Responsibilities of our Advocacy and Government Relations Officer for Wales:

- Lead engagement with the Welsh Government and MSs

- Support engagement with the UK Parliament

- Monitor parliamentary activity daily and conducting online research

- Preparing position statements and responses to external policy developments

- Developing public-facing charity campaigns including online resources, organising events and delivering presentations

- Media spokesperson for Cats Protection

About the Advocacy team:

You will be working as part of the Advocacy & Government Relations team in the Advocacy & Influence Directorate. The team is made up of 8 members who work across the whole of the UK speaking up for cats. Our campaigns change laws to better protect the health and welfare of cats.

What we’re looking for in our Advocacy and Government Relations Officer for Wales:

- Experience of advocacy, public affairs or influencing work (which may include campaigns), ideally in Wales

- Lives within a commutable distance of Cardiff or willing to relocate to the area

- Experience of policy work and research

- Experience of dealing with high profile/ VIP individuals e.g. Ministers, MSs, MPs, MSPs, MLAs, Government Officials, Local Councillors and officers, corporate executives; professional organisations

- Proven ability to multi-task and work independently on own initiative, accurately and under pressure

- Experience of effective use of social media and the internet in an advocacy/campaign context

- A confident communicator with good written and oral skills; and great people skills

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable

- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office – Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

- Full, valid, UK  driving licence

About the Change team:

The Change and PMO team are a team of 11 and sit within the Finance & Strategy Directorate.  The team are responsible for the design, development and delivery of the more strategic projects and programmes at Cats Protection. It’s a very exciting time to join Cats Protection, with an ambitious 10-year strategy and significant investment in the areas of change and improvement required to get us there. 

Responsibilities of our Change Lead:

- develop and implement change management strategies that align with organisational goals

- engage and represent stakeholders across the organisation throughout change delivery

- support CRM implementation and manage change champions

- lead on communication and engagement planning

- assess change readiness and identify areas of resistance to change

- evaluate the outcomes of change through impact assessments, then develop action plans

- build change knowledge and toolkits, increasing capability, education and awareness of change throughout the organisation

- line management of Change Project Managers and general duties such as managing performance and workload

What we’re looking for in our Change Lead:

- strong understanding and knowledge of change methodology and leading on change activities

- knowledge of project management methodology

- prior experience of leading on change activities, dealing with uncertainty and resistance

- Experience or knowledge of implementing Target Operating Model changes

- line management experience

- experience developing change management plans

- experience producing communication and engagement materials

- experience designing and implementing strategies to facilitate adoption of change

- excellent people skills and a team player with a collaborative approach to working

Team: Community Fundraising

Location: Scotland North (Angus, Aberdeenshire, Moray & South Highlands) 

Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working for events

Salary: Up to £32,013 per annum

Responsibilities of our Community Fundraising Officer:

• This role supports the delivery, growth and reach of community fundraising in a defined geographical location and supports the development and delivery of a local fundraising strategy in line with the organisation’s broader income generation objectives.
• The Community Fundraising Officer will establish, implement, develop and maximize all community fundraising opportunities, increase income, deliver exceptional supporter stewardship and exemplary volunteer management, working collaboratively with the Community Fundraising Hub Manager and Community Fundraising Volunteer Team Leader to build on past successes and develop a diverse pipeline of community fundraising events and activities that respond to local audience needs.
• The role will also build and develop exceptional fundraising relationships with supporters and volunteers within the defined geographical location to harness the power of our local footprint and raise income and awarenes

About the Community Fundraising team:

• We sit within the Community Events team
• Our team is responsible for leading and supporting community activites to drive and grow our community fundraised income.
• We currently have a team of 30+

What we’re looking for in our Community Fundraising Officer:

• Evidence of raising funds in a community fundraising environment
• Planning, organising and delivering campaigns, activities and plans including marketing.
• Evidence of working to and achieving objectives
• Direct experience of working with volunteers 
• A valid UK driving license and access to a car
