Role Responsibilities
Strategy and planning
• Deliver the existing Community and Events strategy and maximise opportunities for income growth
• Identify and develop new income generating opportunities across Community and Events Fundraising, devising new events and engagement opportunities
• Develop, implement and monitor against KPIs, annual plans, and income and expenditure budgets, ensuring targets are met with robust analysis and reporting
Income growth, event and supporter management
• Proactively manage all aspects of Community & Events Fundraising to increase our supporter base and maximise income, supported by the Events and Community Officer
• operational management of all income and expenditure ensuring sound ROI.
• Develop and deliver supporter journeys that raise average fundraising per head, decreases drop-outs and increases repeat entry
• Implement new digital and value exchange fundraising streams
• Optimise the Family Fund programme to strengthen commitment and fundraising potential of existing Family Funds, and enable recruitment of new Funds
• Deliver excellent support to fundraising groups and recruit new volunteers to fundraise and advocate on behalf of the charity
• Work collaboratively across the charity to facilitate cross-selling opportunities and engaging supporters in other fundraising opportunities, in particular working with the corporate team to recruit participants and support propositions at corporate fairs.
Fundraising events management
• Manage delivery of the event portfolio to achieve financial and sign-up targets, delivering effective on the-day support for event participants. This includes ensuring our events are accessible for visually impaired participants
• Deliver excellent supporter care to ensure supporters are motivated to achieve (and exceed) their fundraising targets, feel valued and build engagement with us
• Key point of contact for high level event participants and community fundraisers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails – providing timely and personalised support
• Support the Events and Community Officer with enquiries, applications and registrations for challenge events, ensuring high levels of conversion, and capturing relevant supporter data
• Support the Head of Community and Engagement, or other teams within Fight for Sight with the successful delivery of key special events, including fundraising gala dinners or receptions, virtual events and mini conferences, and third party or established supporter events.
• When required, support the Events and Community Officer in managing guest lists, enquiries, and ticket sales for special/major donor events and receptions, delivering a seamless guest experience and timely follow-ups supporter care and relationship management
Marketing
• Oversee all paid Facebook advertising activity for events, updating web listings, and utilising our networks
• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to raise awareness/increase recruitment across all activities, highlighting case studies and media stories
• Develop and deliver effective and engaging content, and materials for supporters to increase recruitment, retention, and average fundraising amounts
• Oversee the creation and delivery of quarterly events e-newsletter, plus additional e-blasts
Managing information and reporting
• Work with the Database Manger to ensure accurate records within our CRM system (ThankQ) and management of income from online and offline giving
• Carry out post-event evaluations, analysing supporter data help facilitate greater levels of income
• Support other areas by attending events, exhibitions etc. as required by a small team with varied responsibilities

Leadership & management
• Provide excellent leadership and line management of direct reports, ensuring that team members meet their individual objectives, develop and grow in their roles, and are motivated and high performing
• Work as part of the fundraising senior management team, alongside the Director and Head of Community and Engagement to devise, deliver and implement the team’s strategy and the organisation’s strategic plan

Person specification
Desirable skills, knowledge & experience
• Minimum five years of experience of events and community fundraising, in particular with developing overseas or large-scale mass participant events.
• Experience with recruiting new volunteers and fundraisers from a range of community groups including but not limited to faith-based fundraising, schools and street collections.
• Meeting income targets of over £350,000.
• Experience with managing senior volunteers within fundraising groups and building excellent rapport with them.
• Liaising at all levels with the ability to motivate and inspire others to support financially.

Supporter Experience Officer

The Role
The Supporter Experience Officer is responsible for giving supporters a fulfilling and enjoyable relationship with the charity. They deepen supporter relationships and strengthen sources of income by working strategically across the whole supporter journey.
Main responsibilities include:
• Oversee programmes of regular giving and incorporate positive ‘wow’ moments into the supporter journey
• Ensure a dynamic two-way engagement with supporters
• Manage and deliver a quality supporter thanking process, including reviewing and maintaining thank you letter copy and processes, in liaison with the Supporter Services department
• Create and develop effective welcome strategies for new supporters across different channels
• Implement effective processes to ensure supporters are developing in their giving relationship

Job Purpose
The Ruth Strauss Foundation is looking to grow its fundraising team and this role will play a pivotal part in developing Individual Giving for the organisation. This role will lead the Individual Giving and Legacy programme, responsible for building the database of regular givers, introducing new campaigns and products to acquire new donors and increase retention rates and lifetime donor value.
This role will be responsible for developing a supporter centric marketing strategy generating a supporter journey which drives excellent supporter experience, creating a RSF family of donors. This role will develop products for in memory fundraising and build our legacy programme from scratch, developing a legacy fundraising strategy and subsequent comms plan and journey.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish business rules for recording Individual giving data on Salesforce to ensure that future analysis of the programme is robust and reliable
- Introduce new fundraising campaigns to reach new audiences and re-engage with existing donors
- Project management and delivery of existing Individual giving campaigns
- Introduce new individual giving campaigns to the portfolio, identifying key opportunities in the year using audience understanding, aligning with RSF’s strategy
- Work closely with gift in wills organisations to grow RSF’s legacy fundraising, reaching new audiences, connecting with solicitors across the UK
- Work with the Head of Finance to develop a legacy administration process
- Budget management and post activity delivery metric analysis, ensuring a robust contingency planning process is in place
- Development of fundraising collateral in conjunction with campaigns/products
- Coordinate the marketing requirements for each activity, producing pre and post communications/marketing collateral – including working with external production companies where required
- Set up product/campaign processes including fulfilment and supporter stewardship
- Ensure all individual giving and legacy activities are compliant with fundraising code of conduct, GDPR and other IG processes/policies
- Conduct regular sector wide and competitor research to stay ahead of trends and maximiseopportunities for RSF

Expertise required
- Exceptional experience of managing an individual giving programme, managing a range of campaigns/products of varying size and scale including acquisition activity, warm appeals and reactivation
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget management, project management and prioritisation.
- Excellent data analytical skills, able to set up processes to capture data and analyse data to ensure strategic decisions are based on audience insight and analysis
- Experience of developing plans and budgets, and reporting against financial targets and key performance indicators
- Experience working with CRM systems and project planning tools
- Excellent communication skills – able to utilise data analysis to produce compelling fundraising communications, understanding supporter motivations, engaging audiences to generate fundraising growth.

About the Ruth Strauss Foundation
In early 2018, Ruth Strauss, the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, was diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. Ruth died on December 29th 2018; she was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.

The Bedford MS Therapy Centre is a thriving local charity that provides therapies, exercise sessions and support to people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions.
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Fundraising and Corporate Liaison Officer to help grow the charity's income. You will be organised, with excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. THE ROLE OF FUNDRAISING AND CORPORATE LIAISON OFFICER WILL INCLUDE:
Corporate and Community Liaison and Networking (50% of the role):
· Work closely with the Senior Fundraiser to develop and implement a fundraising strategy that maximises both corporate fundraising and community fundraising.
· For corporate fundraising, the focus will be on identifying local businesses with a charitable mindset and contacting them with a view to securing corporate sponsorships and partnerships, as well as ‘Charity of the Year’ support.
· For community fundraising, you will identify and engage with community groups, local sport clubs, gyms, schools, etc., to create fundraising opportunities, including confidently presenting the Centre at talks and events.
· Encourage personal fundraising efforts within the local community by organising challenge events and supporting individuals in their own fundraising initiatives.
· Attend networking meetings to identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities.
Marketing: (15% of the role)

The Role

- Oversee and write compelling applications for funding that are tailored to each recipient and make a convincing case for how their support with help more young people achieve their gateway qualifications.

Team Management and Collaboration
- Provide effective line management of our Fundraising Officer to support their personal development and successful delivery of their role.
