About this job:
As a Mass Participation Officer, you will:
- Plan and implement the delivery of assigned mass participation events within your portfolio.

- Build supporter journeys that steward those who take part in your events to increase retention and engagement and build brand loyalty throughout.

Media and PR

Head of Finance required for a non-ministerial government department that provides specialist analysis, advice and assurance to other government departments and organisations.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation as they are setting out their strategy over the next five years, planning a transition to a new finance system, delivering efficiencies across the department and enhancing decision making. The Head of Finance will enjoy a mix of financial accounting, reporting and systems work.
Key areas of responsibility will include;
- Lead the Finance team through transition to a new finance system.
- Assure key business and system changes, working closely with colleagues across the department to ensure future changes align to relevant accounting standards, best practice and Government Functional Standards.
- Lead on financial accounting, including preparation of the annual report and accounts, audit exercises, operational financial activity e.g. cash flow management and act as the main contact to the NAO.
- Lead on external reporting to HM Treasury and Cabinet Office, e.g. Main and Supplementary Estimates, spending controls and transparency returns.
- Provision of expert technical financial advice - which can include sensitive and complex accounting and budgeting issues.
- Ensure robust stewardship of, and accounting for, public money, underpinned by effective planning and internal controls.

In order to be successful in the role, we are looking for a formally qualified accountant with significant experience gained in a similar role. This will be a blend of reporting, financial accounting with a keen interest in developing finance systems.

Your role will involve:
Governance support to the Board
- Scheduling board meetings
- Liaising with the relevant colleagues to put together the board updates.
- Taking minutes during board meetings.
- Assisting with governance compliance tasks.
- Acting as a point of liaison for the Board on queries relating to governance, meetings etc.
Support to the CEO
· Taking ownership of a complex diary and schedules through gatekeeping and prioritisation.
· Ensuring all internal meetings have an agenda and action points.
· Booking meeting rooms or venues (e.g. restaurants) for appointments.
· booking tickets for events.
· Support on special projects, conduct basic research, and assist with ad hoc tasks as required.
Other responsibilities include
· Travel and accommodation booking.
· Supporting office events coordination.
· Assisting with answering calls.
· 2 days a week at reception to welcome guests.
Hours of Work:
• Monday to Thursday – 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm
• Expectation that some evening and weekend work may be required to attend events as the business requires
This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.
Our shops generate valuable income to support our services, create opportunities for homeless people to learn new skills and contribute to Crisis’ work in the community. They have a unique contemporary visual identity and are dynamic and creative places to work.

About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Supervisor to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.
As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.
This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have significant retail or customer service experience alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be seeking a challenge that stands out from other retail roles and will be looking to build a career in this sector. You will be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Fundraising Executive is an integral part of the Fundraising team, providing outstanding administrative and general fundraising support. The Fundraising Executive manages all incoming fundraising enquiries and provides excellent customer care and stewardship to our third-party event supporters.
