Job description

Exciting opportunity to Chaperone for under 16 participants at the gala awards ceremony of the world's biggest sustainability film fest & awards at London's iconic venue Curzon Soho.

The role requires you to be available on 8th Nov b/w 2-7pm.

This is a great opportunity to participate in a global event organised by a United Nation CSO that is reaching millions in over 120 countries.

The role will provide you the opportunity to:

Be part of a world leading black-tie event and gala awards with red carpet reception.

  • A great experience to work as a part of a team to deliver the event
  • Contribute towards the success of an event with over 290 guests from media, press, policy, corporates and films
  • Gain experience of working at a large event and great reference from a UN CSO for assisting young people under your care during the event.

We are looking for volunteers with the following attributes:

  • Have experience of chaperoning and hold a current DBS check
  • Experienced in chaperoning young adults in theatre, or events  (preferred)
  • Aware of Safeguarding in an arts, charity or education environment
  • Able to act on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Confidential with sensitive issues and information
  • Able to provide equal and fair treatment and opportunity for all
  • Able to care for individual/s under their care at all time.

The role requires the following

  • Current DBS certificate (essential)
  • Reliable and punctual, with good communication skills
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Respectful of others and their diversity
  • Interested in supporting the work of a United Nations CSO and want to make a difference to peoples lives via the event.

What difference will you make?

At least 85% of people who first came to learn about the UN SDGs via the film festival were not aware of those at all, until now! This can give you an idea of the need for this initiative to educate the common man about the UN SDGs, its significance and the importance of inspiring them to act on the UN SDGs.

Your initiatives will ensure that the film festival gets even more notoriety and visibility, thus improving its ability to educate more people about the UN SDGs, boost the festival's public profile, increase the festival's participation, and enhance the support from individuals and organisations.
