We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join as a Senior Central Neutering Manger to lead and identify continuous improvement for our subsidised neutering delivery across UK. This role is 35 hours per week on a 9-month fixed term contract and in return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £48,444 per annum plus excellent benefits.
The role is homebased/remote working and some travel across the UK will be necessary for the role to facilitate meetings, provide presentations and line management of the team. This can be discussed further at interview stage.

Our Central Neutering teams support the administration and supply of our subsidised neutering scheme for owned cats. Providing telephone and email support and advice for members of the public as well as working with external veterinary practices and our volunteers.
Responsibilities of our Senior Central Neutering Manger:
As the Senior Neutering Support and Finance Manager you will lead the team for effective working through continuous improvement and efficiencies for process and resource across the teams. This includes line management of the Neutering Manager and Data officer. You will work with colleagues to shape and manage the future planned delivery of the neutering programme for sustainability. Working within budgeted costs for voucher allocation and forecasting.

Responsibilities of our Deputy Centre Manager:
As Deputy Centre Manager you will be tasked with managing our established Centre in line with Cats Protection’s main aims of homing, neutering and educating. You will ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard that is in keeping with our vision. A flexible approach to working hours including the ability to work weekends will be required as all centre employees are expected to work 50% of weekends and some evenings.
What we’re looking for in our Deputy Centre Manager:
- Supervisor/team leader experience, ideally within an animal welfare environment or organisation
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of the prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats
- A driven, positive and enthusiastic individual with plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure
- Experience of managing a diverse team
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- A full UK, manual or automatic driving licence as you may on occasion be required to drive centre vans

As Retail Business Manager you will lead, manage, coach, and develop a team of Area Retail Managers and shop teams to be the best they can be, to maximise sales income and operating profit, and contribute to the delivery of the Retail and Trading business plan. You will exemplify our organisational values and behaviours while driving a commercial approach to the optimal delivery of operating profit and safe ways of working. You will develop mutually beneficial internal and external stakeholder relationships; lead shop teams in the delivery of retailing excellence, including volunteer engagement and development, social commerce, and sector leading pillars of charity retailing; lead in the development, optimisation and growth of our Retail estate, raising awareness of our brand and promoting our work with cats.
What we’re looking for in our Retail Business Manager:
- Extensive experience of working in a senior operational retail role within the charity sector
- Evidence of change management experience and leadership at a mutli-site level
- Experience of strategic planning and new shop openings
- Experience of setting and managing income, expenditure, and profitability budgets and understanding of profit and loss formats
- Full, valid UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel extensively across defined region, often staying away from home overnight

There are currently six members of the Legacy Team who are responsible for calling in all legacies bequeathed to charity, including those left to our branches and adoption centres throughout the UK. Working with lay and professional Executors, our role is to ensure that we maximise the value of legacies generously bequeathed to the charity by our benefactors.
Responsibilities of our Legacy Officer:
As our Legacy Officer, you’ll be responsible for the management and conducting of residuary, pecuniary, trust and life interest bequests; ensuring the charity’s tax exemptions are utilised correctly; advising Executors of Cats Protection’s requirements with regard to the selling of estate property, appropriation and compliance with the Charities Act 2011 disposal of land legislation and liaising and corresponding with Executors, solicitors and charity co-beneficiaries where appropriate to resolve disputes which could lead to the issuing of legal proceedings
What we’re looking for in our Legacy Officer:
- experience of working within the probate law or charity legacy administration sector
- TEP, ILEX, Law degree or ILM CiCLA.
