As an Evaluation and Learning Manager you will lead on ensuring that rigorous evidence is  systematically used to drive impact for people living in Lambeth and Southwark and  to advance the emerging field of urban health. To achieve these aims, we provide expertise, set standards and lead the design and development of approaches to be increasingly rigorous and consistent, whilst pragmatic. We work closely with colleagues across several teams as well as external providers, and need to design our approaches thoughtfully, whilst keeping up momentum and focus. You will be skilled in multiple stakeholder management and have demonstrated ability to implement and improve meaningful evaluation and learning for complex and experimental interventions and programmes. 

Key Responsibilities

Impact on Urban Health  

• Lead on providing technical evaluation and learning advice and  support to Programme Colleagues  and our funded partners for the Health Effects of Air Pollution and Children’s Health and Food programmes, with guidance from the Head of Programme Evaluation. 
• Ensure evaluation and learning activity within programmes  meets the strategic objectives of each programme, and is high-quality, equitable and inclusive. 
• Work closely with programme and influencing colleagues to  ensure that evaluation and learning approaches within each programmeare designed with our internal and external evidence needs in mind, so that insights are useful for both internal decision making and external influencing. 
• Advice  programme teams  on the commissioning and effective management of external  evaluation and learning partner support. 
• In collaboration with the Learning team, support programme teams with developing and implementing  evaluation learning practices, so that insights inform internal decision making and external influencing. 
• In collaboration with Data, Evaluation and Learning team colleagues, build the evaluation and learning skills and capabilities of programme colleagues.  

Evaluation and Learning Team responsibilities 

• Co-ordinate and contribute to  the development of evaluation and learning tools  resources and systems. 
• Lead and  support team initiatives as appropriate, such as networks of external partners focused on sharing learning. 
• Support cross-programmatic evaluation and learning alignment across Impact on Urban Health. 
• Develop personal expertise in urban health evidence. 
• Play an active role in staying up to date on evaluation and learning methodologies and approaches.

• Experience of leading and managing high volume of activities and relationships.

The charity’s mission is to make data work for nature. The Better Biodiversity Data (BBD+1) programme is a bold new step towards transforming how biodiversity data is managed, accessed and used to support conservation, planning and policy decisions in Scotland.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial management and reporting strategies as well as ensuring strong financial control processes across the team. You will also oversee the IT team, ensuring the development of strong IT policies.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Support the Senior Management Team to shape long-term organisational strategy
• Lead on organisational strategies and plans encompassing finance, operations, IT and risk management
• Offer expert financial advice and analysis to aid management teams in strategic decision making
• Support the CEO in risk management
• Provide overall leadership to the finance function, ensuring strong finance systems are in place
• Lead the relationship with Crisis Action's auditors
• Ensure the funds of Crisis Action are invested to achieve maximum returns
• Oversee organisational security systems and processes
• Ensure the development of a strong IT policy

Essential:

• CCAB Qualified Accountant
• Experience leading finance teams within a human rights or international development organisation
• Strong understanding of Charity SORP
• Knowledge of IT and infrastructure

Salary is £70,000- £80,000 (Subject to experience) + Excellent Benefits.

Legacy Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legacy Officer to join our team. You would be responsible for your share of the legacy administration cases in the UK, ensuring that gifts left to IFAW in Wills are handled efficiently, sensitively, and in accordance with legal and organisational standards. You would report to the Global Legacy Administration Manager on a day-to-day basis. Your work will directly support IFAW’s mission by maximising income from legacies to fund our animal welfare and conservation efforts.

Role and Responsibilities

· Managing a caseload of legacy gifts: This includes pecuniary, residuary and life interest legacies, ensuring IFAW receives its full entitlement in a timely manner. This may include a small selection of contentious cases.

· Working closely with solicitors, executors, and beneficiaries: You’ll provide accurate and sensitive support throughout the probate process, building trust and ensuring a smooth experience for all parties involved.

· Maintaining meticulous records and reports: You’ll ensure accurate financial and contact records are kept, reports are generated on time, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements is met.

· Providing recommendations for action: You’ll provide your suggestions to move forward any legacy case where action needs to be sanctioned by management or Trustees, or where there may be a risk to the charity's reputation.

· Assisting with monthly/annual reconciliation and audit: This includes following our financial rules to make appropriate accruals, adjustments, and provide audit-ready case files.

· Liasing with other teams within IFAW: When appropriate, you’ll work collaboratively with other teams, such as Finance, Donor Relations or the Legal team, to ensure a seamless process for legacy gifts, and to promote the legacy team’s recognition and standing in the organisation through internal engagement.

· Staying up to date on relevant legislation and best practices: You’ll be a member of the ILM and regularly keep abreast of changes in the world on legacy case management, to ensure IFAW’s legacy administration remains efficient and compliant.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· At least 1 year of experience in legacy administration or estate management: You’ll have a strong understanding of probate laws, Wills, trust, and estate administration. Experience of using FirstClass is desirable.

· Achieved or willing to work towards certification: You have or will work towards gaining the ILM’s Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA).

· Excellent attention to detail: You’re numerate, careful and ensure accuracy in all your work.

· Strong communication skills: You can build rapport with solicitors, executors, and bereaved families, providing sensitive and clear communication.

· Proactive and organized: You can manage multiple tasks effectively and keep up with work and deadlines without compromising quality.

· Know when to ask for help: You’re comfortable working unsupervised and as part of a team and you can identify when you should consult with your manager.

· IT proficiency: You’re comfortable using CRM’s like FirstClass and other relevant software for record-keeping and reporting. You understand Microsoft 365 software like Word and Excel.

· Passion for animal welfare: You understand the impact of IFAW’s work and are motivated to contribute to our mission.

Being a Switchback Mentor is a unique opportunity to build transformative relationships with young men leaving prison in London.

Are you passionate about working 1-to-1 with young prison-leavers from a variety of backgrounds; many of whom are from marginalised communities, to help them lead more stable, rewarding lives?

As a Switchback Mentor, you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of young prison leavers, helping them break free from the justice system and build stable, rewarding futures. You will be responsible for building your own caseload by engaging directly with young men in prison and providing intensive support after their release. In addition to working with those you meet in prison; you will also support Trainees referred to the programme after they have already been released.

Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partners, we have ambitious plans and a compelling model which in its simplest form promotes healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness.  

The successful post holder will have experience in leading the development of well-written, compelling proposals and reports to charitable trusts and corporate foundations; demonstrating key relationship management skills to ensure all our funders feel part of Groundswell’s mission. You will be a flexible worker with strong organisational, research and written communication skills. You will pride yourself in collaborative working to ensure the most successful chance of securing income, whilst being a self-starter who can manage their own workload effectively.
