This role is pivotal in supporting the charity’s data and systems transformation programme, ensuring the effective management and maintenance.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management including licence management, user permissions, and training

What will you be doing?

We are looking to recruit a committed individual to support the delivery and development of our youth justice practice work, specifically to provide support to police and youth justice services in the delivery of youth diversion. 

Youth diversion schemes are a way of addressing low-level criminal behaviour without putting children through the formal criminal justice processing (either through out of court resolutions (OOCRS) or prosecution) that can result in a criminal conviction and other negative consequences. These schemes operate for under-18s in a variety of different models across the country.

Since 2014, we have provided direct support to over 70 YJSs and their local police forces to develop their diversion schemes, as well as supporting the development of new schemes. In this role, you will help provide this support, which will include: delivering multi-agency workshops, assessing practice against the evidence base, reviewing guidance and protocols and providing recommendations for improvement.

The role will also include:

• Identifying and supporting areas for practice development;

• Working closely with Youth Endowment Fund, Youth Justice Board and the National Police Chiefs’ Council;

• Developing practical tools to support practitioners;

• Presenting at external events;

• Contributing to the design and facilitation of practice sharing events and workshops;

• Engaging with practitioners, stakeholders and service users to shape delivery and represent the Centre;

The Role

The organisation is responsible for delivery of MNVPs for both Birmingham and Solihull ICB. What will you be doing?

We are looking to recruit a committed individual to support the delivery and development of our criminal  justice practice work, with a focus on women’s justice. This is an exciting opportunity where the successful applicant will be actively contributing to the design and delivery of our expanding women in justice area of focus within the Centre.

The role will primarily support our work to expand and enhance community justice for women. This means working in partnership with statutory partners such as police, probation, the judiciary and court staff, as well as 3rd sector organisations including women’s centres to support evidence-led practice.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our women’s problem-solving court network. This will involve (i) identifying and convening practitioners and others who are interested in women’s problem-solving approaches; (ii) facilitating and delivering training and practice sharing workshops; and (iii) developing briefings and toolkits that support the spread of good practice.

Problem-solving courts are specialist courts that focus on addressing the underlying issues and problems that drive offending behaviour. They specialise in a specific set of issues or around a specific target group, such as women with multiple unmet needs. They operate with multi-agency teams to provide tailored interventions and supervision, combining this with judicial monitoring, where individuals regularly appear before the same judge to review their progress.

The Practice Officer will also support us to expand our reach in Out Of Court Resolutions (OOCRs) and pre-court diversion, working directly with police and other agencies to develop or improve their gender-responsive diversion schemes.

The role will also include:

• Supporting the delivery of our practice support in areas such as early intervention and diversion, and specialist problem-solving approaches for women;

The Role

As a Deputy Head of Service for Performance and Quality, you will:

• Proactively analyse data from diverse sources, transforming it into powerful and useful insights for the service

• Produce management information, impact analysis, service modelling and customer-focused performance tools

About You

You will need:

Role Summary

Coram’s Fields is a unique charity in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. In addition to our iconic 7-acre child-friendly park, we run a variety of services and enrichment programmes to support local young people and their families, including a nursery, an after-school and holiday club, a drop-in centre for parents of under-5s, a vibrant youth centre and a sports programme. We proactively host a wide variety of community events and celebrations, and our facilities are available for private hire to generate income for the charity.

The Operations Officer role is an integral part of the central team with responsibility for procedures, systems that support the effective, efficient, and compliant running of our seven-acre site, services, park events and oversight of income streams. It is an exciting and highly collaborative role offering a fantastic opportunity to combine effective communication and organisational skills with a passion for helping young people and a desire to develop commercial and business development experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

General operations, processes and systems 

• You will be responsible for the oversight and continuous improvement of organisational procedures including IT, GDPR, Health and Safety, Fire Evacuation, incident management.
• You will be responsible for briefing staff across the charity in the use of these procedures and working with the Office and HR Manager to arrange training for staff where necessary. 
• You will be responsible for improving existing office systems and identifying opportunities to develop new systems and processes to enable people to work more collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively. 
• You will be responsible for ensuring that organisational procedures are documented and accessible on the internal SharePoint.
• You will be responsible for developing and overseeing a new volunteer infrastructure for the charity, working with teams across the organisation to deliver a consistently high-quality volunteer experience for all with standard recruitment, induction, and on-going oversight procedures.

Events and project management 

• You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing a diverse and inclusive programme of park events, making the park an interesting and vibrant place to visit, encouraging the community to gather and socialise, and generating income to support the work of the charity.
• You will have responsibility for working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure each event is well-planned, managed safely and compliantly with all regulations and laws, and executed successfully within budget. 
• You will work with the CEO, COO and Buildings and Facilities Manager to support capital projects, liaising with external stakeholders, contractors and the Local Authority to ensure the effective operation of the site. Commercial Operations
•  You will operationally oversee our facility-hire income (halls, sports facilities, and grounds) and be responsible for: – ensuring necessary contracts, waivers, and legal/statutory documents are completed – executing effective marketing and promotions, and creating high quality promotional content for our website and social media – regularly reviewing fees in relation to the hire of our facilities and making recommendations for changes to these – understanding and improving the utilisation of facilities – supporting the COO to develop and grow partnerships with local organisations and schools – improving the efficiency of our booking systems/processes and overall user experience 
• You will be responsible for identifying new (temporary and permanent) opportunities and third party partnerships to bring new experiences, enjoyment and enrichment to local young people while also generating income for the charity. 
• You will work closely with our Café Manager to grow the profile and income generated by our cafe through improved park signage and park visitor experience initiatives, and integration of the café into the hall and sports hire customer journeys.

Other 

• You will be expected to undertake personal development and training where required or beneficial for the role, and to attend regular supervision and appraisal sessions.
• To undertake any task that may be request from time to time by the CEO or Board of Trustees, as may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working collaboratively as part of an integral, multi-disciplinary team addressing the physical, emotional and social needs of children and young people who may be neurodivergent, as well as their families using the service
• Maintaining relevant knowledge and understanding of safeguarding standards, ensuring compliance with Norwood’s policies and procedures for promoting the welfare of children and young people as well as vulnerable young adults
• Meeting with children, young people and their families at the centre (or other community settings) or in a remote working environment (adhering to Norwood guidelines) with a view to undertaking comprehensive assessments of individual needs using a strengths-based approach, understanding the impact of neurodiversity, planning appropriate responses in partnership with children and young people and their families
• Working with statutory and other authorities and community organisations to the benefit of the families we work with
• Advising families we work with and support, on relevant legal frameworks, which may affect them
• Monitoring, reviewing and evaluating interventions in collaboration with families and recognising the changing needs/ revising interventions as appropriate
• Enabling those who we are working with and supporting to develop personal skills and strategies to improve outcomes in the identified areas in their life
• Writing reports, maintaining accurate and up to date records on the organisation’s case management system and attending any meetings or case conferences in relation to the children/young people, parents and carers to whom they are providing or have provided a service
• Liaising on behalf of those we are supporting with the Local Authority, the NHS, and other agencies in the public and independent sectors to improve outcomes for the family
• Supporting the child/ young person and their families with financial assistance applications when appropriate

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Social Worker Degree or equivalent
• Registered Social Worker with Social Work England
• Previous experience as a Social Worker either in statutory or voluntary sector Children’s Services
• Understanding of the multitude of needs faced by neurodivergent children and their families
• Sound knowledge of all relevant legislation, statutory guidance and regulations, specifically in relation to safeguarding children/young people and vulnerable adults
