Job description

The Childhood Trust is a dynamic and impactful charity committed to improving the lives of children and young people affected by poverty in our capital city.

Our mission is to alleviate the impact of poverty on children and young people living in the capital, giving them the opportunity to thrive. Children growing up in poverty face multiple and complex challenges which can limit their potential, leading to poor health and reduced life chances in adulthood.

The Trust’s focus is on supporting the 700,000 children living in poverty in London. Since being founded in 2013, we have raised more than £45 million through our matched fundraising campaigns to alleviate the impact of poverty for children living across every borough in London.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Executive to lead us on our next stage of growth, with our new Prepared for Life growth strategy in place and recent investments made to grow our staff team.

The Childhood Trust
Chief Executive Officer
London
Circa £90,000 per annum

The Chief Executive Officer will manage the Trust during an exciting period of development. You will lead the organisation’s team, ensuring an impact-led approach to growth, working closely with the board of trustees, donors, charity delivery partners and other key stakeholders. You will drive forward our mission to deliver good outcomes and positive change for disadvantaged children across London.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring and supportive leader who brings:

  • Experience of providing strategic leadership to staff at all levels, and developing an inclusive organisational culture
  • Success in securing income from corporations, trusts & foundations and other philanthropic sources, including major donors
  • A track record of collaboration and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of driving strong and sustainable impact outcomes

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and have the leadership experience and skills to drive positive change, we encourage you to apply for this role.
