About the role
We are searching for an exceptional Learning Disability (LD) User Involvement Project Manager to work in our well-regarded learning disability user involvement services.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the ‘Synergy’ Learning Disability User Involvement Project, supporting and supervising ‘experts by experience’ - learning disability representatives, volunteers and participants - and actively reaching out to the wider Camden learning disability community, reporting their views to Council, NHS and CCG representatives, helping to shape the services people from this community receive.
Key responsibilities
- Support the user-led ethos of the Synergy project, and provide line management, supervision, support, and annual appraisal of the Synergy Reps. This also includes managing volunteers, work experience/internship opportunities, and recruitment to the Synergy project; and processing reward & recognition, salary payments and queries.
- Manage and deliver consultations, training, groups, and workshops that align with local and national priorities, as well as the Advocacy Project’s strategic priorities, feeding this into decision-making forums. This will include involvement in the Camden Planning Together Board, including agenda setting, creating Easy read documents, and supporting the co-chair.
- Design and conduct consultations, through a variety of methods including interviews, surveys, focus groups, meetings, and forums; with individuals or groups; in person, online, and via telephone or video calls. Collate consultation results and write up evaluation reports.
- Provide regular speaking up opportunities, which might include drop-ins, group meetings, consultations, forums and focus groups as well as one-to-one interviews - addressing any gaps in diversity to ensure a diverse representation of the community are engaging in opportunities.
- Develop effective working relationships with key staff in health and social care and voluntary sector services including carers; working in partnership with them to raise awareness of the Advocacy Project services and to amplify user voice and to shape local and national services.
- Manage the service according to the contract and allocated budgets ensuring they meet agreed standards, monitoring system requirements, service goals and outcomes; and provide accurate and timely project updates and monitoring reports.
- Develop and manage income generation opportunities such as training, awareness sessions, and easy read translation.
- Work according to the Equality Act 2010 and other forms of legislation that combat discrimination and promote equality and diversity.
- Communicate effectively with people with a learning disability, including people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), using a range of creative approaches – for example, Makaton, intensive interaction and objects of reference - to maximise participation opportunities in line with the Advocacy Project’s Accessible Information Standards.
- Support the Synergy team to participate in recruitment or procurement procedures within but not limited to Camden Council, NHS settings, and NCL CCG.
- Use organisational software and systems to record information that will contribute to the writing of regular reports.
- Keep up to date with developments and good practice guidelines in advocacy and user involvement and of health and social care services/legislation and local and national policy, and priorities relating to people with learning disabilities. This includes co-production, involvement, representation and consultation practices.
- Work with commissioners and key stakeholders to develop effective consultation, involvement, and co-production.
- Attend local, London-wide, and national events and meetings; and support the Synergy Reps and volunteers to attend.
- Work as an active member of the user involvement team - contributing to service planning and development. Where necessary, provide cover within the UI team.

Person specification

Essential qualities and attributes:
- Understanding of the issues faced by people with a learning disability, and recent developments in policy and practice, and health and social care legislation.
- Sound knowledge of services for people with learning disabilities
- Experience of the principles, practice and different approaches to user involvement, including co-production, consultation and speaking up forums.
- Ability to listen, communicate and build trust with people with learning disabilities, including those with high support and complex needs and/or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), to enable them to express their views and support their inclusion in the development of local, London-wide and National strategy.
- Ability to manage group dynamics, and negotiate/resolve conflicts or disagreements that may arise during group meetings.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders including commissioners, volunteers, service users and colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and understanding and experience of using a variety of creative communication methods such as Intensive interaction, Easy read, Makaton, Talking mats, and Objects of reference etc.

- Experience of providing supervision and support to others
- Commitment to working within the Advocacy Project code of conduct, equality and diversity, and safeguarding policies.

User Voice exists to reduce reoffending and improve rehabilitation by working with those who are often not heard. One of the main ways that we do this is through our council model, which allows those currently in prison, or on licence, to have their say and contribute ideas and solutions to benefit everyone. Duties and key responsibilities
Support and Information
- To deliver the Sarcoma UK Support Line, a confidential telephone and email support and information service for anyone affected by sarcoma. This includes:
- Providing individual information and support to service users on sarcoma and related issues, by telephone, email and other media as the service develops.
- Adhering to quality standards, confidentiality, Sarcoma UK policies and the standard operating procedures of the Support Line.
- Under direction from the Director of Research, Policy and Support and Support Line Manager, contribute to Sarcoma UK’s social and other media as appropriate.
- To provide clinical input to the development of the charity’s information materials including the revision of existing information materials and the development of new information products.
- To provide input to the clinical content of the charity’s website.
- To raise awareness of the charity’s information and support services within the health professional field.
- To contribute sarcoma knowledge and clinical expertise across all the charity’s programmes.
Maintain Professional Knowledge
- Keep up to date with treatment and care of sarcoma through research and review of publications, horizon scanning, and attending study days and conferences, and disseminate this information within the charity.
- Adhere to the standards of good practice outlined in the AHP / NMC professional code of conduct, or relevant professional body’s standards.
- Maintain professional registration and compliance with revalidation requirements ensuring ongoing clinical education and professional development.
- Attend mandatory clinical supervision sessions.
External Relationships
- To maintain positive relationships with key Sarcoma UK stakeholders including sarcoma patients, family members/carers and support group leaders.
- To develop and maintain contact with sarcoma specialist healthcare professionals, including clinicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals who have reviewed our information materials.
Other
- To support new work within the information and support team.
- The role will require some travel to meetings and events throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was born out of the tragic story of Suzy Lamplugh, a 25-year-old estate agent who went missing whilst at work in 1986, was never found, and was eventually declared deceased in 1993. Purpose of Role:
· To provide expert advice and advocacy to victims of stalking.

· To support the operational Team Leaders where required.

Our Senior Practitioners will provide interim cover across SHP, providing supervisory support where needed to staff teams. This could include our Multiple Disadvantage and Complex Needs accommodation services, Young Peoples Services or Floating Support Services.

About the role and services:
Multiple Disadvantage and Complex Needs: These services provide accommodation and support to people who are moving from rough sleeping and who have needs relating to their mental and physical health, their substance addiction, offending behaviour and mental health. Often at the point of referral, a client’s needs have not been met by any of the services they may require. Part of our role is building the trusting relationships required to put the necessary support in place. Understandably, therefore, these services operate in challenging environments and require resilient and compassionate staff.
Young Peoples' Services: These services are dedicated to providing support to young people, specifically in relation to leaving care, offending behaviour, gang affiliation, complex mental health and anti-social behaviour. We work within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. Working in these services would mean overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. The postholder will hold a caseload of complex cases and will be responsible for supporting the team to manage complex cases. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non-statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.
Floating Support Services: Focussed on fostering independence and empowering your clients, we work to support individuals to sustain their tenancy, enhance their wellbeing, build resilience, and achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether assisting with housing issues, addressing mental health concerns, or supporting the development of daily living skills, the primary goal is to enable clients to navigate challenges and lead fulfilling lives. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support, making sure that clients are actively involved and that the support offered is full and holistic. You would be part of a supportive and inclusive work environment that values teamwork and individual growth.
We are looking to recruit permanent staff with these qualities to provide SHP’s clients with consistent support in line with SHP’s values, delivery model, policies and procedures and support planning tools.
As a member of the Peripatetic Senior Practitioner Team, you will move between services and will generally cover a rota ‘line’ until we recruit to the vacancy that the worker is covering, providing interim supervisory support to staff teams as directed by the Team/Service manager. (In Multiple Disadvantage, Complex Needs and Young People Services, covering a rota 'line' will involve working on a rota that includes evening work and may also include regular weekend and Bank Holiday work.) You would then be reassigned to another service in need of your support. The role therefore provides an opportunity to model and share good practice between services.
SHP will support you with a comprehensive induction and training package, including how to work in SHP's trauma-informed support model.
About you:
- A high-level understanding and ability to manage the range of issues involved in the delivery of quality services to clients who may be at risk and who have complex mental health needs.
- Experience and an in-depth understanding of the principles and delivery of risk and needs assessment, planned support, goal setting and advocacy with clients within a recovery and strengths model, and the ability to share this and support others to deliver this.
- Demonstrable aptitude for monitoring, developing and supporting staff performance and the ability to motivate staff members to perform effectively.
- An ability to provide flexible and client centred solutions to problems of behaviour. Also, the ability to embed psychologically informed methods of work within an accommodation setting.
- A demonstrably high level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension in order to be able to contribute to budget setting, monitor expenditure, write reports and review, analyse and extrapolate from written information.
- Ability to co-ordinate the work of a number of individuals or agencies to get tasks completed to time and to specification.
- Strong networking skills, and proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to establish or improve services to service users.
- Specific skills and expertise support one of the SHP service groups - Adult Multiple Disadvantage and Mental Health Accommodation Services, Young People’s Services or Floating Support Services.

To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.

To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.
Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.
- Activities will include creating budget plans, completing income maximisation checks and benefit claims, carrying out switching exercises and Home Energy Surveys (this is not an exclusive list of tasks)

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with fundraising and communications teams across the charity, including Philanthropy, Trusts, Commercial Partnerships and Special Events, with a growing focus on Individual Giving, Events, Community and Supporter Experience as the appeal builds momentum.
