This is an opportunity to join Refuge as the Director of Service Delivery, providing leadership on all aspects of service delivery and survivor engagement.

Refuge is the largest domestic abuse organisation in the UK. On any given day our services support thousands of women and their children, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives.

Do you have significant experience of leadership in the field of domestic abuse combined with experience of running a large strategic business unit or department? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join our senior leadership team, acting as trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on the formation, development and application of policy and strategic decisions relating to Service Delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will have an understanding of housing management and relevant legislation, a strong track record of influencing and giving professional advice to senior colleagues, and experience of leading and directing in crisis situations where there is a risk to the safety of staff and service users.

We have seen record breaking corporate partnerships income in the last two years and we want that growth to continue – but we know there are more opportunities than we can capitalise on with our team the size that it is. The fundraising team has ambitious targets over the next 3 – 5 years, and we won’t reach them if we’re leaving potential partnerships behind.

We’re looking for an ambitious and tenacious new business fundraiser to help us bring new partnerships to the charity, and ultimately raise more money to deliver the change we want to see for people with blood cancer.

You will be an effective fundraiser; someone who can build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and is naturally entrepreneurial. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.

Our agile working policy allows this role to be home based or office based, with travel into London for team meetings and donor meetings. 

Building networks and understanding what motivates our supporters, and aligning our activities with philanthropic interests, are crucial to our growth plans for this income stream. A primary focus of this role will be to identify potential donors capable of making transformational gifts. The post holder will work closely with the Trusts and Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising, focusing on securing and nurturing long-term relationships with new major donors. 

As a key member of our Fundraising team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving high value fundraising performance and making a significant contribution to our ambitious plans to reach more children and young people to help them to believe in themselves and shape the future they want and to tackle the structural and systemic issues holding young people back. 

Age UK are recruiting for a Director of Network Engagement & Support.

In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. The aim of the function is to significantly enhance the understanding the of needs, views and priorities of local Age UKs and the way in which the national organisation connects with, engages, and supports them. 

Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.

This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.  

The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. Whilst taking responsibility for providing team strategic direction and management to achieve objectives, the role holder is also expected to be a visible and constructive participant within both the wider Age UK senior management team and the senior team of the Network division.

This is a hybrid opportunity, linked with our central London office. Travel to other Network locations is required and may involve overnight stays.

Must haves:

• Experience of designing, leading and building high performing teams including bringing teams together to achieve change.  
• Experience of developing, implementing and continuously improving a support or relationship function setting standards for delivery i.e. KPIs/ SLAs including using technology effectively.  
• Demonstrable experience of building productive stakeholder relationships at executive level, with an ability to influence and negotiate and overcome barriers particularly in relation to delivering strategic objectives.  
• Proven track record as a strategic thinker, ability to recognise and navigate the overall operating context of an organisation, and think critically about evidence, business requirements and user needs. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders in a complex environment.
• Good influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills with senior managers and stakeholders to enable the delivery of positive solutions.   
• Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, maintain systems, manage competing demands and work calmly and confidently under pressure.  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a flair for adapting tone and message for different audiences.   
• Proven ability to analyse complex information and make decisions/formulate recommendations quickly, communicating information clearly and accessibly. 
• Proven experience of improving outcomes for stakeholders through collaboration and coordination along with an ability to use own initiative to take action.

• Knowledge of the role of statutory, voluntary and private sectors in relation to service provision for older people.

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity.

Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities. As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies toprotect women’s and girl’s rights.

The Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the bpf’s work and mission. This exciting opportunity would suit a fundraising professional with effective leadership, strategic thinking and analytical skills. Proven experience within the non-profit sector, with a broad range of fundraising skills and expertise, is essential. This role will suit someone who can roll their sleeves up and get the job done, as well as someone looking to take on a more strategic and project management role.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build strong and productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. There is significant scope and opportunity for the Fundraising Manager to shape bpf’s work around trusts and foundations, individual giving, challenge/community events, and corporate partnerships (all in their relative infancy at the charity and needing someone with experience and vision to broaden our reach and grow our current income).

The successful candidate will also have a track record of achieving income targets and managing successful, multi-stream fundraising campaigns. During the interview process, we would like to hear examples of the software, channels, and customer/donor relationship management tools (CRMs) you have used to build and manage fundraising campaigns.

The Coalition recently registered as a charity (December 2023). With our new registered status we’re keen to build our fundraising capability by recruiting for our very first fundraising role!

To date our fundraising has been limited to trusts and grants as well as local authority funding. We’re now looking to expand on this to help us reach and support even more Disabled people and those living with long term health conditions in Surrey.

Purpose of the role

The role will develop our fundraising strategy for the charity and manage Surrey Coalition of Disabled People’s fundraising activity including community grants, individual, corporate and legacy fundraising.

Main responsibilities

The main responsibilities are listed below.

• Work with Senior Leadership Team to develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy

• Research and evaluate new grant funding opportunities, co-ordinate the submission of high quality bids, and manage reporting requirements.

• Develop and steward excellent relationships with donors, trusts, foundations and corporates to ensure a diverse range of income streams.

• Research and implement fundraising events

• Set up and deliver a legacy fundraising programme.

• Collaborate with the Finance Manager and CEO to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting of our grants

• Carry out further tasks requested and agreed with the CEO, appropriate to the role and grade of the job.

• Work with Senior Leadership to develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
