The Bridge Renewal Trust in partnership with Haringey GP Federation and North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group are delivering a new Pan-Haringey Diabetes Care Navigation Service. 

As a Care Navigator, you will provide support to people whose diabetes is not well managed or who are not engaging with health professionals, in particular, deprived and vulnerable groups within this cohort. You will support people to access diabetes information and/or education in their own language, improve their ability to navigate the health and care system and improve their confidence to self-manage their condition. This is a new and exciting approach to working with people with diabetes in Haringey.

Position: Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)

RASASC is a registered charity which has been providing support to survivors of rape and sexual abuse of all genders (both recent and non-recent) and young people aged over 13, from across Surrey since 1992.

We provide an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service. ISVAs support survivors to help them overcome the abuse they have suffered and to rebuild their lives. This service also includes supporting the survivor to seek justice through the judicial system, should the survivor wish.

We also provide one-to-one counselling, group work, youth counselling and a family support programme, and a national Telephone Helpline.

Volunteers are an important part of the work we do. Volunteers staff our Helpline and many of our qualified counsellors work on a voluntary basis with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

ISVA

ISVAs are survivor-focused advocates, who support survivors of recent and non-recent rape and sexual abuse to enable them to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse they have experienced. An ISVA provides individual support and this will vary from client to client.  

This role is based at the RASASC Guildford office and will work across Surrey. The ISVA must have a full driving licence and use of a car that can be used for work purposes.

You will be part of a dedicated, experienced, and friendly team consisting of Eleven ISVAs. The ISVAs meet fortnightly for peer support and work collaboratively with each other to share knowledge. Each ISVA has a lead area of responsibility in addition to your caseload supporting a range of clients.

You will be provided with monthly clinical supervision and attend monthly one-to-one meetings with the ISVA team leader.

Job Description

• To support survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
• It is the responsibility of the ISVA to impartially advise the client on all options open to them, such as the Criminal Justice System, SARC, GUM clinic and other local services.
• The ISVAs are expected to balance a caseload that includes survivors progressing through the criminal justice process as well as survivors that have decided not to report, or who are no longer in the criminal justice process.
• The ISVA will be based at Guildford RASASC but will be expected to travel throughout Surrey.
• The ISVA is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those in this document, as the job description cannot cover every issue which may arise within the post.

 Key Tasks

· The ISVA will provide a survivor-focused, independent service, distinct from the role of a crisis worker or counsellor.

· Undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with survivor and develop a support plan for the survivor.

· To provide advice and support across a wide range of issues, such as housing, health and education, that will help to support the survivor and ensure their ongoing safety in the aftermath of the abuse.

· Manage caseload and maintain necessary case files and records including monitoring information as required under funding conditions and by RASASC.

· To provide expert advice and support in relation to issues and the impact of rape and sexual abuse on this client group to other members of the ISVA team as well as the wider RASASC team. 

The ISVA will be required to undertake accredited training specifically designed to support them in delivering this service. This training is delivered virtually and is over six modules. Each module is taught over two consecutive days to minimise the amount of time ISVAs are away.

Personal Specification

About the role:

The role of Music and Performing Arts Coordinator will be delivered through two distinct spaces: The Music Room (including a recording studio) and a Performing Arts Studio. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) is the charity for the 110,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK.  We bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions.  We provide vital information, advice, resources and support for people with these conditions, their families and the professionals who work with them. Our care, information and advocacy service coordinate our support for families, providing advice and practical support to enable individuals to access the services, benefits and equipment they are entitled to. As part of our support, we also connect individuals with others affected by these rare conditions through our peer support networks.

Working in partnership with the local authority and charities, our advisors will work for funded projects, with a mixture of co-location and outreach work so you can work closely and make a difference.  Advising residents on debt options, benefits, negotiating with creditors and supporting with budgets and working with funders to identify clients and interventions which will benefit from the service. May need to do home visiting.

You will need excellent communication skills, enjoy working with people but able to manage a case mix. You will support the development of local volunteers and feed into social policy; building evidence of the impact of your work.  Whilst the ideal candidate will have experience of benefits or debt, training can be provided for the right candidate who can show the skills and attributes or the role.

Citizens Advice in West Sussex (north, south, east) are a local charity who give free independent advice in West Sussex and are looking for an experienced Housing Solicitor to develop an exciting new housing casework project and pro bono programme.

You must be self-motivator and highly organised with a drive to grow a new project and deliver high quality and hit the ground running.  You will need to meet the Legal Aid Agency Housing Law requirements and have experience of the Specialist Quality Mark in delivering housing casework. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of vulnerable clients, excellent negotiations skills to prevent homelessness, advocate for tenants, provide court representation and take a holistic approach so client needs are met. You will be able to work independently and able to manage your time to supervise pro bono students and corporate placements, work with engagement teams to demonstrate the impact of this project and develop funding opportunities.
