SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER  

Fixed term July 2025

Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker.

A crisis café offers a safe and welcoming place for individuals who are struggling with emotional and mental wellbeing.

 You will support and oversee the crisis café along with managing the support worker

This is a fantastic service, that offers comfort to individuals in need. The role of a Senior Support Worker can be emotionally and physically demanding, but the rewards are often well worth the hard work. To be successful in this job, you'll need to have core healthcare skills such as patience, empathy, compassion, and mental resilience.

The cafe will operate each Monday 9am – 1.30pm & each Friday 12pm-4.30pm

Key Skills :

 Formal qualification relating to mental health

Experience of working with people with mental health needs

Knowledge of issues & techniques relevant to delivering support   

People manager skills

Friendly & personable

Work within professional boundaries

Ability to manage & coach individuals  

Excellent organisational skills.

Ability to multitask

Good IT skills

Thorough attention to detail

Empathy & situational awareness

Knowledge of safeguarding issues

Sensitivity and understanding

Ability to work within a multicultural environment

9 hours per week

Salary £6344.76 per annum
