Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Reporting to: Director of Qualifications and Responsible Officer

Charity People are delighted to be partnering with a leading Membership Institute in the recruitment for a new Assessment Development Manager. This is a newly created role, in which you will be reporting to the Director of Qualifications & Responsible Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop robust multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and assignment tasks.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all assessments meet regulatory standards and undergo internal reviews to guarantee accuracy and fairness.
  • Project Management: Oversee the full assessment development process, managing deadlines and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work with Examiners, Assessors, Regulatory Bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure assessments are fit for purpose.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit and train subject matter experts to maintain consistency and quality in all assessment materials.
  • Data-Driven Improvements: Utilise assessment data to inform and enhance future assessment development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in developing multiple-choice questions and assignments within a regulated awarding body.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage third-party relationships, such as with examiners/assessors and other subject matter experts
  • In-depth understanding of assessment principles, including validity and reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Collaborative and adaptable mindset, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Education, Assessment, or related fields.
  • Leadership experience in assessment development.
  • Analytical skills to interpret assessment data and drive improvements.
