This role is accountable for developing and shaping the data and insight capability across our Helpline Services, Income Maximisation and Journey Improvement strands of the Financial Inclusion programme, working across all 4 nations and using this evidence to help ensure that people in crisis can access timely and high-quality advice. 

The role utilises subject matter knowledge to provide specialist data and insight analysis on demand, investment and performance on national and local services and partnerships, providing clear and actionable insights to drive informed decision making to help deliver improved experience and outcomes for people in crisis.  The post works closely with the food bank network, partners and key teams across the organisation to implement the financial inclusion strategy, whilst also leading on with data and insight requirements of Operations, Fundraising, Strategy & Impact, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Participation and Policy & Research colleagues to achieve our vision of a UK without the need for food banks.

Role responsibilities

· Develop and be accountable for the collation and aggregation of evidence for the financial inclusion programme at a national and local level, including reach and impact, implementing and oversight of the ongoing management of reporting processes, and using appropriate data systems.

· Responsible for defining research requirements and providing insights for key stakeholders including Income Maximisation Helpline Services and Journey Improvement teams, food banks and external stakeholders in line with operational plans, enabling decision making based on accurate data and insight.

· Leading on commissioning and managing external research agencies to carry out research and evaluations of financial inclusion services, based on stakeholder requirements.

· Providing technical expertise to help meet the evidence requirements and support the priorities of other teams including Policy & Research, Strategy & Impact, Operations, Fundraising, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, using a range of robust research methodologies and managing research suppliers where necessary.

· Lead collaboration with colleagues across the organisation, food bank network and external partners across the sector to capture and allocate data and insight to drive high quality and effective Financial Inclusion provision for people in crisis.

· Lead on all aspects of service and partnership reporting, and the production and presentation of reports and briefings on the impact of the financial inclusion programme, conveying insight across the charity as appropriate.

Job Role: We’re looking for a PA and Administrator who is passionate about facilitating Kingdom work. Working closely alongside the Event and Programs Manager and the Director, you will support the key organisation we serve, the Maclellan Foundation.

Animal Equality releases investigative materials captured from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. We publish our findings on television, in newspapers and online. We focus on farmed animals because of the scale and severity of the issue. More than a billion animals are confined and killed for human consumption every year in the UK. Farmed animals also often suffer in some of the worst ways: pigs typically endure painful mutilations, many chickens die of heart attacks, fish are confined in underwater cages, and some farmed animals are victims of deliberate abuse and neglect. About the role

An experienced advocate with a sound understanding of the UK political system and legislative process, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will be responsible for leading on Animal Equality’s life-saving legal advocacy campaigns on behalf of farmed animals.

Working as part of a highly effective team, within a fast-paced environment, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will develop and implement advocacy strategies that influence public policy with a goal to advance Animal Equality UK’s mission: to end the exploitation of farmed animals.

An excellent communicator, with an ability to convey complex information in a digestible way, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will be a professional with a proven track record of policy programme delivery. The role involves engaging with policymakers, building relationships with coalition partners, overseeing public affairs initiatives, and influencing Government policy to create meaningful changes for farmed animals.

General responsibilities:

• Contribute to the organisation’s policy programmes: Garner reliable intel, conduct in-depth research, and carry out robust data analysis to inform Animal Equality UK’s ongoing policy and advocacy efforts for animals. Develop authentic, ambitious, and inspiring short-term and long-term policy goals that have the greatest impact for farmed animals. Maintain and develop the organisation’s policy statements, as required.

• Work closely with campaigning colleagues: Work with colleagues in the Communications, Marketing, and Campaigns Departments to support the effective execution of public awareness campaigns that raise Animal Equality UK’s public profile and inform members of the public about the plight of farmed animals. Keep abreast of relevant political developments and maintain Animal Equality’s strong external policy presence through coordinated, proactive, and reactive lobbying and campaigning efforts.
• Grow strategically aligned partnerships: Liaise with and, where appropriate, convene fellow experts and advocacy organisations to gather intelligence, share best practice, and canvas opinion to inform policy positions. Support Animal Equality’s engagement in coalitions.

Salary band £32,500-£35,000, depending on experience. This is a remote working opportunity (UK-based candidates only); colleagues are expected to attend mandatory monthly meet-ups in central London.

They will support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with the management of the Division, with line management of the Communications and Operational and Laboratory Management Groups which including building management and capital projects, as well as the Business Support Team. They will also assist with preparing briefing documents for senior Board and Committees and deputise for the COO on committees when needed. 

The Senior Operations Manager is a busy and varied role, no two days are the same. The post holder will also assist the COO to oversee services provided to the Institute via the shared services (Norwich Bioscience Institute Partnership (NBIP)) providing Estates, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Finance, Purchasing and Computing services ensuring they are aligned to the needs of the Institute.

The ideal candidate:

The Senior Operations Manager will have a degree in relevant financial, legal, project management or operational areas of expertise or equivalent qualification.

They will have extensive experience working at Senior Management level, or working in a busy multidisciplined organisation, with involvement in the management of operational activities. They will need excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment, they will need a strong understanding of health and safety legislation in the workplace, if the post holder has experience in project management it will also be beneficial.

The person recruited will need to be a brilliant communicator, and be passionate about opening up democracy and making political and corporate change accessible to all.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have excellent political and news judgement – you know what can make a story and what impact that story can have on decision makers.

You’ll be extremely comfortable speaking to politicians and their teams, along with journalists, other communications teams in partner organisations, and 38 Degrees supporters who act as case studies in our campaigns.
