Be the central expert for SLF-wide process and projects, gathering experience and knowledge from all SLF teams and provide efficient and helpful updates accordingly.

Strategy and Operational Planning

· Provide creative and innovative suggestions for new supporter engagement and online fundraising products and projects. Work closely with the Senior Officers to implement and see through to completion.

· Identify opportunities for growth and diversification within the Online Fundraising space.

· Make recommendations on team structure and resource as part of the Ops Planning process.

· Work with the Director of Supporter-led fundraising to develop our strategic approach to innovation around digital and gaming channels.

Collaboration

· Support the CFT Senior Officer in overseeing the joint working between the Central Fundraising Team, the Regional Fundraising Officers and the Sporting Events Officers ensuring that supporters are given the best level of stewardship.

· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to share trends, learnings and collaborate on new projects and automated stewardship journeys.

· Continue to improve communications across all departments to ensure all resources are available across all teams.

· To ensure the team is the centre point of SLF and sharing communications regularly and have a good understanding of what is happening across each department.

· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments to ascertain workloads for the rest of CFT and ensure support is consistent across the department. To gain feedback from the different departments as to how processes are working and review for potential changes.

· Continue to review the level of support the team will offer to each SLF Department and ensure this is followed.

· Monitoring CFT and RFO KPIs/Goals to ensure consistency.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

The Partnership Development Team is comprised of partnership experts across a portfolio of institutional partners. The team seeks to deliver exceptional global partnerships, optimising both funding and influence. About the role

As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.

The focus of the role will include maximising the impact of SCUK's relationships with the UK Government including Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), ensure effective knowledge management and capacity building for the UK Government account internally – including for UK Government funded programmes, pipeline and influencing work.

You will support and liaise with a network of internal and external stakeholders to optimise our UK Government engagement, in pursuit of specific partnership opportunities. As well as contribute to the development of the wider partnership strategy, lead and contribute to cross team projects.

 In this role, you will: 

• Ensure a broad-ranging and inclusive partnership. This includes:
  • Contributing to the implementation of SCUK's overall institutional partnerships strategy.
  • Management of information and status of relationships/financing to keep our leadership (CEO, Executive Directors) up-to-date with our partnerships.
  • Supporting the organisation to continually build strategic understanding of the UK Government and any evolving trends that may impact the relationship.
  • Representing Save the Children with the appropriate partner contacts and providing strong support to colleagues in their external engagement (country, regional and HQ levels).
  • Exploring new avenues of collaboration and new funding modalities to maximise income and return on investment.
  • Secure support from colleagues from across the organisation to contribute to our engagement with the UK government
• Ensure increased quality and consistency in the design, delivery and reporting of all projects/awards. This includes:
  • Development and delivery of donor specific capacity building plans.
  • Working closely with the Donor Compliance team to identify risks, mitigating measures and setting adequate monitoring mechanisms to support wider award management processes.
  • Developing common standard approaches to quality and compliance across the account. Ensuring partner regulations and expectations are well understood among parties involved.
  • Engaging with wider Save the Children in generating and sharing learning and best practices.
  • Ensuring strong knowledge management systems are in place.
• Collaborating with team members to develop and embed our partnership and management approach, to maximise the benefit of the team's work to the wider organisation and movement.

 About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Skills in partnership management and market assessment in relation to overall positioning with partners.
• Experience, interest and knowledge of current thinking and future trends and thorough understanding of international development issues.
• Proven experience of providing creative and innovative approaches in developing new initiatives that contribute towards partnership objectives.
• Experience in relationship management, working with Governments, donors, trusts and foundations, or equally demanding partners.
• Experience of undertaking industry trend and donor specific research, finding relevant, reliable, and up to date information quickly.
• Ideally knowledge of and experience working directly with Governments and other key factors such as multi-lateral institutions e.g. their structures, operations and priorities (geographic, sectorial, thematic, at policy & advocacy levels).
• Ideally a good understanding of project design, quality programming and effective delivery.
• Self-driven: ability to take a pro-active approach and work on own initiative; problem-solving skills and creative thinking in fluid or less structured environments.
• Excellent coordination and relationship building skills in forming and maintaining both internal and external relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to present complex information in a clear and succinct manner, ability to analyse trends and report on key financial metrics.

We’re a small but ambitious arts charity on an exciting journey. We are transforming a half-acre industrial heritage site - New River Head Clerkenwell - into the national centre for illustration and a home for Quentin Blake’s archive.

The Philanthropy Manager will secure gifts from Individuals, Trusts and Foundations in the range of £1,000-£50,000+, and will work closely with the Head of Development, Centre Director and Board to steward gifts at the £50,000+ level.

You will be a relationship-focused fundraiser with experience of face-to-face fundraising, excited by the opportunity to play a key part in launching a major new cultural institution. About the Role

The focus of the role is to lead Love Barton during the Charity Manager’s maternity leave, managing the existing projects detailed below, as well as working with the Trustees on fundraising. 

Projects

Health & Wellbeing: 

Hear4You is a listening service set up to support people in the community who are struggling emotionally. We receive referrals from our local GP surgery and people are matched with a volunteer listener for up to twelve 1-2-1 sessions. 

We also run an emergency foodbank twice a week in partnership with CEF , and are in the process of setting up a pantry in partnership with Mercy in Action to support 25 struggling families with ongoing food poverty support. This will be delivered by volunteers but will need general oversight from you. 

Your job would be to:

• Recruit, train and support volunteers

• Manage these projects to ensure they run smoothly and safely

Youth:

Know Your Worth is an eight week self esteem course for teenage girls run twice a year for local young people followed by 6-12 months of mentoring. We have a small team of volunteer mentors and a trained volunteer leader who runs the course. 

We are also setting up regular opportunities to gather the girls who have completed the Know Your Worth course for ongoing support. 

Your job would be:

• Support the Know Your Worth Leader (volunteer role) in organising and running our Know Your Worth course for teenage girls, overseeing sign ups, communications with families, safeguarding and health & safety.

• Recruit, train and support volunteer mentors to ensure mentoring programme runs effectively and safely. 

• Develop and manage our monthly/termly sessions for those who have attended a Know Your Worth course

Flourishing Families:

In response to local need, we want to provide support for families before they reach crisis points. We do this through 1-2-1 pastoral support and the Kids Matter Parenting courses as well as hosting seasonal family events and a weekly toddler group that’s run in partnership with Barton Community Church. 

Your job would be:

• To provide and coordinate targeted pastoral care to individual families in need. 

• To organise and deliver a termly, seasonal community event ideally in partnership with other local groups and organisations

Other key tasks/responsibilities 

• Enable the work, relationships and partnerships of Love Barton to continue and, expand the reach, visibility and community integration of the charity 

• Network with other key providers and stakeholders in Barton and attend community meetings to represent Love Barton 

• Work with the trustees to identify funding streams to sustain the role and projects

• Lead all recruitment, training and management of volunteers including ensuring safeguarding training and DBS certificates are up to date 

• Line-manage any sessional staff

• Manage the budgets for each project, evaluating outcomes and supporting the reporting to funders and trustees 

• Meet regularly with the BCC leadership team to ensure a close partnership 

• Attend regular supervision and commit to personal development
