You'll be supported by experienced & knowledgeable colleagues as well as mentored by our Senior Legacy Management Officer and contribute to a collaborative and highly effective team.
Key parts of this role are to
- manage a caseload of residuary, life interest, discretionary and high value legacies
- communicate clearly and sensitively, mainly to solicitors, co-beneficiary charities, executors, friends & family
- maximise the value of the income whilst protecting our reputation

This role is at the forefront of what we do as an organisation. You will be working across Gloucestershire or Heerfordshire or South Gloucestershire , visiting people in their own homes and giving advice at community events.
This role is home-based but requires extensive travel within the area. It can be either full or part time.
As a Community-based Energy Adviser, you will focus on supporting and educating individuals and families who face barriers to accessing energy services and may be in fuel poverty. You will support them through the process of managing and reducing debt, accessing funding and engaging with smart technology.
This can be a demanding role – some of your clients will be facing huge challenges – but it is extremely rewarding and you will be making a measurable difference to people’s quality of life. You will give at-risk consumers the knowledge and confidence to be more engaged in their energy use and able to make sound decisions to manage it — ultimately putting money back in their pockets and improving their resilience and wellbeing. We are seeking a dynamic and efficient Events Manager to deliver a world-class and sector-leading portfolio of annual events to support LSHTM’s Strategy to both internal and external audiences. Events are diverse and include graduation ceremonies for students, conferences and lectures for academics, policymakers and funders, as well as internal community social events. Working within the Communications & Engagement department, the events team provide best practice guidance to others across LSHTM arranging events through a toolkit.
Who we’re looking for
You should have proven experience in event management, including the coordination of staff and financial resources. You must have excellent organisational skills with ability to multi-tasking to deliver a varied portfolio of events with impact. We run a range of our own community services to support older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.
Role Purpose
Provide strategic leadership for KLS’ Refugee Family Programme, ensuring that programme direction and delivery is strategically aligned, responds to learning and changes in context, and maximises our impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing clear and steady leadership and management to all aspects of our newly formed Refugee Family programme, which has grown out of previous separate projects to better meet the holistic needs of people we support.
- Managing and developing the budget and finances; whilst supporting the fundraising lead to secure its financial viability.
- Directly lead the scoping and planning of the Refugee Family Programme Strategy to:
- Develop and expand existing programmes.
- Identify opportunities to create, innovate and improve projects within the Refugee Family Programme - such as community outreach workshops, advocacy support, Educational Classes, and Groups, Mentoring and Clubs - to meet the needs of the people we support and those who may need our support in the future.
- Undertake regular horizon scanning and environmental analysis to ensure KLS has a full understanding of the potential for growth and programme development associated with the current, future and changing demand and need.
- Build and maintain effective networks and partnerships that will ultimately support people to realise their potential.
- Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop appropriate processes, systems and working practices that create a continuous improvement approach and ensure insights-based impact reporting, evaluation and decision making.

Administration

- Ensure all member and project records are kept up to date on Salesforce.

Safeguarding
- Responsible for embedding safeguarding best practice and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the programme team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Refugee Family Programme Team, working with Safeguarding Officers and Duty Leads to ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed and recorded appropriately and safeguarding cover is maintained across the team in line with KLS’ procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive leadership and management experience, coupled with a track record of leading the strategic development of services for adults and children (of all ages) from the refugee community that improve their access to education and justice, reduce their isolation and improve their ability to navigate their journey.
- Extensive experience of working with people from vulnerable groups, especially children and young people, ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery.
- Experience of working with refugee communities.
- Up to date knowledge of the English education system, rights to education, the barriers facing refugee communities in accessing education and how these might be addressed.
- Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety (including trips and residentials for children and families), in theory and in practice.
- Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to people from vulnerable groups.

Transport for All is looking for a Head of Research and Training to lead and grow our work on Justice in Practice: where disabled people’s lived experience is meaningfully embedded, appropriately compensated, and responded to in the transport sector and beyond. We have a bold plan for the next five years, and need someone who can support the team to deliver in line with our values.
As a member of the leadership team, you’ll secure funding for and lead delivery of our own research projects, and research projects with the transport industry, academia, charities and other organisations. You’ll lead a unique, disabled-led research and training team who are dedicated to removing barriers to transport for disabled people. This isn’t about gathering yet more evidence – it’s about responding to the lived experience of our diverse community and using research and training to drive change.
Recent projects including collaborating with Sustrans on the Disabled Citizens Inquiry into Walking and Wheeling, facilitating product testing by disabled people of an external organisation’s app for planning barrier-free walking, wheeling and cycling routes, and grant-funded research into removing barriers to accessing transport concessionary schemes. You’ll also lead and develop our Disability Equality Training offering – disabled-led training sessions for transport practitioners that lead to a culture change in the sector.
This is a new role, and the post holder will have opportunities to shape the scope and ways of working of the role – and the wider organisation – to aid delivery of the strategy. As a result, please note that the role is not limited to the elements included here, and has potential to evolve.

We’re recruiting for a Fundraising Project Lead to join Samaritans. You’ll work in a small & friendly team to lead and deliver a programme of virtual fundraising challenges and with plans to grow our current virtual flagship event to include an in-person element. You’ll lead a ‘best in class’ stewardship programme, with engaging content and communications that support participants to maximise their fundraising and build lasting relationships with Samaritans.

The Person
We are looking for a people person with the ability to lead, develop and support large groups of fundraisers. You’ll have exceptional project and time management skills. You’ll have experience of working with charity supporters in a fundraising environment and an understanding of databases and processes.

You’ll join a passionate and supportive team of experienced individuals, all with the same common goal – of futureproofing our international digital services footprint.
We’re rolling out a cutting edge CCAAS platform (Amazon Connect) which is the central digital platform for contact services including online chat and voice). This platform will be used to deliver a phone call every 10 seconds to our 20,000 volunteers, 24/7 hours per day, 365 days per year. Your role will help to reduce the number of people who die by suicide.
You’ll be a strong people manager, understand about rolling out service management frameworks such as an information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) and be familiar with service desk operations and IT service management. You’ll be passionate about understanding all of the integration points across a vast network of carriers, platforms, vendors and quality assurance partners.

About the Role
In brief, this role involves being the first point of contact for any IT related issues at Sunbury Court, in terms of reported issues from Presenters, Delegates, Customers or Staff. Assist personnel and delegates with Microsoft 365 request including the desktop suite & maintain the delegate devices held at ICO.
The role will also aid the ICO processes for visitors including Delegate Visa processes and documents needed by the Zones and Territories. Provide any further administrative support required.

The successful candidate will have:
- A level or equivalent within an IT Discipline (A degree in computer science or equivalent).
- A broad technical knowledge of IT, PC’s/peripherals, and their architecture
- Good software and hardware troubleshooting skills

- Good customer facing skills.
