Our new centre will host scientists from the universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and the work of the Community Fundraiser for Scotland will largely be based within the Central Belt of Scotland.

As a key part of our fundraising efforts in a high-performing regional team at Brain Tumour Research, you will have the opportunity to drive income generation through a variety of initiatives, including challenge events, fundraising groups, and corporate partnerships such as charity of the year across the whole of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate income across a range of community fundraising initiatives and events
• Steward supporters to help drive the charity’s fundraising activities and growth
• Work with the fundraising team to develop and maintain strong relationships with fundraisers, donors, partners, and key stakeholders
• Contribute towards the growth and success of fundraising efforts, ensuring a sustainable income stream for the vital ongoing funding of brain tumour research

Requirements:

• At least one year of fundraising experience, with a proven track record in income generation

The Role

The Senior Individual Giving Officer will act as a source of fundraising expertise in the Direct Marketing and wider development team, as well as the global Development and Marketing teams. Lead on devising a digital strategy that will maximise supporter engagement and acquisition, and thus grow individual giving income, with the input of the Direct Marketing Manager

Mercy Corps Europe's fundraising team is in a growth phase and there are many opportunities to innovate. Creative freedom is very much encouraged and the diversity of the organisation's programmes makes our fundraising work truly varied. There is huge potential in this role to deliver initiatives that will have a significant impact in growing our donor base, including testing new ways of engaging with audiences, integrating marketing across new channels, expanding use of online advertising, SEO and AdWords, harnessing data to create more effective campaigns, engaging thought-leaders and influencers online, and investigating new innovative ways of reaching key audiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience of the latest trends in fundraising and will have both the creative and technical skills to deliver key elements of the direct marketing strategy. They will have demonstrable knowledge of the UK fundraising market, with experience of working across multiple online channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our stewardship programme is underpinned by our emails and so experience devising communications plans and writing for email is a must. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing work environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Supporter development

●Lead on integrating online and offline fundraising, offering supporters a cross-platform experience

●Lead on innovating our digital offering - taking ideas from conception through to testing and beyond

●Work with the Individual Giving Officer to innovate our fundraising offerings and find new ways of acquiring supporters

●Ensure that Mercy Corps grows the number of engaged supporters and income across channels to meet targets

●Responsible for day-to-day implementation of digital campaigns and activity (including email, PPC, social, programmatic and display), to deliver against set targets

●With support from the rest of the team, develop and edit digital fundraising content suitable for target audiences, such as prospective online donors or re-engaging lapsed donors, ensuring consistency with Mercy Corps branding and style guidelines 

●Review and analyse results of fundraising activities and make changes to future work based on this

●Regularly obtain feedback from the audiences that we are contacting to ensure that we are optimising the way we communicate

●Identify new platforms and channels, and keep abreast of current fundraising trends and comparator organisations to ensure that Mercy Corps in Europe is relevant with supporters

●Work alongside Fundraising Operations to inform campaigns, and with the Media and Communications team to ensure that fundraising integrates appropriately with media and communications strategy and activities.

●Manage Google Adwords account effectively to maximise engagements and income. Optimise balancing grants with paid account

●Become the charity knowledge lead on  digital platforms such as Actionkit to upskill colleagues and support cross-team working

●Assist with internal training as required in regards to digital initiatives.

●In conjunction with the Direct Marketing Manager, responsible for ensuring that all fundraising activities are legal and adhere to industry best practice.

The position has supervisory responsibility over interns and/or volunteers.

Qualifications and Transferable Skills

●At least five years of experience in a fundraising/marketing role, with proven experience in digital fundraising, including planning and delivering campaigns.

●Demonstrable knowledge of a range of digital fundraising channels.

●Experience of writing and editing engaging content for online donor audiences.

●Experience of setting digital KPIs and developing in-house digital fundraising capabilities.

●Proven ability to use analytics/metrics and user testing to inform and improve online campaigns.

●Ability to work to brand and style guidelines.

●Ideally prior experience of working with external digital agencies.

●A working knowledge of UK and European charity law and data protection.

●Some knowledge of Canva would be beneficial.

Living Condition

The position is based in London, Edinburgh or remote and may require some national or international travel.

MCE team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a short term assignment or trip to country offices. The role of Communications and Marketing Coordinator sits within the Communications Team at Kids Matter. As we seek to grow our audiences, our influence and ultimately our impact, it’s an exciting time to join the team. This role will predominantly be responsible for the day-to-day fulfilment of email marketing, maintaining our social media presence and ensuring the website is kept up to date.

Antibiotic Research UK  (ANTRUK) is the UK patient organisation for people impacted by antibiotic and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Our legitimacy to advocate for change, with policy makers and NHS organisations, comes from our small-scale research projects, our engagement with patients and their families, and from our direct support of patients through our information service and peer-support activities.

Our team includes researchers, educators, community activists and policy experts, as well as specialists with inside access to far right groups.

As a Content Officer, you’ll play a critical role in driving our digital engagement. By creating compelling content for our social media, website and email programmes, you’ll help us attract, inspire, and mobilise more people to stand against hate. 

Your role will include:

• Content Creation: Write, design, and produce engaging content, including social media posts, emails, website copy and more. Use tools like Canva, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and CapCut to create graphics and videos from new and existing footage. 

• Digital Campaigns: Work with the Digital Lead to plan and execute creative campaigns that inspire action and raise funds. 

• Audience Engagement: Build and manage our presence on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, X, and BlueSky, and engage with supporters through other platforms. Act as the first point of contact for supporters, responding to messages and comments and managing replies. 

• Performance Monitoring: Run tests on content across platforms, analyse results, and use insights to refine and improve our engagement strategies. 

What we think you’ll need to be able to do the job:

Essential

• 1+ year of experience in digital work for a campaign, charity, or political organisation. 

• Creativity and strong ideas for engaging content. 

• Experience in copywriting, graphic design, and video production and tools like Canva, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and CapCut. 

• Strong organisational skills, and ability to prioritise effectively. 

Desirable: 

• Knowledge and experience in the areas we work on would be an advantage – tackling the far right; building community resilience against hate, division and oppression; and campaigning against policies that fuel hate.

We are looking for someone with the emotional resilience to work in a field that involves challenging content, good political judgement and awareness and the ability to work under pressure and reduced timescales.

Why this role is important – and why you’ll make a difference doing it:

HOPE not hate is the UK’s leading anti-fascist organisation. Our mission is simple: To monitor and challenge the far right, to engage in the communities that are susceptible to them and to address the issues and policies which give rise to them.

The 2024 summer riots laid clear the susceptibility within communities for far-right narratives. Locally, many stakeholders are struggling with providing alternatives that combat this framing.

As part of our wider community resilience work, we will be hosting a series of community events across the country, with the aim of celebrating local identity, strengthening social connection and boosting resilience to far-right agitation. We have a history of planning these events in the communities that need them the most, for example in Bradford.

About the role
The Events Administrators (X2) will be assisting our Community Outreach Officer to deliver community events across the country in our target areas, at the end of May/beginning of June. This includes 4 confirmed events in Southport, Sunderland, Wigan and Port Talbot, with the potential for lighter-touch facilitation to support volunteer-run events in up to 5 more areas. 

This role will involve frequent travel to our target areas to meet with local partners. Willingness to work with a variety of stakeholders is important. The role will include liaising with local authorities, national and local organisations and grassroots community activists to deliver the events. An understanding that communities and community groups are the experts on their own needs is crucial – solutions should be developed with, not for, those most impacted.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Community Outreach Officer to develop and deliver from start to finish a number of community events in target areas across the country. 
• Help to identify and maintain strong working relationships with event contributors, ensuring a diverse range of local stakeholders are involved in organisation.
• Ensure all event logistics are handled professionally, on time, and within budget, including contributions from external partners and local community stakeholders.
• Act as the key point of contact for external suppliers and venues.

• Assist the Community Outreach Officer in proactively tracking and monitoring event expenditure and income.

Skills requirements

• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to discuss sensitive and emotive issues in tense environments.

About You

You are an experienced digital /IT change management professional with a proven ability to lead service delivery optimisation and system adoption projects. As an experienced professional with a proven track record in learning and development, you will be part of the GB-wide Learning Network of the Methodist Church, encouraging and resourcing life-long learning.

This role is aligned to two Methodist Districts, Chester & Stoke-on-Trent and Isle of Man, and covers a wide range of learning and development areas within the life of the church, aimed at supporting, encouraging and inspiring the church in living out ‘Our Calling: to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission’. The Learning Network works primarily with lay and ordained church leaders, equipping them as they in turn seek to equip all God’s people.
