Caseworkers

Advocate is a national charity which matches volunteer barristers eager to undertake pro bono work with those who need legal assistance but cannot obtain public funding (legal aid) and cannot afford to pay for it.

We are looking for two caseworkers, a triage caseworker and a general caseworker. The triage caseworker's role is to deal with all new applications and to make early and rapid assessments of the presenting problem, efficiently and effectively identifying issues and ensuring that applicants can progress through our system. The general caseworker will oversee a caseload covering all areas of law, liaising with both applicants and barristers to try and find legal assistance from our panel of volunteers. 

Both roles are full-time, permanent positions. You are expected to work 35 hours per week (excluding lunch break) Monday – Friday. We operate a hybrid working policy which currently means a minimum of 2 days attendance in our office based in St Paul's, although we hope the successful triage candidate will be able to attend the office 3 days a week to deal with posted applications and other legal documents.
