Finance Manager - National

Permanent predominately remote role, there is an expectation that during handover attendance in the office is once per week and then a minimum of once per month for team meetings.

Are you an experienced Finance Manager keen to join a growing organisation that makes a big impact on the lives of people in need of advice.  Charity People is delighted to be partnering with Advice UK, a £5million turnover organisation to help recruit a Finance Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be managing one Finance Officer and working closely with the Head of Finance leading on statutory and management accounts.

Working very closely with a forward-thinking Head of Finance and newly established Senior Leadership Team (SLT), this is an exciting time to join this amazing organisation.

Salary: £45-50,000 per annum, including the relevant regional weighting allowance.

Benefits including 20 days of annual leave, increasing by a day each year (to a maximum of 25 days), 3 days leave between Christmas and New Year, home working allowance, 6% pension.

Contract: Full time 35 hours per week, Permanent

Location: Remote home based role with a regular travel to London, we encourage applicants from across the UK.
 

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Assist the Head of Finance and People with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial strategy implementation.
  • Manage cash flow, monitor bank balances, and ensure effective working capital management.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Ensure that restricted and unrestricted funds are appropriately managed and reported.
  • Supervise and support the Finance Officer, ensuring accurate financial processing.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including VAT returns.
  • Support the year-end audit process, preparing necessary schedules and liaising with auditors.
  • Ensure smooth processing of payroll (via Employment Hero).
  • Lead and manage one member of staff in Finance and work closely with HR and other divisions

Candidates applying for this role must have the following:

  • A recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or working towards a recognised Finance qualification
  • Producing monthly or quarterly management accounts and providing suitable narrative as required
  • Supporting or leading on aspects of the year-end processes and/ or the annual audit, including producing year-end schedules, accounts and liaising with the auditors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
