Job description

Citizens Advice Staffordshire North and Stoke on Trent is looking for Advisors to deliver the Universal Credit: Help to Claim Service. Currently funded until 31st March 2025

We are currently one of the leading and most diverse funded local Citizens Advice organisations within the network. We receive funding from funders such as the British Gas Energy Trust, NHS and local authorities.

In the team alone, we recorded £2,447.697 in financial gains for the local community of Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire for January – June 2023, resolving over 7,500 issues.

The Adviser will be responsbile for the delviery of - Assessment, Signposting, Assisted information, Brief Intervention and full Advice face-to-face, on the telephone and via webchat to people needing assistance to claim Universal Support.

You will have:

  • The ability to work within aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service
  • Experience and a working knowledge of the main generalist advice areas but with particular reference to benefit advice and Universal Credit
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of IT literacy including the general use of the internet and to deliver webchat
  • The ability to prioritise and plan work to meet deadlines under pressure
  • The ability to travel within our main area of operation (North Staffordshire)
