Head of Strategic Communications (Campaigning Non-Profit) (32 hour working week)

The organisations vision is of a fair, sustainable and resilient economy. An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Strategic Communications to join the team. As Head of Strategic Communications, you will lead the development of an expanded strategic communications function, building on the organisations track record of shaping media narratives around the economy. This is a full-time, permanent role, with flexible working options in London working 4 days a week as the non-profit operates on a 32 hour working week. 

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will possess significant experience of working in press/communications roles focused on UK politics/media institutions. You will have a proven and extensive track record of securing coverage in mainstream print and/or broadcast media, including generating stories from scratch. Your skill set will contain strong capabilities in analysing and understanding the motivations and agendas of media actors and the factors influencing them is required for this role. You will possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, with experience of translating complex topics into engaging content and tailoring messaging and copy to different audiences. You will also have experience of developing and delivering successful strategic communications plans based on audience insights which respect the target audience perspectives. A good understanding of the UK economic policy landscape would be a bonus to have however this is not essential for the role.
