Job description

Grants Administrator
Hybrid, working one day per week in Covent Garden office, and the rest remotely
37.5 hours per week
Temporary, minimum of 3 months, could be a temp-perm appointment
£15.38 – £17.95 per hour, plus hourly holiday pay

The Grants Administrator, will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Development & Programme Management in various critical functions. Your primary responsibilities revolve around fundraising activities, including the meticulous administration of grants and the drafting and reporting on grant proposals. Internally, you will liaise between teams, especially research, seeking their input into grant proposals, and working closely with the Finance Team to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial reporting for fundraising efforts. Additionally, the role is responsible for collecting evidence and data, crucial for comprehensive fundraising reports. So, it would be advantageous to have sound knowledge of terminology around grant making and basic finance administration.

This is a demanding role, with the need to ensure work is completed in a timely manner. You will be expected to have good experience using Excel (however this will be basic data inputting) and have previously used a grant making tool. The ideal candidate will have solid grants administration experience, who has an interest in climate change and is able to think on their feet.

Role Duties:
* Pro-active approach and the ability to research opportunities and develop engagement strategies (under the direction and guidance of Head of Development).
* Provide support in the scoping and mapping of funders and helping to build and establish smart engagement opportunities.
* Maintain and update the fund-raising database and calendar to track upcoming fundraising opportunities, proposal and reporting deadlines.
* Work collaboratively with the research team leads and finance on tracking, proposals and reporting.
* Performance indicators/success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of reports.
* Research and update data and statistics for reporting

Skills/ Experience:
* An interest and enthusiasm for climate change
* Highly organised
* Experience in managing projects
* Experience with funder / grant portals (FLUXX, Cybergrants or Givingdata – as an example)
* Proficient with MS Office suite.
* High level of attention to detail.
