THIS IS A FREELANCE POSITION, 2 - 3 DAYS A MONTH

This is an exciting opportunity for a an experienced finance professional with charity accounting level knowledge to support the SAT-7 UK Finance Department, ensuring that our financial processes are robust, supporting our month end sign off process and the annual financial audit process. The role would be a regular 2 - 3 days per month with additional days required during December, January and February to support the audit process.  Those applying should be based in the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the review and sign off of all financial transaction processes, ensuring controls and risk management procedures are in place and are adhered to by the Finance Officer.
• Ensure accounts are prepared on a full accruals basis and fixed assets are depreciated.
• Regularly review the charities fixed asset register.
• Responsible for the review and sign-off of monthly financial management reports, ensuring they are accurate and timely. Attending the monthly Accounts Review meetings with the Executive team.
• Ensuring the smooth running of the annual audit process and preparation of the annual statutory accounts. Assist the Finance Officer to respond to queries and deliver reports and supporting documents required by the Auditors.
• Prepare the Annual Return for the Charity Commission.
• Assist the Operations Director in the production of reports on year-to-date management accounts at Finance and General Purposes Committee (FGP) meetings and at meetings of the Board of Trustees.

What you’ll do​

As an Area Manager, your role is to increase our partner numbers and support engagement with our existing schools and colleges, helping them to make the most of the Unifrog platform. Excellent customer service is at the heart of what we do, and you will make sure that all interactions with Unifrog are positive and successful. 

You will cover your own area of the country - the Midlands and East Anglia region - with occasional travel to these locations (on average 1-2 days per week).

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Meeting with potential partners at schools and colleges (in person and via video call). You’ll demonstrate the Unifrog platform, convey our mission to level the playing field for students and look to secure their ongoing subscription.
• Supporting schools with constructing their long and short-term careers strategy, then reporting on the impact of the Unifrog platform each academic year.
• Maintaining outstanding relationships with existing partner schools, which includes  delivering remote and in-person training to ensure they make the most of the platform.
• Developing an excellent knowledge of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) within the UK and consulting with schools on how to support their students.
• Proactively working to foster a sense of community amongst our Unifrog partners and always thinking about how we can promote the sharing and embedding of Unifrog best practice across our partner schools.
• Achieving sky-high resubscription rates.
• Working collaboratively with Unifrog Account Managers to devise strategies for success with schools and colleges.

We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a Fundraising Officer to join our knowledgeable and caring team. 

The new Fundraising officer will join a small, friendly, but hardworking team who raise funds from a variety of sources including trust and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraisers and individual giving.

What you will need to succeed 

You will have a strong knowledge of fundraising and income generation, and you will play a major part in significantly increasing income growth. Reporting into the Fundraising Manager, you will be a motivated and talented Fundraising Officer who will help us grow our unrestricted income and expand our pool of donors.

You will be required to lead your own portfolio of work, researching and identifying potential new funders, submitting applications and pitching for partnerships and support, as well as building strong relationships with donors.

You should have demonstrable experience of working in a Fundraising role, with the ability to cover the whole spectrum of fundraising duties, thinking strategically and working operationally. 

Your base location is negotiable, but you will be expected to travel across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with overnight stays as required.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team as the E-Commerce Manager. 

In line with our ecommerce strategy, Sustrans has invested over the past years to increase sales through our e-commerce shop and now needs to find new approaches to maximise revenue. 

As the E-Commerce Manager, you will be responsible for maximising e-commerce revenue by optimising the martech stack, improving audience insights, product development/management and  promotion through digital and offline marketing channels.

• Providing support and advice to targeted existing larger scale rewilding initiatives. 

• Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders — including landowners and managers - in key potential rewilding landscapes and influencing them to integrate rewilding into their management plans.
