We’re looking for a highly skilled and organised administrator to join our Retail Transport team for a 9-month fixed term contract.

Providing excellent customer service, you will be first point of contact for our Retail colleagues and van drivers.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• administering DBS compliance for all logistics service providers, ensuring adherence to BHF policy
• supporting all administration and queries around the rollout of MyVan project and being a reference point for all users
• managing our database system to ensure legal and BHF compliance of van driver data and identifying trends
• supporting processes related to payments to Van Drivers and administration of the BHF Leased Fleet
• reporting and dealing with queries and troubleshooting problems

IT proficient, with experience using MS Office and databases, you will support the Transport team to ensure work is carried out efficiently and within agreed timescales, meeting the set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Your commitment to excellence will contribute to the smooth operation of our transport services, and you’ll collaborate closely with the Transport Operations Manager and Head of Retail Transport and Logistics.

This is a blended role, where your work will be split between your home and our Sheffield office, S21 4JH (2-3 days per week).  

About you

The successful candidate will be IT literate and have demonstrated experience of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You’ll have experience of effectively dealing with conflicting priorities and deadlines and of providing high quality office and communication facilitation.

With excellent communication skills you'll be able to work as part of a team to ensure the BHF fleet runs in a safe and effective manner. You’ll be able to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll have previous experience of DBS administration and compliance databases. A basic knowledge of transport legislation, with regards to van compliance, would be beneficial.

As an Accounts and Business Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations within the organisation. We're recruiting for someone to lead our Capacity Building & Standards (CB&S) function on a maternity cover contract.

The CB&S function aims to build the capacity of organisations and institutions to embed the processes, skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public engagement in decision making. This includes work in the public, private and third sectors.On a practical level this includes developing and delivering training courses and mentoring programmes; setting up and supporting networks; authoring good practice guides and thought leadership pieces; being responsible for our Knowledge Base and tools; leading sector-wide standards development; and, managing and other programmes and projects that supports the embedding of public participation and engagement in the UK. 

In this role you will lead the CB&S team in the development, design and delivery of impactful and sustainable capacity building and standards setting programmes and projects. You will oversee the work of the function and quality direct work of around 10 people (both CB&S team and cross-function roles). You will be a member of our management team, be accountable for the function achieving its objectives, report on function performance to the board and oversee the implementation of our impact framework supported by the impact working group.

We work across the UK, with offices in Belfast and London. Many of our staff work from home across the UK or in a hybrid pattern, rather than being based at one of our offices, though we meet up regularly as a team

We're recruiting for someone to lead our public engagement work on climate and nature and ensure that the public are involved in critical decisions on how to reach net zero and protect the future of nature and land in the UK.

Climate change is one of those big challenges and is a policy area where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital.  It, and Net Zero in particular, risk becoming a polarised and politicised issue where there is little room for considered, inclusive decision making. 

This exciting role will lead and coordinate our work with institutions, and others, to find a way through difficult issues like low emission zones, the energy transition, industrialisation of green spaces and other challenges in a way that centres the people who are impacted, with a social justice and equity lens. This role will primarily sit within our Innovation and Practice (I&P) function - focused on practical delivery of public engagement such as citizen assemblies, juries and other deliberative processes. The successful candidate will lead several of our major climate change and nature projects, including the UKRI Net Zero Living project - working with 28 Councils to embed meaningful public participation in their route to net zero. You will also contribute to the training, standards setting and advocacy work that Involve does - maintaining and growing our reputation in climate and environment networks and communicating the contribution we can make and impact that we are having.

We have a significant track record in public deliberation on climate change. We ran the first Climate Assembly in the UK and have since delivered many projects in this area including the People’s Plan for Nature. We have developed a reputation for best practice public dialogue, deliberation and capacity building. We want to grasp the opportunity for deliberative practices to make a real contribution to the change needed to respond to the climate crisis. This is a great opportunity to play a central role in taking this work forward. We are looking for someone to bring experience in designing and running participatory and deliberative processes and a good understanding of the complexities and challenges of climate and/or nature. You will need to be committed to taking a collaborative approach -  co-creating and coordinating our strategy on public engagement across the organisation and build on the work that others are doing.

As Head of Programmes, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the quality, delivery and impact of all our capacity-building programmes. You will be key in managing our stakeholder relationships, including our pool of Associates, grant funders and consultancy clients. You will be responsible for stewarding and developing our existing training offer securing an annual trading income of up to £140k and a grant income of £300k (60% of which is already secured for 25/26 with more in the pipeline).

You will need commercial nous, grant fundraising expertise, the ability to develop and manage programmes, and the confidence to influence and support clients and donors. Using your knowledge of change and strategy, you will develop creative and agile programmes and ensure they are continuously being improved in a fast-changing field.
