Summary

• Support the SIAM in the planning and delivery of the NCIs' annual risk-based IA Plan, including assisting with the Annual Audit Needs Analysis and producing the Audit Universe.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of all individual IA assignments, from the initial planning stage through to the completion of the final report. Ensure all findings are effectively communicated with management as part of the IA delivery process.

• The post-holder will be expected to come into the primary office location in Church House, Westminster, one day per week.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.

The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.

This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. The Head of Fundraising will lead The Girls' Network income generation strategy to ensure they can continue empowering young women from the least advantaged backgrounds. Responsibilities of our Lead Developer:

- Assist in the development of new systems including designing, implementing, maintaining and updating systems

- Drive the full life cycle of software development in an Agile fashion within the scrum process

- Create low-level design specifications and implement these

- Amending and refactoring of moderately complex programs / scripts

- Undertake hands-on coding and carry out regular code reviews and provide feedback

- Ensure all assigned development work, upgrades and support requests are dealt with

- Assess new technologies as they become available and determine where they might support the work of the organisation

About the Solution Delivery team:

- The Solution Delivery team sit within the IT Department as the group responsible for new software development, configuration and deployment, including 3rd line support.

- Formed of 9 individuals with a variety of backgrounds and skills in the Microsoft stack, the team tackle challenges from small new websites to multi-year projects to replace software systems

What we’re looking for in our Lead Developer:

- Achieved proficiency in programming/software development or gained experience in another development skill involving system implementation and comprehensive training in programming

- Extensive .Net development experience, preferably using agile methodology

- Ability to understand complex problems and break them down into a set of user requirements

- A good understanding of information systems concepts and practice and the software development life cycle

- Experience of designing systems and communicating that design, providing direction to others to implement the design, and monitoring/following up progress against targets

- A customer-focused individual who can communicate at both the technical and non-technical level

- A self-starter with evidence of analytical ability and attention to detail

- Someone who is confident to work with a remote development team across the UK

- Someone who is confident to work with developers and other skilled professionals from outside the organisation

- Experience in managing projects from start to finish, ideally on a broad spectrum of projects

We secure high-profile coverage in national, regional, consumer and trade press that talks frankly about the diabetes crisis and the seriousness of diabetes. You'll need a creative, compelling writing style, and be capable of translating complex information into accessible language for diverse audiences. We're looking for a great comms all-rounder who can manage content across multiple platforms, from social media to press releases, so you can ensure a consistent and powerful brand voice.  This role is also a great opportunity to use and develop your skills around strategic communication.

To succeed in this role, you’ll also need proactive project management skills, combined with strong judgement, essential for coordinating complex communications campaigns, managing timelines, and ensuring seamless execution and alignment with message framing and project goals. You'll be confident in prioritising effectively, and knowing when to flag and escalate issues, ensuring smooth campaign delivery. This 28-hour a week remote role within the UK offers the chance to make a real difference, helping to campaign for Disabled people and their rights.

About the campaign

Our Campaign for Disability Justice, launched in September last year, is a vital initiative to tackle the systemic issues trapping over two million Disabled people in deep poverty. We address the root causes: inefficient social security regardless of employment status, barriers to employment for those capable of work, and a negative public discourse perpetuated by Government. The Campaign calls on Government to collaborate with Disabled People's Organisations to achieve these crucial changes.

Considering current Green Paper proposals and further benefit cuts announced in last month’s budget, our Campaign is has never been more needed.  Join us to help prevent further impoverishment of Disabled people, as we work to oppose these cuts.
