About the role
We’re looking for an experienced social worker to join our Central Support & Social Care Team in the role of Senior Practitioner.
The Central Support & Social Care Team is a home-based team providing phone and digital support to children and young people with cancer across the UK. The team works alongside our social work teams in hospitals to deliver tailored support.
This role will manage the strand of the team's work that delivers support to those assessed to have lower-level needs. This is carried out through regular phone-based contact, and provision of an inbound service providing advice and support to young people with cancer, their families and those in their networks.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we look to grow and maximise the potential of volunteers within the team.
This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.
What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy.
The role involves:
- Practice management of our care navigators (unqualified workers) and volunteers who deliver services in line with the organisation's service specifications
- Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the strand of our service for those assessed to have lower-level needs. This includes scheduling planned outbound calls ensuring they meet the contact needs and preferences of young people and families, and accepting new referrals from our social care teams across the UK
- Oversight of incoming enquiries, through webchat, phone and email
- Providing reflective practice and development opportunities to our care navigators
- Fostering and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation, and professionals & medical staff across the UK
- Working with our volunteer lead to grow and maximise the potential of volunteers in the team
What do I need?
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A recognised professional social work qualification
- A minimum 3 years experience of working with children and young people in a social work setting, including assessment and care planning
- Experience of managing safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults - legislation, procedures and best practice
- Experience of supervising staff, students or volunteers in a social care setting
- Ability to work virtually using video conferencing to build effective relationships with stakeholders
- Understanding of oppression and the barriers that marginalised people face, and strong commitment to deliver anti-oppressive practice

As Trust and Corporate Fundraising Manager, you will:
- Support the development and delivery of the fundraising plan, proactively researching and pursuing new income opportunities, with targets for fundraising applications to trusts & foundations and corporate foundations. (Account Management 60%, New Business 40%)
- Develop strategic and collaborative relationships with funders to maximise income and ensure excellent supporter care with a team target of £770k
- Write and submit compelling, evidence-based funding applications, targeted to the priorities and criteria of the funder
- Provide excellent stewardship of all funders, building on the existing stewardship framework

THET and CPA work in partnership with 24 Health Partnerships (HPs) across 8 countries to deliver a comprehensive 4.5-million-pound programme to address global antimicrobial resistance. The programme leverages international cooperation between health organisations working across hospital systems to improve the use of and thus conserve the efficacy of the antimicrobials, and strengthen systems of infection prevention and control (IPC), to reduce the frequency that these drugs are used.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
The aim is for the Evaluation to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, impact, sustainability, and relevance of the CwPAMS2(Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship Programm) programme's activities and outcomes.
The purpose of this consultancy is to conduct an independent external evaluation of the CwPAMS2
programme to:
- Assess the broader impact of the programme across the 8 countries of implementation and the UK.
- Assess the extent to which the programme objectives and expected outcomes in the logframe have been achieved.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the programme’s design and implementation, including grant management.
- Collect case studies for each country
- Identify lessons learned, best practices, and areas for improvement.
- Provide actionable recommendations to enhance future programme design and implementation.
- The evaluator(s) will work closely with the THET and CPA teams to navigate existing data and interpret results. The evaluator(s) may want to conduct interviews with THET and CPA and In-Country Consultants to bolster learning gleaned from existing data.

What you will need to be successful:
· Demonstrable previous experience of successfully leading teams and delivering similar services to groups of customers in either a supported housing, support, care or other relevant environment.
· Experience of contract negotiation and tendering for new contracts for the provision of services.
·Strong knowledge of issues relating to homelessness including current legislation, government policy, the benefits framework and any relevant client support pathways
·Experience of successfully managing a number of complex projects and business as usual tasks at the same time.

The Head of Communications and Marketing is a strategically important post in the organisation with lead responsibility for overseeing communications, marketing and PR for the UK’s only national cleft lip and palate support charity. The role involves managing all aspects of internal and external communications including media relations, digital content and brand strategy.
The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team and works closely with the CLAPA Board of Trustees to ensure that we maximise all opportunities to promote the work of the charity. The post holder also has responsibility for the direct line management of the Communications and Marketing team.
