Job description

About us

We’re Breast Cancer Now, the research and support charity. We’re the place to turn to for anything and everything to do with breast cancer. However you’re experiencing breast cancer, we’re here.

The brightest minds in breast cancer research are here. Making life-saving research happen in labs across the UK and Ireland. Support services, trustworthy breast cancer information and specialist nurses are here. Ready to support you whenever you need it. Dedicated campaigners are here. Fighting for the best possible treatment, services and care for anyone affected by breast cancer.

About the role

Thousands of people in our communities are affected by breast cancer, and many of these are compelled to help by fundraising for Breast Cancer Now. To enable us to best support our network of fundraisers and create a sector leading programme, we've recently reconfigured our community fundraising team.

This role is all about leadership and strategy development and implementation. You’ll lead your team to new heights of success, providing expert and unwavering support.

You’ll spearhead the development of your region and country’s community fundraising programme. Innovating, adapting and learning, this role will build sustainable income from new audiences and loyal supporters.

This dynamic role will see you lead on a range of activities such as marketing, supporter thanking, reward and recognition and supporter engagement events. You’ll also manage the community fundraising operations team, who are responsible for mass market DIY fundraising along with analysis, reporting and fulfilment.

You’ll manage a team of six, including two line reports. You’ll nurture and inspire them to excel in their roles, empowering them to take an active role in how we do things.

When it comes to supporter experience, your aim is sector leading standards. This role cares deeply about providing exceptional stewardship and relationship management, delighting our supporters and increasing their lifetime value.

About you

You are person centred and passionate about the difference your skills, experience and tenacity can make. Strategically minded, you’ll be driven by success, believe in going the extra mile and enjoy a varied, fast paced role.

You’ll embrace the challenge of ‘building back’ in your area and growing relationship fundraising. Ideally, you’ll have a good understanding of mass market DIY fundraising too, including supporter journeys, data processes, reporting and analysis.

Your love of teamwork and the art of inspiring your team to achieve amazing results will shine through all that you do. You’ll also love the buzz of creating new income and smashing targets.

Your previous experience could be in community fundraising or another fundraising discipline but whatever your background, your success in leading teams and increasing income will make you perfect for this rewarding role.
