As a Trust Fundraiser, you will be a key member of our passionate and talented philanthropy team. You will proactively manage a portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations to secure income in support of The Salvation Army’s programme of work in England and Wales, helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society and fighting against injustice.

Back Up’s Regional Outreach and Engagement team are the very face of the organisation and are based across the UK, working directly with spinal cord injury centres, hospitals – or indeed anywhere that people affected by spinal cord injury may be.

We are delighted to have secured funding to set up and establish a robust impact and data collection process and database so that clear outcomes can be measured and collected for the different areas within our adoption support services. This is a new role and the postholder will play a key part in delivering on this work.

Working alongside Adoption Support colleagues, the Database Officer will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the database, ensuring data is kept up to date as well as inputting, monitoring and evaluating data and service user details.  They will also contribute to the collection of feedback and case studies from service users.

The Database Officer will produce comprehensive and tailored reports using both qualitative and quantitative data, derived from the new monitoring and evaluation system.  These evidence-based reports are produced for a variety of audiences and will contribute to evidencing the effectiveness of PACT’s adoption support services.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in an administrative support role, with database and/or data capture administration experience.  To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in producing reports from a database with a keen eye for accuracy and detail and have strong data analysis skills with an ability to derive meaningful insights.

• Support the Head of Governance and HR in delivering the actions that support preparations for the next Investors in People (IiP) external assessment in late 2024. Ensure the Trust’s HR policies and practices remain consistent with the IiP standard.
• Work proactively with the HR Business Partner on the running of staff recruitment and selection processes, including sitting as the HR representative on the interview panel for more senior roles.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Substantial experience of working in HR operations and of developing and reviewing appropriate HR policies and procedures in a charity or similar setting.

Our client is leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the West Midlands. 

Their Helpline service is aimed at service users and their carers living in Birmingham and Solihull, to offer a range of interventions to support individuals who are experiencing psychological distress and/or a mental health crisis. Additionally the service has been designed and developed to help reduce the burden on statutory services including A&E departments and the police. 

The role: 

The Deputy Manager for the Helpline service will provide support to a team of Helpline Intervention workers and volunteers with the day to day management of the Helpline Service. 

The Helpline Service is a 7 day a week service operating between the hours of 9am -11pm and requires a member of the management team present at all times.  Under the direction of the service manager you will support the running of the Helpline service in line with contractual requirements, their Vision and Values, its Operating Policy and Procedures, and any relevant legal requirements.

The Fundraiser will play a key role in raising funds and awareness for the Friends of Bereaved Families Forum, a UK charity established to support the work of the Parents' Circle in Israel and Palestine.

• Newsletter - produce and distribute periodic written/visual material about FBFF activities for the newsletter and translating/adapt relevant PCFF materials for UK audiences. Constantly increase distribution and readership.

The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day-to-day management of our Young Peoples Ofsted registered service, including line managing the relevant front-line staff. You will lead and develop competence of direct reports as well as carry caseloads of customers requiring support. You will work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure that the service delivers on all targets, both financial and those around the quality of the service.

What you'll do:

- Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
- Deliver effective supervision and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting and communication
- Responsible for the personal development of staff, identifying high performers and feeding into the organisation's succession plans
- Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly
- Develop key business relationships with all appropriate relevant customers/external parties to ensure service delivery excellence and maximise new business opportunities in own patch
- Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of the customer
- Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations
- Manage the Service Rota
- Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to Contract Manager/Head of Operations, as appropriate

The Bookkeeper/Finance Assistant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing invoices to donors and from suppliers, initiating and processing bank transactions and preparation of draft reports. In addition to this, the post-holder will record all incoming and outgoing transactions on QuickBooks, making journal entries, creating, and monitoring EECF’s cashflow forecast and processing monthly payment runs.

Right now, our Croft House Supported Housing service in Surrey is looking for Recovery Workers to support the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community. Entering accurate case notes onto our IT system will be important too. And, when it comes to regularly liaising with GP surgeries, the local council, charities etc. or promoting the service within the community, again, we'll count on you.

No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. They are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning and decision-making processes within the organisation. You will be responsible for analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing key insights to aid in strategic business planning and performance evaluation. You will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. You will conduct financial analysis and provide insights on business performance, including variance analysis, trend analysis and financial forecasting.

This post will report to the Head of Finance and Operations. While this role is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 24 months, we hope that the contract can be extended, subject to resources. Experience of using Xero is ideal. Hybrid working with 2 days per week in their London office.

Main responsibilities:

− Responsible for grants management and reporting in collaboration with the Development team; this ranges from supporting with budget proposal development, grants expenditure analysis, and reporting.
− Complete monthly grant expenditure allocations, using organisational knowledge to recommend allocations which optimise grant spending and highlight major variances against budget. If appropriate, identify possible remedial action(s).
− Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards to senior management and stakeholders.
− Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial plans and long-term strategic plans.
− Maintain and develop the organisations rolling financial forecasting model, highlighting critical trends and supporting or challenging assumptions as necessary.
− Provide strategic and medium/long-term financial planning scenario analysis.
− Qualified accountant, with solid experience in developing and improving accounting & financial management processes and systems, management accounting & reporting and donor financial reporting.
− An understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
