Responsibilities of our Senior Financial Accountant:
- To lead and manage the financial accounting function including accounts receivable and payable and VAT with a team of 6
- To oversee financial processing for the whole organisation
- To develop and operate robust financial controls
- To provide cash flow management and forecasting
- To support end to end process ownership and improvement across the Finance function
- To provide support to all finance system users
- To maintain and develop the finance systems
About the Finance team:
- This is a key role within the Operational Finance team which forms part of the wider Finance function of the charity. The wider Finance team is made up of around 25 people.
- We have recently implemented a new Finance system and are looking for opportunities to maximise the benefit of our investment through improved process, data and analysis.
What we’re looking for in our Senior Financial Accountant:
- Experience of managing a team of at least six people
- Experience of building statutory accounts from trial balance and administering accounting software
- Experience of managing a balance sheet
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience of working within the charity sector
- Experience of working with large finance systems
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Excellent organisational skills

Responsibilities of our Head of Data & Analytics:
- The Head of Data & Analytics holds overall responsibility for driving the strategic development of MIG’s supporter data-ecosystem and data services by maximising the efficiency of all fundraising and retail activities.
- This role will lead a highly performing and specialised Data & Analytics team responsible for developing, maintaining and utilising supporter information systems that adhere to sector-wide best practice and legal requirements ensuring analytics are at the heart of fundraising decision-making.
About the Data & Analytics team:
- We sit within the Marketing & Income Generation directorate
- Our team is responsible for providing the Marketing and Income Generation directorate with the data services required to attain its 10-year strategy by delivering an exceptional and reliable centralised support function across data operations and analytics.
- We currently have a team of 12
What we’re looking for in our Head of Data & Analytics:
- Proven track record of building and leading a high performing and technical data and analytics team
- Proven experience of developing data systems and processes to increase efficiencies
- Excellent understanding of fundraising data operations, analytics and compliance
- Experience of setting and managing budgets, strategic and operational plans
- Experience working in the charity sector

Responsibilities of our Individual Giving Manager – Retention
- This role will manage and implement Cats Protection’s individual giving marketing programmes, defining operational plans and budget allocation to develop sustainable income streams for the charity, in line with the income generation strategy
- You will manage a team of 5 and grow the retention and value of individuals supporting the charity, maximizing the life time value of supporters through a programme of retention campaigns such as cash appeals stewardship mailings and newsletters.
About the Individual Giving Team:
- We sit within the Marketing & Income Generation directorate
- Our team is responsible for the recruitment and retention of individual supporters to generate over £22 million each year and provide leads for the other teams in the directorate
- We currently have a team of 13 working across Acquisition and Retention on our Appeals and Raffles, Membership, Sponsorship, Lottery and regular giving programs using Mail, Face to Face, DRTV, email, Digital, Social and other paid media
What we’re looking for in our Individual Giving Manager – Retention
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful retention and stewardship strategies with a multi-channel, multi product approach.
- Strong background in data-driven activity, with experience of effective segmentation, targeting and optimisation to maximise ROI
- Experienced in managing complex multi-product supporter journeys, maximising ROI by ensuring resource is invested effectively across multiple campaigns and different audience segments
- Experience of planning and managing significant income and expenditure budgets and achieving agreed financial targets and other KPIs

Responsibilities of our Senior Management Accountant:
- Responsible for the provision and development of management reporting
- Provide financial insight and expertise to support well-informed financial decision-making and delivery for the charity’s plans
- Facilitate and manage the budget and forecast processes, produce monthly management accounts and reports
- Develop strong working relationships across the charity, building business partnering capability in the team and ensuring high quality support and expertise is provided to all directorates
- Manage the Management Accountant team of five management accountants
- Work constructively with the Senior Financial Accountant to ensure processes and priorities are aligned across the whole for the Finance team
About the Finance team:
- Responsible for managing the financial operations of the Charity
- Plays a vital role in the organisation’s success by ensuring sound financial management, better informed decision making and supporting delivery of the overall strategy
- Responsibility for key tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting and analysis
- The Management Accountant team are a team of five, reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, all of whom support the Head of Budgeting & Reporting
- The wider Finance team includes the Operational Finance team, including AP, financial accounting and payroll
What we’re looking for in our Senior Management Accountant::
- CCAB qualified accountant
- Experience working with accounting software and systems
- Experience working in a senior Management Accountant role in a large organisation (250+ employees)
- Experience working with budget holders as well as providing support and advice around financial management issues
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly in Excel
- Excellent people management, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
