Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is seeking a Comms Manager who is passionate about improving life for the LGBT+ community in the UK.
Founded in 1982, Galop has been championing the needs and safety of the LGBT+ community for 40 years. Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.
We run a National Abuse & Violence Helpline, which brings together our four national support helplines for LGBT+ victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; rape and sexual abuse; and so-called “conversion therapy”. We provide longer-term support to thousands of LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse through our advocacy and therapeutic services. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change, to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research around LGBT+ people’s experiences of abuse and violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT+ people around the country.
About the Comms Manager
The Comms Manager is a strategic, hands-on and varied role that reports into our Head of Fundraising and Comms. You will play a pivotal part in helping Galop to reach our community, increase engagement amongst our supporters and amplify the voices of LGBT+ abuse and violence victims.
You will be our first point of contact with the press and media, and lead on drafting statements, providing quotes, arranging media and briefing the CEO for any external appearances.
You will have responsibility and oversight of our social media channels and website content, working closely with key stakeholders across our fundraising, frontline and senior management teams to meet the needs of the charity and create content which resonates with our audience.
You will work with and support the CEO and Head of Fundraising and Comms to drive internal comms as Galop grows. You will also be responsible for co-creating, planning and delivering an annual communications plan for the organisation with the senior leadership team, ensuring an effective and consistent voice in both our proactive and reactive comms work.
The need for Galop’s work has grown in recent years, and this is an exciting time to join our ambitious team and help shape our charity’s future. Due to the nature of the role, in cases of emergencies or urgent external situations, weekend or evening work may occasionally be required.

We are delighted to have secured funding to set up and establish a robust impact and data collection process and database so that clear outcomes can be measured and collected for the different areas within our adoption support services. Working alongside Adoption Support colleagues, the Database Officer will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the database, ensuring data is kept up to date as well as inputting, monitoring and evaluating data and service user details. The Database Officer will produce comprehensive and tailored reports using both qualitative and quantitative data, derived from the new monitoring and evaluation system. These evidence-based reports are produced for a variety of audiences and will contribute to evidencing the effectiveness of PACT’s adoption support services.
We are looking for someone with previous experience in an administrative support role, with database and/or data capture administration experience. To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in producing reports from a database with a keen eye for accuracy and detail and have strong data analysis skills with an ability to derive meaningful insights.

About the role:
This role is based in Preston. We offer the option of hybrid working after completing an initial probation period. 22.5 hours a week working a shift pattern of 9am-5pm and 10:30am - 6:30pm, Wednesday to Friday.
As a Triage and early Intervention Officer you will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. Providing immediate and short term intervention via telephone to anyone impacted by crime.

The client is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. As part of an exciting new phase of the project, they are looking to appoint a Chaplaincy Assistant to support the chaplaincy teams within three Bolton CE Secondary schools (within the Bishop Fraser Trust MAT) and to support a local parish in growing their youth ministry.
The Chaplaincy Assistant will support the development of Christian discipleship pathways for young people within school and parish contexts. As part of their role, the Chaplaincy Assistant will work alongside other Chaplaincy Assistants and School Chaplains within the Bishop Fraser Multi Academy Trust to create new opportunities for spiritual growth. The Chaplaincy Assistant will also work as part of the wider team on a range of youth initiatives including youth gatherings, youth weekends, and a Year 6 transition programme.
The Chaplaincy Assistant will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to launch new initiatives for young people. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to welcoming young people into the life of the church. They will also benefit from working with the wider chaplaincy team within the Bishop Fraser Multi Academy Trust.
The post holder should have some experience in youth work and working or volunteering in a church and/or school context. To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated, and able to lead in a range of different contexts. They will be excellent communicators with good interpersonal skills. They will be able to build and maintain effective working partnerships and have a working understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
