The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

The Income Generation Coordinator will scope and track new and existing funding opportunities across the UK and actively seek funding for our pipeline of projects. About the role:

The Criminal Justice IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose domestic abuse cases are going through the police and criminal justice system and risk to children is a factor.  You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response and early intervention to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the community safety unit within the police, working with police professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from police and court at every stage. Attend the weekly specialist domestic violence court in Westminster as a domestic abuse agency representative to obtain court outcomes, support efficient case progression and seeking opportunity to increase survivor safety at every stage of the court process.

The IMPACT project was established over 10 years ago and has been working in partnership in Hammersmith and Fulham aiming to improve integrated working between criminal justice agencies from the point of reporting an incident to court and beyond; to reduce attrition through earlier intervention and improved outcomes for victims/survivors and their children; and to hold more perpetrators to account through the justice system. The IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services.  The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.  

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

To be successful as the Criminal Justice IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to women referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning, criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, and children’s legislation.

Your abilities extends to assessing the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs.Advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and proactively advocate to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced. You will work as an advocate and educator to raise awareness and upskill professionals within Children Social Care plus work with colleagues to successfully develop and deliver training.

The organisation operates a hybrid working policy, 2 days in the office with Tuesday as a fixed day for this role.

Reporting directly to the Head of Internal Services, the Finance Officer will be responsible for providing financial administration and bookkeeping for the Trust and the trading subsidiary (Third Age Trust Trading Limited) TATTL. The role also plays a pivotal role in providing support and expertise to the finance team and wider staff body and finally, managing/reconciling the income streams for both Trust and TATTL. In addition, the post holder will liaise with the Trust CEO and Head of Internal Services to prepare the monthly payroll, liaise with the payroll agency, input monthly HMRC (NI/PAYE) payments to the bank and produce the VAT returns for the Trust and TATTL and will take a lead on completing the consolidated VAT return on a quarterly basis. You will also be responsible for managing the finance inbox, reviewing external and internal enquiries, troubleshooting, and escalating issues as required. You will also take responsibility for ensuring that expenses and invoices are compiled correctly ahead of time.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar position and have strong numeracy and analysis skills. AAT qualified or part qualified the ideal candidate will be comfortable with financial administration and will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail. Experience of processing VAT returns is not essential but desirable for this exciting opportunity. The right candidate will be highly organised with excellent time management skills and will have the ability to work to tight deadlines.

To be considered for this role you will have experience in grant-making, including knowledge of using Grantmaking management systems (they currently use Blackbaud). In partnership with 150 primary schools, we support families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. Families are motivated to sustain and enjoy frequent and positive interactions together.

Our parental engagement journey with schools starts by focussing on reading. Our digital reading log is an inclusive way for schools and families to record reading, replacing physical reading records.

Our full Maths and English programme builds on the positive habits fostered by our reading log. It replaces traditional Maths and English homework with fun activities which have parent-child interaction at their heart. Through behavioural insight research, innovative technology and teacher training we ensure that as many families as possible are supported effectively. 

We are working to improve parental engagement across the sector, by producing evidence of parents’ impact and generating insights into how schools can best support them. Learnings are disseminated through the Parental Engagement Forum and amplified through the Fair Education Alliance.

About the Role

There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to grow our Fundraising team to the next level.

The Fundraising and Communications Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team to deliver Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. Their primary focus will be strengthening our existing funding pipeline through prospects research and managing the donor database. They will also be responsible for drafting compelling applications and reports for new and existing donors. They will develop and adapt our fundraising resources and provide wider support to the team. 

The Fundraising and Communications Officer will also be responsible for managing Learning with Parents external communications, including creating and posting engaging blogs and social media posts, drafting the Annual Impact Report and managing the organisation’s brand guidelines.

Lastly, the Fundraising and Communications Officer will provide logistical support for the Parental Engagement Forum. 

Core Areas of Responsibility:

Fundraising support

• Research prospects who are a good fit for our work including corporate funders, trusts and foundations, High Net Worth Individuals and Sector Awards

• Working with our Fundraising Manager, build our funder pipeline in order to support accurate forecasting for the organisation

• Working with our Fundraising Manager, craft well-written project proposals and briefings to inspire and engage funders including corporate funders, individuals and Trusts and Foundations

• Cultivate and steward existing and new donors, helping to secure ongoing support and identify potential uplifts

• Build relationships across the Learning with Parents team to source and manage information about our work, keeping up to date with progress and impact

• Manage Learning with Parents’ reporting schedule, feeding into our draft reports as required 

• Draft and spend out engaging and impactful quarterly funder newsletters

• General support across different areas of fundraising, including but not limited to: working with the wider team to draft cases for support for new projects; keeping existing fundraising resources up to date and developing new ones as required; keeping our databases up to date; and supporting with event planning.

External communications

• Manage the charity’s social media accounts, working across the Learning with Parents teams to ensure regular and engaging content

• Make updates to the charity WordPress site 

• Write regular blogs on a range of topics connected to our work

• Format and publish the blogs on the WordPress site

• Manage our annual impact report including planning the content, coordinating with other members of the team and liaising with the graphic designer

• Manage brand guidelines, keeping them up to date with any changes to our sales & marketing strategy

• Ad hoc support creating sales & marketing materials. 

Coordinate the Parental Engagement Form

• Send out meeting updates, reminders and follow ups

• Set up the quarterly meetings and assist the chair and speakers with logistics

• Support speakers with slide templates and any other information required

• Manage the participant list, adding and removing members as required and ensuring the links are shared at each meeting.

About you

Job purpose

The Safe Haven Deputy Manager’s role is to be part of the Safe Haven management team and jointly ensure effective delivery of high-quality service for adults experiencing mental health crisis in Oxfordshire. The postholder will be required to independently lead a safe and effective shift and offer crisis mental health support for people presenting in mental health crisis including assessing risks, facilitating re-focusing activities, and conducting one-to-one support sessions on the phone and face to face focusing on person-centred listening, grounding, safety planning and exploring coping strategies. The Deputy Manager will lead on shift handovers and provide support to staff on day-to-day activities as well as provide one-to-one supervision for their direct reports.

The team takes part in handovers, one to one supervision and complex case discussions to aid their ability to reflect, learn and support Safe Haven service users within the remit of the service.

Key Responsibilities: 

• You will be managing a caseload of up to 200 active volunteer activities across the Wishgranting process at any one time, ensuring Wishgranting volunteers have resources they need to conduct their role.

• You will be supporting the wish journey process by Wishgranting managing volunteers to ensure they are reaching agreed KPIs. 

• You will be responsible for accurate data entry using our CRM systems, ensuring a high level of attention to detail and following data privacy and safeguarding guidelines.

• You will assist in the development of tools and resources, including ensuring training is up to date and relevant in-line with any changes within the wish journey.

• You will be responsible for enganging our Wishgranting volunteers, through following a clear engagement plan to reduce the attrition of Wishgranting volunteers.

• Communication is a key part of the role and you will be engaging frequently with Wishgranting volunteers, ensuring a high-quality experience.

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

• Experience managing and supporting a network of volunteers, ensuring agreed targets are met.

• Experience with accurately collating and processing data using CRM systems.

• To confidently follow data privacy and safeguarding guidelines.

• As each wish is unique, yaccurate record keeping, data privacy and safeguarding are essential. 

• You will need to have experience in communicating with various stakeholders and be able to organise and prioritise your workload.

• You will need to be able to confidently share ideas to ensure a high-quality experience and to work on your own initiative without supervision.

Maternity Action’s vision is a society which fully respects the rights of all pregnant women
and new parents to employment, social security and health care.
To achieve this vision, we undertake thoughtful research and policy analysis which is
grounded in the lived experiences of pregnant women and new parents, and which draws on
the expert knowledge of our legal team and evidence from our advice services. Our work
influences law and policy with the aim of reducing poverty, improving health and advancing
equality and human rights for all pregnant women and new parents.
We prioritise issues affecting low income and marginalised women and have an active
programme of research, policy and campaigning work on employment, social security and
healthcare.

Key areas of campaigning on employment rights include ending pregnancy and maternity
discrimination in the workplace and promoting a more equitable framework for maternity and
parental leave. Our work on the cost-of-living crisis is highlighting the underinvestment in
maternity pay and maternity benefits, the limited support available for migrant mothers and
calling for improved financial support. We have an on-going campaign and programme of
work around NHS charging for maternity care, which affects some of the most socially and economically vulnerable women in the UK.

Our policy and campaigns work has a strong focus on partnership working with voluntary
organisations, health professionals and unions to support women to exercise their rights. We
convene the Alliance for Maternity Rights and the Maternity Entitlement Group to promote collaborative campaigning on employment rights and on charging for NHS maternity care.
We work closely with a range of voluntary organisations in our policy and campaign work,
including smaller frontline organisations working with marginalised women.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Senior Employment and Social Security Policy Officer to
undertake policy analysis, campaigning and research on employment rights affecting
pregnant women and new parents, including maternity discrimination, precarious work,
health and safety, maternity and parental leave and flexible working.

You will be able to form relationships with Government, Trade Unions, business groups, Equality and Human Rights
Commission and voluntary sector organisations. Working with staff across the organisation
you will be able to communicate about employment policy effectively to a wide range of
audiences.

You will have an understanding of the social security system as it relates to pregnant women
and new parents, and an ability to analyse policy developments relating to the Department
for Work and Pensions.

About the role
As the Mental Health Hub Service Lead, you will collaborate with the Director of Children and Young People Services and Clinical Leads to drive the strategic growth and development of the organisation's services. We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us in our Collaborative Design team as our Project Engagement Coordinator. You will have an opportunity to deliver a portfolio of projects which exemplify best practice in engagement and design.

As the Project Engagement Coordinator, you will be the project lead on engagement elements, conducting research to identify areas of development and sourcing opportunities to partner with local organisations.

You will be engaging with communities, stakeholder groups and the local authority to inform project development and the delivery of a range of activities, through the collaborative design process by ensuring all voices are heard, and communities feel part of the process.

You will be incorporating a behaviour change plan for each project and participating in case studies and project summaries which demonstrates their impact.
