Job description

Potteries Moneywise is a financial capability advice project within Citizens Advice Staffordshire North & Stoke on Trent. We are a modern, dynamic and innovative team in an organisation that employs 160 people.

We are currently one of the leading and most diverse funded local Citizens Advice organisations within the network. We receive funding from funders such as the British Gas Energy Trust, NHS and local authorities.

In the team alone, we recorded £2,447.697 in financial gains for the local community of Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire for January – June 2023, resolving over 7,500 issues.

We are recruiting a trainee financial capability advisor to deliver advice on a one-to-one basis with a clientele of varying abilities and situations to ensure that they are empowered to be more financially capable and confident through multiple channels such as dealing with debt, grant applications, benefit entitlement checks and energy bills.

Hours: 37.5hours per week

You will oversee and manage your time to deliver advice on a one-to-one basis meeting any targets required, complete casework, manage your administrative tasks and attend events.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have good communication skills
  • Work within time frames and target environment
  • Experience of working with general public
  • Work well within a team
  • Good level of IT skills (Microsoft 365)
  • Understand & follow our policies and procedures
