This is a fundamental role within our North regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer. The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 23 historic churches across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, W. Yorkshire, N. Yorkshire (part), ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

You will work closely with the Lead Local Community Officer (North), regional and national colleagues, volunteers, community groups and other local stakeholders.

We are recruiting for a part-time Finance Officer to carry out a range of duties to ensure the smooth reporting and processing of the financial procedures of the Institute.

The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) is the leading professional institute representing archaeologists in the UK and overseas. We are looking for a focussed and self-motivated individual, who has experience in financial support and undertaking financial tasks including payroll. You will good communication skills and be able to effectively prioritise your workload and to work under your own initiative. You will be familiar with a range of IT and finance systems.

 We are looking to recruit a Collections Care and Conservation Manager to join our team based at our Stafford site. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £38,000-£40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Purpose of the Collections Care and Conservation Manager role:

We are looking for an experienced Collections Care and Conservation Manager to join the Museum team at an exciting time as we prepare for a major store move and develop vibrant and engaging new exhibitions.

You will manage the development and delivery of collections care and conservation projects and facilities across the three Museum sites as well as a range of activities to ensure the preservation of collections while promoting wider public access to the RAF story and volunteer engagement.

Key responsibilities of our Collections Care and Conservation Manager include:

• Lead the collections care and conservation team, integrating staff and volunteers to condition assess, document, clean and conserve objects ranging from aircraft and uniforms to personal papers and art works so they can be shared with audiences on site, offsite and online.
• Plan, manage and monitor the delivery of programmes for the conservation of and access to the Museum’s collections, planning activities, managing risk, time and resources in accordance with professional standards, policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Ensure the safe, secure, effective and efficient management of the conservation team, volunteers, contractors, conservation materials, equipment and facilities. 
• Ensure an effective balance is made between long-term preservation, restoration and the Museum’s access and interpretation objectives.
• Manage the Collections Disaster Response and Salvage Plan, acting as lead contact in emergencies relating to collections, liaising with the Visitor Experience Supervisors to ensure effective incident management, damage reporting and to support wider emergency planning through the Museum’s Incident Management Plan.
• Support and facilitate the Museum’s commercial activities

What we are looking for in our Collections Care and Conservation Manager:

• Relevant experience in managing, maintaining and conserving museum collections, notably in relation to stored collections, collection moves and exhibition projects.
• Demonstrable experience of implemented collections care in line with professional standards and best practice.
• Communicates in a straightforward manner, demonstrating respect and acting with integrity and impartiality.
• Recognises scope of own authority for decision making and empowers team members to make appropriate decisions.
• Relevant conservation or collections management qualification.
• Experience of COSHH and health and safety regulations and legislation, including radiation protection and asbestos.
• Full, clean driving licence

The Estate Officer will ensure the delivery of the regional maintenance programme, comprising routine, periodic, planned and urgent works, and the delivery of time limited maintenance consultancy and estate management projects. Working alongside the Conservation Projects Manager, the post holder will ensure regional estate compliance with CCT policies.

The post holder will be the main contact for all maintenance related matters and will maintain the property management records for the estate, develop volunteer projects and training on maintenance reporting and conservation cleaning and will assist with fundraising.

About You

We are looking for a strategic, hands-on leader who can balance big-picture financial planning with the operational needs of a growing international charity. You should have excellent financial acumen, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage finances in a complex, multi-currency, multi-entity environment.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Proven finance leadership experience in a complex international organisation, ideally in the INGO sector.
• Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency financial operations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including UK Charity SORP FRS 102.
• Experience with donor reporting, grant management, and compliance.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing dispersed international finance teams.
• Experience with financial systems implementation and process improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

Desirable:

• Experience working in one of the organisation’s key regions (Afghanistan, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, the Levant).
• Experience leading finance teams remotely.
