About the role

This role will lead the involvement of people with lived experience of cancer in key projects and decision-making within Macmillan. As a Participation Manager, you will lead cross-organisational business partnering to shape and deliver strategic projects that embed meaningful participation across Macmillan's work, aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives. You will scope and identify opportunities for participation with a focus on understanding the needs of Macmillan teams and people with lived experience of cancer.

You will lead the outcomes-focused design and delivery of projects requiring expertise in participation, ensuring that these projects provide rewarding opportunities for people living with cancer to shape Macmillan’s work and a high quality experience for participants. You will use your excellent understanding of equity by design to ensure that opportunities are inclusive and accessible to people with a wide range of needs and diverse lived experiences.

Working closely with colleagues across the Communities and Participation Team and the wider Communities and System Partnerships division, you will leverage existing lived experience networks and community relationships to drive change with and for people living with cancer through strategic programmes of work. You will join and lead matrix teams to deliver participation programmes involving community partnerships. You will think creatively about how to sustainably embed participation across key areas of the organisation including external affairs, corporate partnerships, campaigns, and governance.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to join our team of six Strategic Partnership Advisors across England. In this role, you will support key partners, including Active Partnerships, National Governing Bodies of Sport, local authorities, and leisure providers to become more effective in their role of enabling more disabled people to be active.

You will possess a strong understanding of the sport and activity sector, including its operations, and be able to advocate for improvements that help more disabled people become active. We are looking for an individual with experience of working strategically at a place based and/or locality level within the South West region. Someone who can positively influence local developments, systems and investments to tackle the inequalities disabled people face in sport and activity through inclusive practice.

The successful candidate will work remotely from home and be based in the South West region. This role will involve travel across the region and occasional travel to our Loughborough and Manchester offices.

The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving the operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and strategic growth of Well Grounded. About the roles:

Very soon, we'll be launching the brand-new Shadsworth Youth Hub, a flagship, purpose-built space created with and for local young people and their families. As Community Programmes Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of this. You'll lead the delivery of impactful youth and community programmes across three key sites: The Shadsworth Youth Hub (including your office base), The Shadsworth Community Hub, and the Greensleeves Community Allotment, a brilliant green space for sustainable activity and connection. What You'll Be Doing: You'll lead a dedicated delivery team and oversee the development of programmes that reflect local needs and aspirations. Key responsibilities include:

People Leadership & Team Development: Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team across multiple delivery sites. Champion a strong, inclusive team culture. Promote staff wellbeing and uphold safeguarding best practice

Programme Management & Delivery: Plan and oversee youth and community programmes across Shadsworth and East Lancashire. Ensure services are high-quality, inclusive, and responsive to local needs. Embed continuous improvement through reflection, evaluation, and feedback.

Partnerships & Community Engagement: Build collaborative partnerships with schools, community groups, funders, and local agencies. Represent Newground Together in networks and external forums. Support co-designed and co-delivered services with local partners.

Financial & Operational Oversight: Manage project budgets and reporting. Contribute to funding bids and business planning. Oversee premises, health and safety, and site logistics.

Performance Monitoring & Strategic Input: Lead on reporting, quality assurance, and outcome tracking. Contribute to strategic planning and service development. Identify gaps or under-performance and lead on solutions

We are seeking a confident and experienced individual who brings:

• A strong background in youth work, community development or a related field
• Demonstrable experience of team management and people development
• A commitment to equality, inclusion and strengths-based working with diverse communities
• The ability to lead, plan and deliver services within multi-agency settings
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships
• Budget and contract management experience, with strong organisational and administrative skills
• A flexible and proactive approach, including willingness to work some evenings/weekends
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Relevant qualification

• Starting salary: £39,298 per year
• Annual Leave: 27 days rising to 32 with service, plus bank holidays
• Hybrid working model: Approx. 80% in-person, 20% home-based (depending on the needs of the service and your team)

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, health, sports participation and community engagement. The Trust has won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff. 

The Role:

We are passionate about using sport as a hook to engage communities and inspire them to be more active and socially connected.

We are looking for an ambitious, personable and experienced Senior Project Coordinator who can work with a proactive approach to coordinate and deliver impactful programmes that improve health outcomes, with a specific focus on mental health.

The Health and Wellbeing Senior Project Coordinator will oversee a portfolio of high quality, accessible community-based programmes including Active Minds and Being Mee, working with specific target groups including children of primary and secondary school age. They will also support with the Food, Sports and Men’s health project, designed to explore the connections between food, body image and eating challenges with a focus on men’s experiences.

In addition, we are opening a Clubhouse Café in Gunnersbury Park in Summer 2025 and the successful candidate will work on innovative social impact programmes linked to the Clubhouse Café. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, forward-thinking department and play a pivotal role in improving health outcomes through new and existing projects.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and enjoy working with autonomy. They will also be confident working in a fast-paced environment and will have efficient time management skills. Innovative approaches to session design and promotion of activities to varying target audiences will be important as well as building networks and inspiring engagement.

Capacity to work some unsociable hours including evenings and weekends is necessary.
