We're looking for an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to join our Trusts and Grants team to look after a portfolio of prospects and grantmakers to help raise funds for our lifesaving work. This will be a full-time, permanent post. 4 days may be considered for the right candidate. Securing gifts from Trusts and Grantmakers will help bring our brave lifeboat crews home safely and provide the training and protective gear our crews and lifeguards need to save lives.
Your role
You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team to help develop and steward a portfolio of Trusts, identifying new funders and projects and building sustainable long-term relationships with supporters in order to meet agreed financial targets and deliver our Trust fundraising strategy. You will:
- Manage the stewardship of a portfolio of Trust supporters, making timely applications, delivering targeted reports and developing relationships in line with your stewardship plans.
- Be responsible for developing your pipeline to research and apply to lapsed and prospective Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies whose objectives and interests fit with our work.
- Work collaboratively with programme and finance colleagues across the RNLI to identify projects and creatively package exciting funding opportunities to open doors to new prospects.
- Build well-crafted, ‘stand-out’ grant applications and impact reports with detailed budgets and timelines that clearly demonstrate to funders the impact of their donations.
- Through emotionally intelligent relationship management, keep funders engaged and excited about our work and inspire them to continue to give.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and regional teams to identify creative approaches to new and existing funders.
- As one of a small team of Trusts and Grant Managers, support the rest of the team by gathering and sharing project and third sector information.
- Maintain excellent record-keeping to ensure accurate reporting and grant management in line with GDPR and accounting good practice.
The role is offered as a homebased or hybrid role. Some travel will be required.
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated Trusts and Grants Manager with:
- Experience of prospecting for large gifts and managing large donor relationships in a Trust fundraising environment or very similar discipline.
- Experience of working with project managers to identify and create attractive funding packages.
- Excellent attention to detail with experience of writing high quality, creative and compelling fundraising proposals and reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confidence in building internal and external relationships at all levels.
- Good personal resilience and an ability to work on your own initiative to manage projects and multi-task, plan and set priorities.
- A good understanding of the trust fundraising environment.
- A good understanding of financial reporting and experience in managing your own income pipeline.
- Excellent organisational skills with an understanding of the importance of good record-keeping.

Purpose of the role
Are you passionate about providing grants to ground-breaking environmental charities around the world? This role offers the chance to develop and manage a portfolio of grants dedicated to this subject area. The broad themes of the programme are: the regulation and reduction of harmful chemicals and pollution; Protecting human health and biodiversity in environmental planning (including though promoting good environmental governance) and regulating harmful impacts of business and development projects. Relationships and reporting lines
The Programme Officer will report to the Environment Programme Manager and will work closely with members of the Environment programme team, as well as the Executive and Deputy Executive Directors on matters of strategy. Main duties and responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to manage all stages of the grant making process, from invitation to application, award and reporting.
Programme Officer Duties:
- Making a contribution to the vision for and strategic direction of the Trust’s environmental grant-making portfolio;
- Identifying potential grant applicants by researching organisations in fields of interest to the Trust, networking and attending relevant events;
- Reviewing submitted applications, interviewing potential grantees, undertaking due diligence and preparing analytical reports and recommendations for Trustees;
- Reviewing reports submitted by grantees, evaluating and reporting on the impact of grants and signing off on grant payments;
- Managing the grant making pipeline to ensure efficiency of processes and an appropriate balance of recommendations across the Trust’s grant making meetings;
- Maintaining relationships and regular communication with grantees, including site visits and attendance at grantee events;
- Keeping informed of relevant developments including civil society activity, the regulatory environment and academic literature;
- Developing relationships with other donors and stakeholders in the field; and
- Representing the Trust externally at national and international conferences.
Other Duties:
- Carrying out similar duties for other programme areas as needed;
- Conducting research into particular thematic or funding related issues relevant for the Trust as needed;
- Such other duties as the Trust may reasonably require.

CCLC’s Finance and Billing Team is based in our London and Colchester office. It is anticipated this role would be based in our London office working alongside the Finance and Operations Manager.
About the role
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, multi-skilled Finance and Billing Assistant to support our busy practice.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide financial and administrative assistance to the Finance and Operations team, particularly focussed on increasing our Legal Aid billing capacity. This may involve assistance with broader financial and administrative tasks in order to release the overall capacity of the whole Finance Team to increase efficiency and maximise Legal Aid billing. From time to time, the role may also be required to provide general administrative and reception assistance, particularly for annual leave cover.
The role would suit an organised and efficient individual with strong IT skills who is looking to develop a career working within the charity finance or business support sector. This would be a particularly rewarding role for someone with an appreciation of the important role legal aid advice and representation plays in securing access to justice for the most vulnerable in society. Previous experience working in an administrative, operations or finance role would be desirable. However, full training will be provided and ongoing support and supervision will be available and therefore it is most important that the successful candidate can demonstrate the ability to work independently and show initiative and problem solving skills.
This is an office-based role and as such the successful candidate will benefit from being part of an experienced team. However, whilst this is a full-time position, we will consider requests for part-time working (28 hours per week minimum) and we will endeavour to offer some flexibility with days and hours to be agreed.

Workplace Justice is a new company limited by guarantee that has been created to take forward the annual New Organising Conference. Overview of the role
This role, which will be largely remote, with regular online supervision and periodic meet-ups, offers the opportunity to support an important social justice initiative which has received hugely positive feedback from participants. Duties and responsibilities
- Support the CEO to manage the organisation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including finance, HR, health and safety, data protection, and deadlines for annual returns to Companies House, the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies, and HMRC.
- Put in place governance and management systems to support the efficient operation of the business, and the achievement of strategic objectives and milestones agreed by the Global Black Thrive Board of Directors.
- Support in the development of Black Thrive’s internal Learning and development infrastructure, particularly with the Learning Week.
- Lead on strategic reviews of organisational policies and procedures and work with the CEO and colleagues to review, update and operationalise policies and procedures.
- Line manage Finance Officer and lead finance functions, including working with managers to prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring that there are appropriate financial controls and operational arrangements in place (including for outgoing and incoming invoices and grants), liaising with external accounting and payroll providers and training staff as required.
- Line mange the HR and Admin Manager and support with updating policies, rolling out strategic changes and communicating these companywide.
- Provide timely and accurate strategic financial management information to enable the Board of Directors, CEO and managers to have effective oversight and make strategic short-term and long-term decisions.
- Work with others in the organisation and support the Fundraising Strategy. This will also include strategies for creating our own independent funds that are not linked to an external funder.
