Responsibilities:

• Develop organisation’s operations systems, ensuring that policies and compliance on finance, HR processes, safeguarding and organisation administration are based on our values and ethics 

• Create budgets and financial reporting

• Enable a robust working practice that is empowering, safe and supportive for staff, trustees, volunteers and partners

• Lead a collaborative system of work planning, monitoring, reporting on the projects’ achievements and management of the organisation’s budget 

• Facilitate excellent communication and coordination across the charity’s projects and partners. 

• Ensure work and services are delivered according to our aims and objectives and can contribute towards systemic change on issues we are addressing. 

• Enable the collective development of caring and people oriented policies and procedures 

• Develop a collective approach on fundraising strategy together with the Fundraising and Income Generation Manager, other staff members, trustees and volunteers.

Experience: 

• Excellent understanding of rights based campaigning on migrants and human rights issues through a woman’s lens 

• Excellent knowledge of women’s issues and violence and oppression that impact on migrant women. 

• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work both as part of a team and independently

• At least 3 years experience in a systems change approach in developing the work of an organisation and  supporting/supervising staff and projects management 

• Proficient in developing fundraising strategy and applications 

• Good knowledge of how migrant community groups organise and work together

•  Experience in building networks and alliances and in collaborative work 

• Good level of knowledge of employment, immigration and welfare policies and procedures 

• At least 2 years experience on developing operational systems and compliance within a charity setting 

• Understand and commits to the aims and values of the organisation in promoting and protecting the rights of migrant workers, specially those women who were trafficked and experienced all forms of gender violence

Main responsibilities:

• Create a successful income generation strategy across different sources including corporate, grant makers, trust and foundation, social media fundraisers, legacy and new streams of funding.

• Build solid relationships with corporate sponsors, funders and grant makers to enable us to identify the best income generation streams  for our organisational requirements

• Help report to funders on the benefits of their funded projects.

• Employ and train staff/ volunteers with funding applications and other aspects of funding, eg social media requests

• Share management and supervision work of staff for the different projects in the organisation.

• Participate in the organisation wide collective and collaborative approach to move the direction of the charity forward across different work of the organisation. 

Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent grant writing and communication skills

• Proven track record of at least 5 years in successful funding applications

• Successful track record in fundraising from corporate sectors

• Good understanding and experience of rights based campaigning on migrants and human rights issues through a woman’s lens

• Good knowledge of women’s issues including violence and oppression.

Background

The Independent Schools Council (ISC) is a trade body which represents the independent schools’ sector in the UK. It comprises seven stakeholder associations who represent over 1,400 independent schools, educating more than half a million children. ISC schools are diverse, spanning day and boarding, single sex, SEND and faith provision. The great majority of children in UK independent schools are in ISC schools. ISC is strictly independent of all political parties and acts to support member schools in the interests of all children. 

Debates over the taxation of independent schools has meant the sector having a high political profile. With a new government, it is important the sector continues to build relationships with Ministers, civil servants and politicians of all parties to highlight the positive work of our schools in supporting pupils across the independent and state sectors and addressing the challenges facing education.

The role will be a permanent, full-time contract operating out of our London offices near St James’s Park underground station. Staff are able to work from home for part of the week.

Main purpose of job

Reporting to the Head of Policy, the successful candidate will deliver our public affairs workplan and support the development of policy positions. In particular, they will be responsible for building political relationships at national level while supporting schools to build local relationships with their MPs.

Person specification

· At least three years relevant political or public affairs experience.

· Ability to deliver public affairs work independently, working under the strategic supervision of the Head of Policy.

Specific responsibilities

To deliver ISC’s public affairs and policy activity including, but not restricted to, the tasks below:

· A priority is to develop good working relationships and links with association staff in the interests of maximising impact by working together.

· Develop and implement the public affairs and Parliamentary strategy for ISC.

· Implement political contact programme with Parliamentarians and external stakeholders; including attendance at party conferences.

· Advise and support school heads when engaging with local MPs and councillors; produce engagement toolkits.

· Advise the Chief Executive, senior staff and member associations and schools on effective public affairs approaches.

· Become a trusted source of political advice to member associations and schools, present at member meetings and conferences.

· Monitor Parliamentary activity – identifying issues, people to contact and writing weekly political update.

· Write briefings ahead of Parliamentary debates and engage with those taking part.

· Draft submissions to government consultations and select committee inquiries, working with members associations and schools to develop relevant policy positions.

· Work with the ISC media and communications team to ensure messaging is aligned, supporting the public affairs strategy and campaigns.

Prospectus is pleased to be partnering an outstanding homelessness charity based in Canning Town, whose mission is to provide support to people who find themselves sleeping rough in East London. They do this by providing a safe and welcoming place to stay, and offering support through the provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities. They are now a support worker, to join their Intensive Support Service. 

As a Support Worker, you will work in the ISS, providing high-quality, person-centred support to residents with a background of rough sleeping and a range of medium to high needs. These will include entrenched drug and/or alcohol issues, mental health diagnosis and a range of offending backgrounds. You will be the principal provider of support for these residents in the ISS and will also work alongside other Support Workers. You will be responsible for promoting resident engagement and empowerment through the development of positive relationships with residents, enabling them to take control of their lives and make positive changes. Additionally, you will work closely with residents to create tailored support plans that meet their specific needs and enable them.

Due to the nature of the role, you will have experience in building relationships and supporting vulnerable, disadvantaged, or excluded client groups, as well as dealing with challenging behaviours within a similar setting to the homelessness sector. You will also be able to demonstrate a level of experience and understand the range of approaches appropriate to working with challenging behaviour including current drug /or alcohol use, antisocial behaviour, offending, substance misuse and complex needs, as well as experience of working with clients through a trauma-informed approach and understand statutory compliances and standards such health and safety, equal opportunities and data protection. Partnership is fundamental to our way of working. We are second-tier organisation focusing on the continuous improvement of service models, sharing best practice and supporting specialist service providers to deliver. 

 We have three core strands of work: 

The Drive Project is our flagship intervention working with high-harm, high-risk and serial perpetrators of domestic abuse to prevent their abusive behaviour and protect victims. The Drive Project challenges perpetrators to change and works with partner agencies – like the police and social services – to disrupt abuse. It is currently being delivered in 9 police force areas. 

Restart is an innovative pilot project providing earlier intervention for families experiencing domestic abuse. It brings together domestic abuse services, children’s social care and housing teams to identify and respond to patterns of domestic abuse at an earlier stage. Restart is currently being delivered in five London Boroughs.  

The Drive National Systems Change programme works across the domestic abuse specialist sector, public sector partners and beyond to develop sustainable, national systems that respond to all perpetrators of domestic abuse.  We identify systemic gaps and build solutions that keep survivors safer by addressing those causing harm.

Background for the role

In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent. The Act introduces a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Notice (DAPN) to provide immediate protection following a domestic abuse incident, and a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) to provide flexible, longer-term protection for victims. DAPOs can impose both prohibitions and positive requirements on perpetrators. Positive requirements can be in the form of interventions aimed at reducing and managing risk, meeting the needs of an individual (for the factors that are not the causation of abuse but impact on risk e.g. mental ill health, substance misuse) and behaviour change interventions.

We were commissioned by the Home Office to design a triage model that will assess individuals for the suitability of these interventions, this triage model launched in November 2024 and will be tested and evaluated in order to prepare for national roll out in 2026.

 Purpose:   

The DAPO Service Manager will manage the operational, and strategic delivery of the DAPO team pilot working closely with the Practice and Development Lead and Programme Manager.

The postholder will have responsibility for managing all DAPO triage teams who are working locally and remotely in the DAPO pilot sites.

This role will require 

a) the effective line management of Triage Team Leaders (who in turn manage triage workers and IDVAs), in providing a high-quality frontline service triaging DAPO referrals for positive requirements

b) the development and maintenance of a multi-agency infra structure that actively engages with the triage team and the triage process 

c) working with the Practice and Development Lead and Programme Manager to ensure safe and effective delivery of the DAPO pilot triage process. 

d) support the development of the DAPO triage model through learning and analysis of the pilot delivery e.g. to initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols, and to keep safety central to all services for perpetrators and victims of domestic abuse.

Where feasible, we aim to establish partnerships with local survivor domestic abuse service to deliver parallel support for survivors (referred to as Integrated Support Service) as part the expert support strand.

Purpose of the role: 

The Senior Communications and Policy Officer will work with the Make a Change team at Respect to advance the development of communication and policy activities for the Make a Change model in project sites and nationally to encourage uptake in new areas. They will also work with Respect’s Communications and Influence leads to ensure alignment with the organisation's broader messaging and advocacy efforts, maximising the impact of Make a Change initiatives. Reporting to the Deputy Financial Controller, you will help to support the organisation's year-end and audit process by preparing and providing information for the external audit as required.
Duties include assisting the finance team by consolidating financial information for both the UK and overseas divisions; reviewing various balances; supporting the production of financial statements and liaising with auditors. The anticipated duration is 6 months+.

Hybrid working: 2 days per month in the office.

Job title: Philanthropy Manager

We are seeking our first Philanthropy Manager to cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of donors and prospective donors (including alumni and other individuals, companies and charities) to generate major gifts £10,000 - £1 million+ for the Trust.

The successful candidate will join a small Executive Team of two (Director and Stewardship Officer) and work closely with our newly appointed Chair (from 6 July 2025), the Board of Trustees, and members of its sub-committee for Alumni Relations, Fundraising and Communications.

The first Kennedy Scholars departed for Harvard and MIT in 1966. In 2026 we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of this significant milestone in our history. The impact of this life-changing opportunity over the past 60 years will feature strongly in our new fundraising campaign.

Reporting to: Director of the Kennedy Memorial Trust (KMT)

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week. We understand that full-time hours may not suit all candidates, so there is some flexibility in the hours and work schedule.

Contract: Permanent

Compensation: Salary £45,000 FTE, 30 days holiday plus bank hols (FTE) and 8% employer pension contribution after 3 months’ service

Location: Home-based but within easy access to London. The post holder can work on a hybrid basis, combining predominately home-working with regular in-person meetings in London. Travel from home to London for work and meetings will be paid in accordance with any expenses policies in force at the time.

The role involves some travel, in addition to the London working requirement, for meetings/events with donors, scholars, trustees and other stakeholders – ie monthly within the UK and twice a year to the US. There will also be occasional evening and weekend commitments.

About the Kennedy Memorial Trust

The Kennedy Memorial Trust funds exceptional UK students to pursue graduate studies at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Established as a ‘living memorial’ to President Kennedy following his assassination, the Trust has supported around 600 Kennedy Scholars since the first cohort in 1966. In addition to the scholarships, the Trust manages and maintains a memorial at Runnymede in Surrey.

The Trust prides itself on the talent and service of the candidates it selects. Following their time at Harvard or MIT, scholars have gone on to play leading roles in the UK and across the world, in public service, the law, science/technology, health, education, business, charities, the arts and media. Alumni of the programme include Lady Mary Arden (Supreme Court Justice from 2018 to 2022), Lord Mervyn King (Bank of England Governor from 2003 to 2013). The Trust is a registered charity (number 234715) and is responsible for the Kennedy Memorial Fund. In accordance with the Deed, Trustees are appointed by the UK Prime Minister, the Presidents of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or by the President of the United States. Originally funded by public donation, the Trust has developed a medium-scale fundraising programme over the last decade and is now planning a more ambitious campaign as the foundation for its future development.

The role

1. Fundraising activity

Contribute to the development of the new fundraising strategy.

Research, identify and pursue fundraising opportunities that meet the Trust’s strategic objectives.

Lead one-on-one and small group meetings with Trustees and key supporters to identify, develop and deliver fundraising objectives.

Assist Trustees in developing and maintaining their portfolios of prospects and donors.

Write compelling fundraising proposals and applications for funding, including bespoke proposals tailored to specific individuals.

Initiate and nurture relationships with potential high-level donors aiming to establish a strong and long-term philanthropic relationship

Lead one-on-one and small group meetings with high-level donors and potential donors and ask them for significant financial contributions.

Maintain and develop professional, trusted and productive relationships with current and past donors, and with a range of priority stakeholders.

Use appropriate and effective negotiation skills to motivate and guide donors to make gifts at a high level.

2. Processes and Procedures

Ensure the Trust is compliant with all relevant aspects of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and the Charity Commission.

Maintain a professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information, complying with privacy and data protection legislation.

Maintain the Trust’s suite of policies and procedures related to fundraising and donor engagement.

Actively engage in external networks to identify new prospective donors.

Contribute to monthly and quarterly fundraising performance reports and present progress to the trustee board and its committe

Accurately record donor interactions in the CRM database and contribute to improving data management and analysis processes.

Regularly update the Executive team on fundraising activities and seek their input and support as needed.

Work closely with the Stewardship Officer to develop and implement solicitation and stewardship plans for donors and prospects.

Participate in team decision-making by suggesting creative solutions and engaging in strategic planning discussions.

Any other duties which may be required by the Director.

As a small organisation we ask staff to remain flexible in their role responsibilities and so the JD will vary from time to time.

Experience and education required:

Experience of professional fundraising, with a track record of successfully securing major (£10k+) gifts from individuals, Foundations and businesses.

Educated to degree level

Experience of delivering a fundraising programme and pipeline to meet financial targets.

Experience identifying, negotiating and managing resource requirements in support of fundraising activity

Experience of having worked with high-level donors

Demonstrable understanding of higher education in UK and US

Demonstrable understanding of data protection/ Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and the Charity Commission.

High computer literacy in standard office packages and experience in using databases.

We are seeking a motivated MAP Programme Coordinator to lead the Migrants’ Aspiration Programme (MAP) to guide and support emerging migrant leaders from across London. 

The successful candidate will have responsibility to manage the delivery of this programme, including facilitating or co-facilitating all live workshops,supporting those participating on the programme, building partnerships, and working closely with the MRN team to make this a programme success.

This role will suit a candidate that has strong experience in working with migrant communities, supporting and managing volunteers, and with excellent project management skills.
