Working Pattern: 21 Hours ( 3 Days a Week)

With community work spanning three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all walks of life.

Main Purpose of Job

To coordinate and lead the implementation and delivery of a sports, social and employability programme for Deaf & Disabled young people across West London.

The post holder will split their time between coordinating the project, and leading on delivery of the sessions, which will be a mixture of sports sessions, social clubs, and employability sessions, designed to prepare participants for the workplace.

Responsibilities will include 

  • To increase participation in sport for teenagers and young adults who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or have a disability.
  • To increase social opportunities for teenagers and young adults who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or have a disability.
  • To create and provide employability opportunities for Deaf/Hard of Hearing and disabled teenagers and young adults, including training courses and volunteering opportunities.
  • Use Deaf/Disability-friendly communication to publicise and co-ordinate the Project.
  • To help build the team of staff to effectively deliver the Project, including assisting with recruitment of new coaches and volunteers.
  • Train coaches, support workers and partners in basic BSL and Deaf Awareness.
  • To encourage partnership work across West London to ensure a coordinated approach to all Deaf and Disability activity participation across the region.
  • To ensure monitoring reports are completed to a high standard and in a timely fashion, as per funder’s monitoring guidelines.

About You

You will have at  least two years’ experience of working with teenagers/young adults who are Deaf or disabled and previous experience in delivery Deaf or disability activity programmes. You will have a good understanfing of  the issues faced by Deaf and disabled participants and their families related to activity provision and attendance.

You will have the ability to work to deadlines and have good time mangement. Good organisational skills are essential.
