Our changemaking work includes:

• We supported young people to successfully campaign for free bus travel for all 16-18 year olds across Greater Manchester. A policy which now benefits 40,000 young people, making 250,000 free journeys per week and saving them and their families an average of over £500 per young person per year.

• We helped young people highlight and challenge the increasing use of violent and dehumanising language in politics. The campaign gained widespread media coverage and resulted in new commitments from the Speaker, Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition.

• Young people we support were at the forefront of highlighting the impact of COVID19 on working-class communities and demanding better recognition of the essential workers keeping the country going during lockdown.

Role:

We are seeking a well-organised and resourceful Operations Manager to support and develop our infrastructure as we implement our exciting new organisational strategy. Working closely with our CEO and Head of Campaigns, this postholder will oversee the procurement, implementation and smooth running of our internal systems and processes, including HR and Finance. 

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee effective and efficient operations with support from the Leadership team​

• Manage organisational contracts such as phones, office space, internet etc. and ensure best value for money

• Lead on HR processes for staff and associates, which includes recruitment, contracts and inductions, and managing the staff handbook, policies and procedures​

• Oversee resource management and ensure that team members have the information, digital access and equipment they require

• Manage data and online filing systems, ensuring that we are fully compliant with UK data protection and privacy law​s

• Supervise finance function, which includes timely updating of accounts and payments, regular income/expenditure reports, liaising with accountants and Companies House, and supporting the leadership team with financial forecasting

• Organise internal events and meetings (e.g. team days, Board meetings)​

• Line management of our part-time Finance Officer

The Vacancy
We are offering this unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support team and the wider Methodist Church in delivering its strategic plan to make the best use of its buildings for mission in local communities across the country.

Respect is seeking a Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy in-line with Respect’s five-year strategy, Stopping the Harm. This is a new role, which will be positioned within the Influence team, with some administrative support from the Operations team.

We are delighted to have been able to create this post to help Respect to secure the funding it needs to deliver on our strategy. As all fundraisers will be aware, the current landscape for attracting core and unrestricted funding has been challenging.

Respect has been through a period of growth and we have, as part of that process, identified that we need to diversify our funding streams. Alongside traditional trusts and foundations, we want to speak to corporate organisations and others with an interest in ending domestic abuse through addressing its perpetration. You will therefore be playing a critical role, working with the support of the Executive Leadership Team and a wider Practice Development Team that are also working to secure funds to help us to deliver an exciting programme comprising our Centre for Excellence and Influence for Systemic Change, the two pillars of our strategy.

The role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in establishing and developing Global Greengrants Fund UK’s offering to individual donors to be able to make gifts of £100,000 annually, in order to secure significant unrestricted income for the organisation.

GGF UK has a small portfolio of existing high net worth individual (HNWI) supporters but is currently primarily reliant on income from trusts and foundations. The candidate profile

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They will be an experienced, senior-level fundraiser with a track record of securing and developing successful relationships with HNWIs to achieve ambitious income goals. They will have extensive experience in developing pitches, proposals, and fundraising products; and a strong interest in environmental justice, international development or human rights issues. They will have an extensive knowledge of the funding and philanthropy sectors in the UK and Europe; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be confident in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. They should also have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship-building, stewardship, and conceptual skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies and manage complex politics, positioning, and relationships. They also thrive in a virtual environment and are motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions.

The CGD Society 

Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD) is a rare, life-limiting immune disorder, where children and adults get frequent bacterial and fungal infections, which can be serious and life-threatening.

The CGD Society is the primary resource for individuals facing a CGD diagnosis, offering essential information and support to families throughout their CGD journey. Our organisation is led by our dedicated and inspiring Executive Director who works tirelessly alongside our CGD Clinical nurse specialist, who is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital. While headquartered in the UK, we proudly support around 1,500 members across 77 countries, representing this global community with pride.

Key responsibilities

Community Fundraising 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase income through regular giving, donations, campaigns, legacy giving, corporate partnerships, and other fundraising initiatives. 

• Promote participation in major sporting and challenge events. 

• Provide supporters with the necessary materials and motivation to maximize their fundraising efforts for the CGD Society. 

• Send personal thank you letters and certificates to acknowledge donations and fundraising efforts promptly.

Corporate Sponsorship and Partnerships

Digital Marketing

About the role

Travalyst is recruiting its first full-time COO. This is a broad role, supporting Travalyst’s CEO and a growing Executive Leadership team to enable delivery of this first-of-its-kind global initiative. Now in its 5th year, the Travalyst team and organisation is scaling quickly to drive progress and accelerate impact.

About you

You will be able to demonstrate a track record in successful organisational design and implementation, including the development of effective but adaptable systems and processes and their roll-out across a complex organisation with multiple partners and stakeholders. You will manage and lead on finance, governance and risk, ensuring that Travalyst is run according to the highest standards for a UK not-for-profit organisation. 

Proven scale-up operational experience, in a sustainability-focused organisation and/or a UK not-for-profit, is essential. Strong project management skills, enabling effective prioritisation and decision-making and excellence in delivery, would be of huge benefit in the role. 
 

Areas of responsibility: 

Governance, Legal & Risk

· Be accountable for governance structures and processes, including reviewing and revising governance documentation annually

· Ensure compliance with UK statutory and legal obligations 

· Support the Travalyst Board and CEO to ensure effective risk management and mitigation 

· Support CEO with preparation of Board packs and attend Board meetings as an Observer 

· Act as Company Secretary 

· Provide oversight of legal discussions and documentation, working with pro-bono legal team where needed

Financial Management

· Oversight of financial management and administration, including near and longer-term financial planning, modelling, and cash flow management

· Manage outsourced Finance Director, bookkeeper accountants and auditors for budgeting, statutory accounting, audit, payroll, and tax - and evolve the Finance function as the organisation scales

· Support the CEO on funder management, leading on financial and operational aspects of fundraising, including leading grant application processes, budgeting and grant reporting

HR and Organisational Design

· Oversight of HR management and administration, including resource planning and recruitment

· Managed outsourced HR and recruitment consultants on professional development, culture & engagement, employee lifecycle management and recruitment initiatives

· Evolve HR function as the organisation grows

· Oversee workforce planning and recruitment for new hires supported by outsourced HR

· Ensure compliance of all existing legal/ contractual agreements with employees, consultants and suppliers

Operations and Strategy

· Support the CEO on the development of Travalyst’s annual strategic planning and lead on the accompanying operational plan

· Support the CEO in managing Travalyst Coalition Partners, including acting as the relationship lead where required

· Lead on Travalyst’s procurement process and manage key supplier relationships including all contracts, policies, and procedures

· Support the team to evolve Travalyst’s operating model, develop and manage systems and processes to ensure successful delivery of ongoing workstreams and new projects or initiatives

Resourcing & Project Management

· Lead on development and implementation of project management and delivery processes, ensuring excellence in delivery across project teams

· Lead weekly touchpoints to prioritise resources and workload, and track progress against milestones

· Focus and role model excellence in delivery through strong project management skills and ways of working 

IT

· Lead the roll-out of new internal technology to support effective delivery 

· Act as data protection officer (DPO) for the organisation, providing oversight and following best practice and regulation with regards to information, governance, data protection and adherence with UK GDPR

Role Purpose

You will work alongside the Strategic Projects Manager to provide flexible and high-quality project management and administrative support to the Senior Management Team, working across THET’s programmatic, operations, policy, and advocacy work.

THET is experiencing an exciting time of growth, and you, alongside the Strategic Projects Manager, will play a critical role in supporting this growth to be managed well, and in ways that allow colleagues to maintain a focus on existing projects and programmes.

The Strategic Projects unit focuses on new and emerging areas of work which require close collaboration with staff across the organisation, and to use creative thinking, sound project management and administrative skills. Recently completed work ranges from providing interim programme and events management support to THET’s Experts In Our Midst programme, to project management and coordination support to the UK-Africa Health Summit. Main Responsibilities

1. To provide high-quality project management support for new and emerging areas of work, responding flexibility to opportunities and needs as agreed with the Senior Management Team and Strategic Projects Manager.

2. To broker cross-organisational collaboration with the wider staff team to deliver on these projects and manage the effective handover of responsibility to those teams at appropriate moments.

3. To flex across projects and programmes during pinch points to provide extra capacity to team members where necessary.

4. To provide sound administrative support to the Senior Management Team and Strategic Projects Manager, undertaking research, planning and on occasion, logistical support as needed.

5. To liaise with a range of senior external stakeholders in the UK and overseas in the delivery of strategic projects.

6. To provide coordination support to key events in THET’s events cycle, when additional capacity is required.

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from July 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

Remote working with regular travel to the West Midlands and London as required

We’re building our new fundraising team and this temporary role will play an important part in accelerating our ambitious plans to increase annual income during 2024/25.

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

7. Assist in prioritising & managing enquiries about our Community Fundraising Programme via our dedicated inboxes.

8. Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and our Communications and Marketing Team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for UKST’s community fundraising activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Birmingham & Solihull.  We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to join us in delivering a comprehensive Stroke Recovery Service across the region.

Position: S11187 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based Birmingham and Solihull however, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: Circa £22,919 per annum (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the coordinator will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

Role summary

You’ll be raising funds primarily for School Plates, the flagship UK programme, to help school menus to become healthier and more planet-friendly by increasing the quality, quantity, and uptake of plant-based food. 

The programme is growing rapidly. Now working with 70 major school caterers feeding over 1 million children daily, we’ve roughly doubled our reach in each of the last two years. With a new educational programme to teach children about their food choices launching this year, and our School Plates Awards and Global Plant-based School Food Network both expanding considerably, there is a need to significantly grow our income.

The role is primarily a combination of major donor and corporate fundraising to complement our existing trusts and foundations fundraising. You’ll be an experienced relationship builder, a driven and enthusiastic self-starter, and an excellent project manager. Responsibilities

• Lead on UK fundraising, focusing on major donors and corporates.

• Develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy, and draft annual and quarterly objectives.

• Research, identify, and secure new major donors, and develop individual cultivation strategies for prospective donors, moving them along a prospect pipeline.

• Support the stewardship of existing major donor relationships, keeping them informed and involved in our work to secure their continued support.
