An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Senior Campaigns and Public Affairs Officer to lead the Healthy Air Coalition’s campaigns and influencing activities.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. As part of our clean air work we act as the Secretariat for the Healthy Air Coalition, a campaigning collective of leading health, environment and transport organisations with the shared vision of a UK free from toxic air.

In this position you will play a leading role for the coalition’s public affairs and influencing work, achieving meaningful policy change by utilising the strength of our diverse membership. With strong experience in political advocacy, you will help to grow air pollution as political priority amongst politicians and ensure that the views of the Healthy Air Coalition and its members are steering government policy on this important issue.

You will engage with MPs and build relationships with political advisors. You will also work to build alignment on policy between organisations, to ensure the sector is speaking with a united voice.

To be successful in this role, you will have previously influenced policy and working with politicians to make things happen. You will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is able to manage complex projects and balance priorities in a varied policy environment. You will have an excellent understanding and proven track record of political influencing, as well as expertise or a demonstrable interest in environment and/or health policy.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.
