Job description

About us

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

You’ll be joining a team dedicated to raising vital year-round income and making Crisis supporters feel valued and inspired. This role will be supporting the growing Legacy Programme, as we seek to inspire more supporters with this unique way of giving.

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract – parental leave cover

Location: Based in London office - (you will be required to work from the London office once a week or twice a fortnight in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working policy)

About the role

Legacy Fundraising is a key priority for Crisis and as Fundraising Coordinator, you’ll be supporting a programme which has grown significantly in recent years. As we expand to new channels and audiences, you’ll be using creativity and innovation to develop campaigns and communications to inspire people with this way of giving. You’ll also talk directly to supporters who’ve remembered Crisis in their Will and providing sector-leading supporter experiences to keep them engaged with our impact.

About you

We’re looking for an organised project-manager and ideally someone with experience of delivering communications to a mass audience. You’ll be an excellent communicator, online and in print, and be comfortable having tactful conversations with our supporters.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop the knowledge and skills needed for a career in the charity fundraising sector. To be successful in this role you will:

  • enjoy thinking creatively and using storytelling to bring complex issues to life

  • be confident in your communication skills, whether writing persuasively for a specific audience or talking 1:1 with a supporter of Crisis

  • be comfortable using digital technology and working with data to improve outcomes

  • take an organised and proactive approach to managing your workload and balancing different priorities

Previous experience in charity fundraising is not a necessary requirement; more than anything, we’re looking for a candidate who is motivated to learn new skills, happy being an active member of a diverse and dynamic team and is passionate about ending homelessness.

We believe diversity is a strength, and our aim is to make sure that Crisis truly reflects the communities we serve. We are actively working towards our organisation being a place where everyone can thrive and make their best contribution to our mission of ending homelessness for good. We know that the more perspectives, voices, and experiences we can bring to this work, the better. We particularly welcome applications from people who have lived experience of homelessness, and people from all marginalised groups, communities and backgrounds.

Working at Crisis

As a member of the team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits including:

  • Interest free loans for travel season ticket, cycle to work, and deposit to secure a tenancy

  • Pension scheme with an employer contribution of 8.5%

  • 25 days’ annual leave which increases with service to 28 days and option to purchase up to 10 additional days leave

  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, shared parental, and adoption pay

  • Flexible working around the core hours 10am-4pm

  • And more! (Full list of benefits available on website)

Alongside our excellent staff benefits, we will support your ongoing development to build your skills, experience and career.

When you join us, you will have the opportunity to join our staff diversity networks, which aim to champion issues across the organisation, enable staff to be their authentic and best selves and contribute to making Crisis a truly diverse organisation.
