Want to work with multiple award-winning charity, FoodCycle? As Regional Manager you will represent, manage and co-ordinate your allocated regional Projects. Our Projects are spaces where volunteers are empowered to run community meals using surplus food.​

You will manage local relationships with venues, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable this to happen. As an excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each Project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy, ensuring that volunteers are confident enough to self-organise and make a success of their Projects.​

You will have experience of programme planning, delivery and development including community led/owned programmes. You will have experience of building relationships with a range of stakeholders and be passionate about food and cooking.​

There will be frequent travel to our projects in Yorkshire and The Humber, with some evening and weekend work needed to cover our projects. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this rewarding role.​

Barnardo's Adoption Midlands and South West

2 Social Worker vacancies (could consider full time or part time working) to cover work across our region which includes East & West Midlands, South West and Thames Valley.  Work is allocated near to workers home address where possible but willingness to travel is a key feature of this position. These will be hybrid posts and the postholders will be required to travel regularly to an office locations either in Tickenham (near Clevedon) or Halesowen.  

Development of Service
This is a service that currently works in adoption and adoption support and covers the Midlands region (West and East Midlands) and the South West region (including the Thames Valley area).  

Objectives of Service - Adoption
The primary aim of the Service is to provide the highest quality of adoption placement and adoption support services.

Our objectives include:-

To recruit, assess and approve a diverse range of adoptive families to meet the needs of waiting children.

To carefully match the needs of waiting children with the skills of the prospective adopters.

To ensure all Barnardo's adopters have access to training, guidance and support when they require it.

To work directly with adoptive families in need of therapeutic support and with the Services Therapeutic Team to help build and maintain family relationships.

A commitment to listen to our children, young people, adopters and stakeholders to enable us to progress on our journey of continuous learning and improvement.

Initial Specific Responsibilities 

As a Social Worker in the team you will be involved in all aspects of the adoption process. You will work as part of a committed Team with a mixture of face to face and virtual work.

You will receive regular supervision by a manager in the Service and you will work closely with the other Social Workers, support workers, therapists, and administrators.

Social Workers are involved in the recruitment and taking initial enquiries on a duty system. Then undertaking Initial visits and AAR assessments, these comprehensive reports are then presented to Panel.

The Social Worker will work with the support worker in the Team with Family Finding, and liaise regularly with adopters who are looking for a match nationwide. The Social Worker will attend Exchange days, Profiling meeting, Activity Days and DVD meetings nationwide to discuss potential matches with Social Workers from other Regional Adoption Agencies (RAA), and support Barnardo's adopters at these events.

The Social Worker will prepare adopters for visits from RAA's regarding potential matches. If a match is identified the Social Worker will accompany the adopters to the meetings in the child's Local Authority to meet foster carers, medical advisor, schools and nurseries (this can happen anywhere in the country and may be face to face or virtual dependent on circumstances and the Local Authority involved). The Social Worker will prepare paperwork for Matching Panel and attend with adopters.

The Social Worker will support the adopters in introductions, and visit regularly until the Adoption Order is granted and beyond if required. 

The Social Worker will assist in arranging therapeutic input and applications to the Adoption Support Fund.

The Social Worker will liaise with other professionals involved with the family and work closely with the placing RAA.

The Social Worker will be involved in supporting families with post adoption support and liaising with the therapists and arranging packages of support.

The Social Worker will attend support groups for the adopters and be involved with the preparation and ongoing training of adopters. This involves some weekend working.

Supplementary Information 

This post requires a professional Social Work Qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or CSS) and Registration with Social Work England or the ability to register (or proof that they are about to gain registration).

The post holder will need to be able to work flexible hours (occasionally weekends and often evenings) and be prepared to travel when required and on occasion stay away overnight on a planned basis. There is an opportunity to take Time Offered in Lieu.

The Social Worker will need to be able to travel to meet the requirements of the post and have access to a suitable vehicle for use in work.

Social Workers will also need to participate in the “Helpline” rota Out of Hours. There is additional remuneration for providing this service.

About the role 

We The Curious is about to enter an exciting new phase in its mission to connect and empower everyone through shared creative science learning experiences. It is nearly a year since we reopened and as we enter our 25th Anniversary Year there is lots to celebrate and talk about with our new multi-year strategy, Plan 2030 which encompasses numerous major projects for which we must develop and cultivate support. 

The Development Team is responsible for fundraising across the whole organisation and the stewardship and development of our donors and supporters. The other members of the team are the Development Manager, the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Account Manager. We are looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager who is collaborative, organised and an excellent communicator to join the team to help us maximise and unlock some very exciting fundraising opportunities. 

As Trusts and Foundations Manager you will use your skills in research and persuasion to identify grants funding opportunities, establish new relationships and write and submit proposals to trusts, foundations, Lottery funders, the local authority, universities and research councils. Working closely with the rest of the team and project managers from other departments you will raise between six and seven figure sums for our programme of creative science learning and inclusion projects.

What will you do in this role? 

Role specific responsibilities 

_Identify new grants funding sources, including trusts and foundations, research councils and statutory/government funders.

_Prepare and submit high quality funding proposals, expressions of interest and budgets in accordance with strict deadlines and application criteria, to a diverse range of funders, for up to seven-figure sums.

_Work closely with internal departmental teams to develop We The Curious projects so that they are ready for fundraising and write detailed and compelling cases for support that include timelines, budgets and evaluation and reporting plans.

_Support the funding applications of other partner organisations by collaboratively drafting budgets, attending project development meetings and writing letters of support.

_Support the Development Account Manager to cultivate potential funders, including attending on-site visits and events, phone calls and delivering presentations to secure support.

_Support the Development Account Manager to manage a portfolio of funders including overseas relationships, fulfilling reporting and public recognition requirements, thank you letters, regular communications and other correspondence.

_Liaise with the finance team to record new income and report on expenditure in accordance with funder deadlines.   

_Support the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Manager in identifying new strategic opportunities and exploring new types of income stream. This may include presenting to the leadership team. Contribute to the delivery of the fundraising strategy, including proposing financial targets for grants, lottery and research income.

_Work closely with the Open City Research (OCR) Manager to identify and pursue new funding opportunities for our ambitious OCR programme and work with the finance team to establish a new funding model for this activity. Support the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Sustainability and Science Director in cultivating high-value stakeholders in STEM and research sectors.

_Assist in the implementation of the Development Team’s migration onto a new CRM database working closely with the Development Account Manager to customise the database for the Development team’s needs. 

_Work with the finance team to understand our financial position and as requested by the Finance Director, contributing to key organisational financial documentation, such as the annual business plan. 

_Manage Fundraising Volunteers supporting the administrative workload of the team and attend Volunteer Key Contacts meetings.

_Attend and occasionally present at We The Curious staff meetings, exhibition launches, project meetings, project development presentations and meetings as required.

General ​responsibilities 

_Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of We The Curious’ planned activities for communities and schools to present our work persuasively to funders and partners.

What we’re looking for from you 

_You’ll have at least three years of fundraising experience, with success at delivering against financial targets and strict deadlines. You’ll have the ability to network, build and manage funding relationships with a wide range of funders and other stakeholders.

_You’ll be confident explaining and pitching ideas to internal and external stakeholders.

_You’ll have experience of working very closely with project delivery teams to develop projects, ensure they know what they need to deliver for funders and monitor their expenditure.

_You’ll have excellent budget management skills, the ability to work independently and effectively and will be confident reporting on six or seven figure budgets.

_You will have good understanding of the financial and regulatory environment charities operate within.

_You’ll have some technical knowledge and experience at using and developing fundraising databases.

_You’ll have experience and confidence in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

_You’ll have the ability to understand We The Curious’ broad-ranging project content and tailor it to appropriate style and content for target funders.

_You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

_You’ll ideally have an understanding or experience of working in education, culture and/or science charities.

We The Curious is about to enter an exciting new phase in its mission to connect and empower everyone through shared creative science learning experiences. It is now a year since we reopened and there is plenty to celebrate in our 25th Anniversary Year. We have exciting projects which range from community and educational outreach through to preparing for some major capital projects for which we must develop and cultivate support. 

The Development Team is responsible for fundraising across the whole organisation and the stewardship and development of our donors and supporters. About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Fundraising Officer to join our team. You will support the wider team by identifying funding prospects, supporting bid-writing, and processing bid applications. You will ensure funder and donor relationships are built and maintained as well as actively researching and building new fundraising prospects. Key Responsibilities: 

Fundraising:

• Conduct research on potential funding opportunities and grant applications 

• Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns 

• Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, providing reports and recommendations 

• Assist with online fundraising campaigns, including online donation platforms 

• Research and implement new ways of building individual giving 

• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and donor information. 

• Assist with the preparation of fundraising materials. 

• Stay up to date with fundraising best practices and trends 

• Any other duties as assigned by the Development Director 

• Support the wider team to build fund-raising skills 

Bid-writing: 

• Keep the team up to date on upcoming funding opportunities 

• Support teams to write bids. Provide management and frameworks to ensure deadlines are met and a high standard of writing is achieved 

• Work with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure bids are budgeted correctly 

• Complete application processes for bids 

• Ensure compliance paperwork is completed and recorded. 

Donor Management:

• Assist with donor communication and stewardship, ensuring timely and personalised acknowledgments and processing 

• Maintain and update donor databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. 

• Assist with research and prospect identification. 

• Respond to donor enquiries in a professional and timely manner. 

About you 

Essential Qualifications and Skills: 

Essential:

• A track-record of successful grant applications. 

• Experience in a fundraising or administrative role within the charity sector. 

• Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices. 

• Ability to quickly assimilate technical information and translate it into plain English 

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills. 

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).  

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

• Confidence managing donation platforms such as JustGiving, Easyfundraising etc. 

• A genuine passion for environmental sustainability 

Desirable:

• Experience with CRM databases. 

• Experience of working remotely

• Experience of working in the health and/or environmental sectors or charities supporting them

Community Relationship Fundraiser

Hours: full-time 36.25 hours worked between the hours of 8am–6pm Mon-Fri (there is flexibility to adapt the working pattern to suit you)

As a small, mission-driven charity, we are seeking a highly organised and reliable Freelance Executive Assistant to support our CEO and Operations Director, enabling them to focus on strategic delivery, fundraising, and programme development.

You will be confident, efficient, and values-driven, able to provide high-level administrative support and coordination. You will play a vital role in keeping our senior leadership organised and on track, ensuring smooth communication to enable the team to collaborate across all the activities and projects.

Key Responsibilites

This vital role will enable the leadership team to focus on strategic goals, fundraising, and programme delivery—by ensuring smooth day-to-day coordination behind the scenes. Working closely with the Operations Director, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

· Provide direct administrative and scheduling support to the CEO and Operations Director.

· Coordinate calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements.

· Draft and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations.

· Manage digital filing systems and ensure documents are well organised.

· Carry out ad hoc tasks and small projects to support the smooth running of the charity.

· Coordinate and support the implementation and monitoring of internal policies.

· Support recruitment and onboarding processes including DBS checks and safeguarding training.

Requirements
