Programme Manager

The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) is a partnership of the world's biggest public research funding agencies. The Associate Members have come together to promote research collaboration and to fund research programmes to address the prevention or treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and mental health issues. GACD specifically focuses on research which will provide essential evidence on the most effective ways to prevent or manage disease in poorly resourced settings in low- and middle-income countries and to improve health equity in underserved indigenous populations. 

Reporting to the CEO, the Programme Manager will be responsible for coordination of activities between the Associate Members and lead on the delivery of GACD joint research funding calls in global implementation science on non-communicable diseases.

About the Consultancy:

Muslim Aid UK (MA) is seeking a procure a consultant to plan and facilitate an organisational Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) self-assessment process. This consultant will review its performance/deliverables against the CHS and then develop an improvement plan for MA to work on over the coming 12 months. The overall aim is to help MA to deliver improved accountability and increased effectiveness for the people affected by humanitarian crisis.

About the Role:

The consultant will:

1. Support the MA team to complete a comprehensive validated CHS self-assessment.
2. Provide an outline of the areas of compliance/ non-compliance with the standards.
3. Develop an organizational improvement plan.
4. Provide insight into organisational readiness to move towards an independent verification/certification process.

Deliverables

• Draft and share a short assignment inception report.
• Conduct a desk review of Muslim Aid documents for the documentation survey.
• Formulate a summary report and improvement plan with a set of key recommendations including timeline, to allow compliance with CHS, with the objective of achieving CHS verification.
• Present the main self-assessment findings during an internal validation webinar involving all MAUK HQ, Country Offices and implementing partners.
• Submit final report incorporating the outcomes of the self-assessment, including an improvement plan, should be delivered at the end of the consultancy assignment. This should be written in alignment with the MAUK standards including a two/three-page executive summary.

About You:

The successful consultant will need to have:

1. A relevant degree in economics, international development, disaster management or humanitarian aid or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
2. Significant experience with humanitarian work, including experience with project implementation and management, as well as knowledge of current humanitarian issues, trends, standards, specifically the Core Humanitarian Standards; Sphere Standards.
3. Previous significant experience of organizational development, preferably within humanitarian organisations.
4. Experience with CHS assessment/verification process.
5. Good written, interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Capacity to work independently and implement assignments remotely.
7. Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of other working languages Arabic, Urdu and Bengali would be an asset.
8. Experience of working in complex organisational structure.

Job Information

As Data Programme Manager, you’ll use your project and programme management skills to successfully deliver projects which improve Hospice UK’s data capabilities. You don’t need to have technical data skills, but you’ll need to be able to guide technical colleagues and third-party IT and data providers.

Your main project will produce a new Member Data Portal, enabling over 200 member hospices to submit data and view insights and analysis that informs their service offer, whilst also providing a national view of hospice care that Hospice UK will use to support member hospices with national campaigning and fundraising.

Alongside this, you will lead data projects that improve our internal performance management. This will involve working with colleagues to gather requirements and develop reporting that supports effective decision making, developing new policies and procedures, and providing training.

Excellent stakeholder management skills will be key to your success. Working with representatives from our member hospices will be vital to the success of the Member Data Portal project. Internally, you’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including the ICT and Data team who will provide technical expertise, and senior managers who will be customers for many of the projects. You’ll also work with external suppliers of technical products and services, including carrying out procurements where needed.

You’ll have great project management skills, which means you’ll be organised, structured and a pragmatic problem solver. Ideally, you’ll have experience of delivering technology, digital or data projects.

About the role

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in two of our schools in Hackney and Highbury currently delivering our Gateway programme and moving to our new Accelerate programme next school year.

They are looking for a Direct Marketing Executive in order to support the Head of Marketing in delivering effective fundraising campaigns. Working closely with the Fundraising & Marketing Team, Finance, and other key departments, this role plays a critical part in driving income from Individual Giving, aligned with the objectives outlined in the organisation’s strategic plan.

As a Direct Marketing Executive you will:

• Assist the Head of Marketing in creating, producing, and analysing direct mail appeals, ensuring financial and non-financial targets are met.
• Help create content for Acquisition, Retention, Reactivation, and Conversion campaigns.
• Manage the administration of the mailing process, including invoices and stock management.
• Support in the delivery of direct mail appeals, ensuring deadlines are met 
• Collaborate with the Data Manager to ensure accurate data selections.
• Liaise with external agencies to oversee the development of copy, artwork, and final print.
• Record and analyse direct mail results using Raisers Edge, contributing to quarterly reports and marketing insights.
• Manage direct marketing invoice administration.
• Work closely with internal teams, including Press & Public Affairs, to create impactful campaigns.
• Assist in producing video content for direct mail and other marketing activities.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of direct mail campaigns, taking responsibility for certain aspects.
• Analyse direct mail performance to inform future campaign decisions.
• Lead planning and sourcing of case studies and images for seasonal campaigns.
• Coordinate with the Senior Digital Marketing Executive to align online and direct mail appeals.
• Act as the point of contact in the absence of the Head of Marketing, ensuring continuity of campaign delivery.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience in marketing and copywriting, demonstrating the ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content.
• Experience working with designers and understanding print and production processes.
• An eye for design, detail, and the ability to create visually appealing marketing materials
• Familiarity with Raisers Edge or other marketing databases is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Creative, practical, and solution-oriented.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and take ownership of distinct projects.
• A self-starter, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong work ethic, persistence, and flexibility under pressure.
• Willing to learn and grow through both online and offline training.
• Ideally, experience or interest in the charity sector.
• A good grasp of marketing principles and how they apply to fundraising.

Our client is looking for a Policy Officer to contribute to our work on employment rights and wider labour market policy.

This position has been created to boost their policy capacity at a time of significant shifts in the UK labour market. The role will support our response to both new legislation and a rapidly changing economy.

It will suit someone who is as comfortable analysing government data as they are writing a briefing for the General Secretary and who has a strong commitment to delivering better outcomes for working people.

What key experience, skills, knowledge and understanding do you need?

 You will need:

• Experience in evidence-based policy development on issues related to employment rights and/or labour markets
• Experience initiating and carrying through qualitative or quantitative research projects
• Confident skills in evaluating and communicating a range of data sources from legal material to quantitative data

How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).
