Every year over 150 children in Yorkshire will be diagnosed with cancer. For over 40 years Candlelighters have existed to bring light and hope to every family affected by childhood cancer by improving treatment, finding cures and by investing in vital research to improve the outcomes and lives of children with cancer.

Candlelighters deliver a range of high-quality family support services for whenever and wherever they are needed, from the point diagnosis, during after treatment, and for those families who are sadly bereaved.

This life changing organisation is looking for an exceptional Senior Regional Fundraiser to join the mighty fundraising team that helps raise the vital funds the charity needs.

The Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Regional Fundraiser to support the fundraising team by generating income, maximising opportunities and building relationships within the Yorkshire community. Duties will include:

  • Leading on the development of the community fundraising strategy
  • Working collaboratively with the fundraising team to achieve targets through shared fundraising activities
  • To proactively engage with the families Candlelighters support, community groups, schools and local businesses
  • To develop excellent fundraising relationships by providing appropriate levels of stewardship and support to donors
  • Delivering presentations and attending third party events where appropriate

The Person

To be considered for this fabulous role you should have experience of community fundraising and meeting fundraising targets. You will have excellent presentation skills and be confident with public speaking. With an ability and desire to build and nurture relationships in various scenarios, you will be confident delivering effective fundraising campaigns and events.

Knowledge of using a CRM database and experience of developing budgets & fundraising plans is essential. It is key that you have the ability to work independently and perhaps most importantly that you are able to remain positive, resilient and flexible when dealing with change. A knowledge of local networks would also be desirable.

This role is a full time, 12-month fixed term contract and offers the opportunity to work flexibly from the office in Leeds, out in the community and from home. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the role.

This particular role is not suitable for family members who are currently receiving support from Candlelighters. This is to ensure they are given the best possible care and support without any potential conflict of interest.
