ABOUT THE SUBSTANCE MISUSE WORKER ROLE
Are you passionate about making a real impact in people's lives? We are thrilled to announce a brand-new opportunity to join our dynamic team in Croydon as a Substance Misuse Worker on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be at the heart of transforming the lives of our residents who reside in a 27-bed property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. The team support in creating a psychologically informed environment to support individual specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.
You will conduct comprehensive, person centered assessments that drive personalised recovery journeys. As the newest addition to our team, you will be leading efforts to develop and implement holistic support strategies.
Penrose Miller House: Is a 27 bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. The team offers psychologically-informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.
Shift Pattern: This role is full time 37.5 hours per week. Hours to be discussed, you will be based in service.
Salary: £29,000
Travel: The role is based in East Croydon, accessible by Train and Tram Link. Any travel required outside your home location for work-related purposes can be expensed.
What are we looking for from a Substance Misuse Worker?
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with people of complex backgrounds. Ideally ex-offenders, those with enduring mental health, substance misuse, dual diagnosis and challenging behaviours
- Experience of assessing needs and strengths, and supporting people with dual diagnosis and complex needs
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental illness
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software

Job summary
The Trusts and Foundations Team is part of the Fundraising and Marketing Communications Department and is central to Whizz Kidz contributing to its ambitious goal of ensuring that every young wheelchair user in the UK is mobile, enabled and included. The six-strong team is responsible for delivering over £3m a year for the organisation’s services.
As Senior Trust Fundraising Manager you will be responsible for researching suitable 5 and 6 figure funding opportunities that are in line with Whizz Kidz’s strategic plan and fundraising priorities and manage existing funding relationships. This is a well-established income stream for Whizz Kidz with content for proposals readily available and accessible and you will have the opportunity to work with long standing supporters, helping them feel inspired by the impact of their gift. You will use your skills of relationship management to make a real difference to the lives of young wheelchair users. Finally, you will join an ambitious, young person focused and collaborative fundraising team, keen to share success and support one another.
The person
The ideal candidate will have experience of identifying and successfully bidding for 5 and 6 figure grants from Trusts and Foundations sources and will be an excellent spoken and written communicator with a particular emphasis on funding application writing and reporting. They will have strong prospect research skills with the ability to secure high value funding partnerships and an understanding of the issues young wheelchair users face so as to convey the work of Whizz Kidz to funders.

About the role
The Supporter Data Officer will be focused on the day-to-day maintenance and development of our supporter records in our Salesforce CRM. JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a maternity cover for our Trust & Foundations Manager role. Passionate about Trust Fundraising at a high level and about UNHCR’s work, this role is involved in the cultivation and stewardship of some our biggest and most established trust and foundation donors.
You will join our small but talented Philanthropy Team supporting on identifying and bringing on board new and prospective trust and foundation supporters, and securing repeat income from key relationships.
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate donor relationships. An experienced fundraiser, you will provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.
You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing prospect pipelines and crafting compelling donor communications.
This role is also responsible for managing the Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage the Senior Officer working on trusts and foundations.
- Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to develop new opportunities with trusts and foundation donors in line with UK for UNHCR’s fundraising strategy, achieving six figure income targets.
- Support the development and management of a robust prospect pipeline and a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions, engagement, cultivation and stewardship of donors.
- Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors.
- Craft compelling propositions and proposals for trusts and foundation donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
- Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing trust and foundation donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
- Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
- Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke trust and foundation activities including virtual and in-person events.
- Help to position and raise awareness of UK for UNHCR’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK for UNHCR at events, as appropriate.
- Work within UK for UNHCR’s due diligence policy and data protection policies and processes.

About the role

Crisis currently select data from Raiser’s Edge however, the successful candidate may have experience with a different CRM system. WaterAid is seeking a talented Senior Communications Manager to lead the planning and delivery of a special project, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
As the Senior Communications Manager, you will oversee the delivery of an exciting one-off project, leading a dynamic team of colleagues from across media, celebrity, digital, fundraising and content functions. Reporting to Brand & Strategic Communications Lead, your focus will be ensuring all are aligned to deliver on time to a high standard, through planning and integration. You will set campaign KPIs and monitor performance against them and you will regularly report on budget, progress and risk to senior stakeholders in our UK and US offices
In this role you will develop communications strategies to help WaterAid maximise brand-reach and income-raising potential and lead a cross-functional working group to deliver on these strategies. You will be collaborating closely with our teams in communications and fundraising in both UK and US, so occasionally the post holder will join meetings in US time (East and West Coast).
Alongside this campaign the post holder will also support the brand and strategic comms functions in the planning and delivery of a brand awareness campaign for March 2026.
You’ll also:
- Lead the development of campaign specific communications across key target audiences, including potential and existing supporters, high value donors, partners and campaigners.
- Oversee messaging and creative which resonates with target audiences.
- Map out, with our media and celebrity team, PR opportunities to engage the public.
- Lead a delivery group team of cross functional specialists to ensure all the strands of the campaign are in alignment and on schedule.
- Regularly report on progress and risk to the project steering group.
- Brief-in and sign-off campaign creative with external agencies and in-house teams.
