AAUK are are seeking a Senior Women's Rights Advocacy Advisor with a passionate about championing women’s rights on a global stage.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of women and girls worldwide by advocating for change where it matters most. As our Senior Advocacy Adviser, you will be at the forefront of shaping our advocacy strategies to promote women’s rights and influence key decision-makers. You will play a pivotal role in driving ActionAid’s voice and campaigns to ensure that women’s economic rights, safety, equality, and freedom from violence are prioritised in humanitarian contexts. 

Working closely with teams across ActionAid UK, you will help develop and implement innovative advocacy plans, build strategic relationships with influential leaders, and ensure our messaging is powerful and coherent. In this role, you will also lead efforts to advance ActionAid’s thematic priorities, focusing on humanitarian responses and combating violence against women and girls. You will work with a network of passionate professionals and partners, including feminist movements and women’s & girls rights organisations, to amplify our impact and champion the rights of women and girls globally. 

 

Some of the Key areas of activity or skills required will be;

  • External relationship building with influencers
  • Strategic Development and implementation
  • Positioning development
  • Women’s rights network building

 

We are looking for someone with a deep commitment to women’s rights and proven experience in advocacy and policy influence. Your understanding of humanitarian response policy, alongside your ability to develop strategic relationships and navigate complex political environments, will be critical in this role. ActionAid UK has a hybrid working policy for many of our roles.  The requirement will vary from team to team and the responsibilities of individual roles.  As a minimum, all colleagues are expected to attend the office 12 days per year, plus additional time for induction, training, and “Company Connection days.”  Some roles may require in-office attendance on all days and if so, these will clearly be marked as in-office roles.
