Safeguarding: 

The role-holder will have experience working according to ethical and good practice safeguarding principles. They will be expected to adhere to and promote Amna’s Child and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Policies as they will be involved and responsible for programmes working with children and vulnerable groups in different settings. 

How Will You Make a Difference? 

Amna is seeking a compassionate and experienced Arabic speaking facilitator to join Amna’s team of trainers, with therapeutic/clinical background. As a Trainer & Facilitator your responsibilities will involve delivering training sessions and group facilitation to support and create learning spaces for training participants on themes centred around trauma and identity informed psychosocial healing care with displaced communities. The role holder is expected to work on multiple responses, and will lead Amna’s Gaza and Syria responses, while working closely with Arabic speaking team members.  

Amna’s identity and trauma informed approach is centred around community healing practices with communities that aim to restore participants sense of safety, belonging, agency and joy. Amna services are co-created with the communities being worked with and we prioritise refugee participation and leadership in service design and delivery wherever possible. 

The role holders need to have experience working with communities affected by adversity, including displacement, war and conflict, poverty, abuse or marginalisation. Given the nature of Amna’s work in emergency settings with displaced communities, applicants need to be comfortable working in environments where there is uncertainty, change and exposure to distress.  

Specifically, successful candidates will have a strong experience in following areas: 

1. Work with children and families in an emergency context; 

1. Therapeutic experience – Individual and Groups; 

1. Community work experience; 

1. Designing and delivering trainings across different context; 

Amna will train role holders in Amna’s training and facilitation approach.

Responsibilities include: 

• To deliver high quality, interactive trainings in person and online.   

• To lead on Amna’s Gaza and Syria responses, working closely with a diverse, cross-cultural team and partners.  

• To develop Amna’s training materials including engaging content, structure, visuals and activities.  

• To provide ongoing support to Amna’s training participants from a range of countries on how to set up safe, community healing spaces with displaced communities.

• To facilitate learning and support groups for Amna training participants.   

• To coordinate the preparation and delivery of in person and online trainings.  

• Outside of Amna’s trainings, to maintain engagement with Amna’s training participants to share and exchange learning. 

• Travel to various countries to visit, train and observe partner organisations.

• To work in collaboration with all departments within Amna to achieve Amna’s objectives. 

  Qualifications and Experience:  

• Minimum three years of experience working therapeutically with communities affected by adversities. 

• Minimum three years of experience delivering therapeutically informed community programmes in emergency or acute contexts using creative tools. 

• Experience working in a therapeutically informed way, e.g. working with sensitivity to the needs and experiences of the communities worked with.   

• Comfortable working in English – spoken and written.  

• Comfortable in designing and delivering content in Arabic.

• Confident computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.  

• Able and willing to travel for work (if you have travel restrictions to some countries, please notify us in your application).

• Right to work in the country of residency.  

Desirable: 

• Life or work experience with refugee or/and displaced communities. 

• Education or experience in psychology, social studies such as community work, social work, intercultural education, or creative healing practices. 

• Therapeutic training (minimum 2 years training).

• Experience in delivering trainings to groups with mixed genders, languages, cultures, ethnicities, religions, (dis)abilities.

About the role

We are delighted to have received three-year funding from the Aviva Foundation to fund this brand-new Grants Officer role based in London.

You’ll be part of our Programmes team supporting kinship carers in London to access grants which will help reduce financial stress. This could be grants to buy things like white goods and uniforms or accessing Buttle grants to support children growing up in kinship care.

As Grants Officer you’ll talk to kinship carers, discuss their needs, their priorities and then write charitable grant applications on their and their family’s behalf. 

You will oversee and deliver the grants process, including co-ordinating the purchase of items (such as children’s clothes, beds or washing machines), collecting receipts for items as required by the funders and liaising with all teams to ensure timely receipt of funds within the charity and to the kinship carers.

Building relationships with funders is core, sharing the impact of the grants and insight about the lives of kinship families in London. You’ll work closely with Programmes, Peer Support, Training and Advice colleagues who work with kinship families in London.

You will also create and run online and face-to-face workshops and clinics, helping kinship carers to understand how to apply for other grants, thereby encouraging resilience and confidence to apply for grants themselves.

You will be a proactive and persuasive relationship builder, able to create partnerships with a range of organisations and peer support groups that support kinship families.

You’ll build trusting and respectful relationships with kinship carers who you will work one-to-one with in community settings. And you’ll build relationships with a range of grant giving organisations across London.

We’re looking for someone who can really deliver impact and demonstrate how embedding this role into the community helps to unlock funding and support for kinship carers at a local level.

The type of person we’re looking for

Kinship carers are at the heart of all we do. This role could be the difference between a kinship carer being able to dress their child for school properly, being able to buy a fridge, take a first holiday to the seaside… or going without.

We are looking for someone who is really organised and who is able to capture and present information clearly in a persuasive grant application. The successful applicant will be compassionate, empathetic, and organised. We are looking for someone who understands the needs of kinship families.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering our new grants service across London.
• Meeting performance targets and KPIs as directed.
• Working with kinship carers and their families across London to gather information to complete and submit grant applications.
• Administering grants we secure for our kinship carers and carry out all the necessary administration related to grants.
• Undertaking research to identify funders and build excellent relationships with local grant making charities in order to increase support for kinship families.
• Delivering grant workshops at peer support groups sharing information about locally available grants and providing advice and support on making a successful application.
• Running face-to-face grant clinics within peer support groups or community venues in London, working directly with kinship carers to write and submit requests for grants.

Essential criteria includes:

• Experience of speaking to vulnerable people on the telephone, face-to-face and online, and gathering information with empathy and understanding.
• Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their families in face-to-face and community settings.
• Experience of running online and face-to-face workshops. 
• An understanding of budgeting, managing money, income and expenditure.
• Proven understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a non-judgmental approach.
• Evidence of awareness of safeguarding issues and good practice. 
• Experience of organising and prioritising a busy workload without close supervision.
• Proven clear understanding of the need to keep grants records and communication with kinship carers and funders up to date.
• Excellent research and writing skills.

The charity offers a flexible working environment with hybrid working 2 days per week from their office in Cheam, Surrey. 

Working alongside colleagues across the Charity, the Supporter Acquisition Manager will play a key role in driving growth in new supporters and income, innovating, developing and delivering products and campaigns that inspire their audiences and underpinning the Charity’s work through growing sustainable income. 

Key Responsibilities:

•  Supported by the Head of Individual Giving and Legacy, and working with your team, you will drive the development and implementation of a multi-channel acquisition strategy. This will drive lead generation and acquisition of new supporters, growing the charity’s base of supporters, planning, testing and refining approaches to build a scalable programme which delivers volume whilst maximising long-term ROI.
•  Identify opportunities to engage key audiences at moments that matter, such as inductions, promotions, training and development programmes, transfers, secondments and retirements, working in collaboration with colleagues and in partnership with external stakeholders to design and implement new approaches.
•  Work with the appointed agency to develop a regular giving proposition that delivers a strong sense of community across supporters; valuing those who function as custodians of the nation and each other.

Person Specification: 

•  Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering successful donor acquisition programmes across a range of marketing channels.

Rainbow Migration is the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system and has been campaigning for their rights since 1993. We are recruiting for an Operations Officer to play a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day operations of the organisation.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation. We have grown rapidly in recent years from a small charity generating £200k income in 2019 to £1M in 2024. We are now expanding our operations team to support the larger staff team and delivery of our strategy.

This role will support the organisation’s ongoing development by helping ensure the charity has necessary systems in place and operates in line with its policies and procedures. You will support the organisation’s IT systems, digital transformation, HR, finance and administrative processes. Your responsibilities will include:

· Supporting the operation and improvement of systems that maintain delivery of our mission such as office management and administration, IT and HR

· Work closely with the Operations and Officer Manager to implement digital transformation to ensure that the organisation is using the best tools and working in as efficient a manner as possible

· Work closely with the Operations and Officer Manager and Administrator to ensure financial reports are produced accurately and in a timely manner

· Support the drafting of policies, procedures and systems used by the organisation

· Act as our day-to-day administrator for our database on Salesforce, with training provided as needed

· Provide first-tier support for IT problems within the organisation and liaise with our IT support provider when issues need escalation.

Role overview

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Working part-time (minimum 21 hours) will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £31,294 with potential annual step increases up to £35,086 (pro rata if working part time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, we consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.

Location: Rainbow Migration’s wheelchair accessible offices are located between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. This role will have an office-based contract but the postholder can choose to work from home for part of the week in agreement with their line manager as per our hybrid working policy. You must be available to work from our offices in London when necessary. The successful candidate would also be welcome to work from the office full-time if that is their preference. At the time of posting this advert, none of our staff are going into the office every day. There might also be occasional travel outside London with plenty of notice. Annual leave: Initially 25 days per year. After two years of employment, this will increase by one day per year up to a maximum of 28 days (pro rata if working part-time).

About the Role

Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, implementing a vital part of our philanthropy programme as we deliver our growth strategy.
 

You will identify, engage, cultivate and steward major donors (high net worth individuals) and charitable foundations to secure high value gifts and grants, grow long term strategic relationships in support of the LGBTQI movement, grow GiveOut's network, and provide a top quality donor experience. 

Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, you will support them on shaping and executing strategy and work planning, coordinating the donor database and leading on related internal processes, and deputising for the Head externally.

We are open to full time or part time (pro rata) at a minimum of 24 hours, or equivalent to 3 days per week. We are also open to flexible working arrangements to be discussed. Occasional evenings or weekends out of hours will be required, such as for networking or GiveOut hosted events, for which time off in lieu will be granted. 

Key Responsibilities

• Donor and Partner Engagement

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of major donors and trusts & foundations

  • Prospect Research and due diligence on prospective donors

  • Cultivate strong relationships with prospective and existing donors

  • Write compelling grant applications and funding proposals tailored to trusts & foundations

  • Secure five and six figure partnerships and donations to support GiveOut’s mission to grow giving to support the global struggle for LGBTQI human rights
