We are working with a small medical charity to find a new Trusts and Grants Manager to lead efforts to identify, research and apply for grants and nurture ongoing relationships with the grant-giving bodies.

This is initially a 12 month contract with the possibility to extend, it is a homebased role with flexible hours and days. The team meet in person once a month, in London or other locations. This role can be full or part time.

The Role
Lead Trusts activity for the charity, building on current activity and warm relationships.

Prepare a 2-year Grants and Trusts strategy in conjunction with the CEO, aligning with strategic objectives, events and projects.

Reserach potential funders, building a warm pipeline. Building relationships with the funders and writing compelling grant applications to raise c£250k a year.

Build and maintain relationships with grant giving organisations, progressing existing relationships and seeking to increase the size of donations.

Work closely with the Engagement Manager, who is the point of contact for corporate relationships.

The Candidate
Happy to work in a small team for a growing charity, wokring closely with the CEO to lead Trust activity.

Experience writing funding proposals and securing income from Trusts and Grants.

Experience preparing and monitoring quarterly budgets.

Ability to build long-term relationships with potential grant-givers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We expect to recruit from our members and from the community of those who stammer or those who support people who stammer (speech & language therapists, family and friends).

• Recruit and induct new volunteers to support our services, working with the Services Director and the Training & Outreach Lead. 
• Work with the service managers to review training and update training modules.
• Ensure there is appropriate training, support, supervision and acknowledgement for volunteers and ensure processes comply with the charity’s values
• Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
• Support and recruit volunteer community leaders for our groups and networks; work with them to aim for consistent quality across the groups experience and develop an online training programme for leaders.  Longer term, put a funding case together to support a training weekend for community leaders.
• Keep records on which community groups are active and identify areas of need and feedback mechanisms.
• Work with Content & Communications Lead to produce regular mailings and volunteer recruitment campaigns.
• Keep up to date with legislation, best practice and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
• Maintain the database of volunteers and ensure all volunteers are registered members.
• Manage budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of volunteer expenses.

This is a hybrid role, and all staff are expected to attend team meetings, held in London, every 6-8 weeks.

We are looking for a determined, skilled, proactive trusts fundraiser to join our small team in this newly created role to help stop children dying suddenly and without explanation.

Tragically, 1-2 seemingly healthy children die in the UK every fortnight, often going to sleep and never waking up. This incidence is unchanging. SUDC UK was founded in 2017 to raise awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), encourage and fund scientific research and offer support and advice to affected families.  We believe SUDC research should receive more attention and scientific investment and are inspired by efforts to impact SIDS (cot death), where there has been an 80% reduction in infant deaths in the past 30 years. We can do so much more for SUDC children and their families.

We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, experienced, and professionally registered nurse to evolve our support services and provide excellent, specialist care for families affected by Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).

SUDC UK has a small, warm, passionate and impactful team who currently support families facing the sudden death of a child between 1-18 years, with no clear explanation for their child’s death. 

Currently, the charity’s co-founder and CEO delivers services in collaboration with our affiliate organisation, the SUDC Foundation (based in the U.S). This new role will evolve SUDC UK’s direct support services by delivering an expanded, evidence-based SUDC UK pathway of exceptional care for registered families. 

The role will include providing 1-1 supportive zoom calls for information and guidance, case advocacy requiring collaboration and relationship building with professionals like Coroner’s officers and paediatricians, signposting, referrals and collaboration with other organisations, a family peer connection program, family events, service review and continuous improvement. 

This part-time role offers the chance to develop your social work skills within an established and supportive multi-disciplinary team (MDT). The position also includes flexible working options Monday to Friday, with ongoing support and training provided.

To be considered for this role, candidates should have at least three years' post-qualification experience working with vulnerable children or adults, and be registered with Social Work England (or equivalent). A full UK driving licence is required.

Main Duties:
The CF social worker will provide support to children with Cystic Fibrosis, their families, and carers, focusing on the social aspects of care. The service covers a large geographical area, including Teesside, Redcar and Cleveland, and Durham, with the role based at James Cook University Hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

• Attending outpatient clinic appointments, inpatient ward admissions, and conducting home visits to assess and follow up on community-based needs.
• Supporting the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis team in addressing the emotional, social, practical, and financial needs of children and families affected by CF.
• Collaborating closely with relevant social services and healthcare professionals, in line with legislation, professional standards, and policies.
• Assisting families with welfare rights, financial matters, housing, education, and the variable impacts of living with CF.
• Helping families secure appropriate disability benefits and ensuring access to necessary support services.

This is a key role within the Engagement Directorate at Blind Veterans UK as we are working through a new strategy which ensures we become data and insight led and put our audiences at the centre of all our communication. As well as leading on data selections, you will manage the insight planning and request project boards, working with the Insight Manager to respond to both ad-hoc insight requests and longer term insight projects.

• Manage the scheduling of delivering data selections to ensure there is clarity on what data selections are upcoming, to manage any potential clashes and to plan and prioritise the workload.
• Develop an excellent process and structure for delivering data selections that guarantees their consistency and accuracy.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure data selection briefs are completed correctly, definitions are clarified, and the final selection meets the criteria outlined in the brief.
• Work with the Insight Manager to identify insight-driven recommendations for campaign planning, and to ensure testing within data selections is valid and robust.
• Attend end of campaign meetings, and lead on the presentation of results and test outcomes and feedback on process improvements.
• Work with the Insight Manager to drive forward innovations in data selections, such as using propensity models to identify the right supporters to communicate with.
• Continually seek to improve the data selection process with the aim of automating and streamlining to improve the accuracy of selections.
• Lead on the implementation of a campaign planning process focussed on driving improvement in selection results through data-informed decision-making.
• Play a leading role in the planning of the calendar to manage communication activities.
• Work with the Insight Manager and Data Management functions to ensure the necessary data is being captured and is accurate, to enable campaign analysis to be conducted.
• Work with 3rd parties to ensure the timely and secure transfer of data selection files.
• Build and monitor supporter journeys for all data cohorts, improving the process based on findings.
• Send email communications, including testing and implementation of dynamic content.
• Manage the insight request project boards, assist in responding to ad-hoc insight requests and work with the Insight Manager on larger insight projects.

We are looking for a dedicated Counselling Team Leader to join our Eye Care Support Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, time-limited counselling and emotional support over the telephone and online. You will also lead and manage a team of counsellors and volunteer counsellors, ensuring they deliver exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide telephone and online counselling to clients affected by sight loss, adhering to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework.
• Manage and support Sight Loss Team Counsellors, including recruitment and line management.
• Offer accurate and accessible information to clients about available services, empowering them to make informed decisions.
• Develop and improve the range and quality of information regarding emotional support and counselling services.
• Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring referral waiting times are well managed.
• Develop links with other professionals and respond to enquiries about emotional support services.
• Lead the development and support of our volunteer counsellors, including recruitment and regular support.
• Deliver training and workshops to other professionals.
• Participate in service development, monitoring, and evaluation.

Qualifications Required:

• A recognised 3-year Diploma level Counselling qualification or equivalent.
• Registration on a PSA recognised register. Membership of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and adherence to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice or equivalent with another recognised professional body.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Knowledge of a range of counselling approaches and types of service.
• Experience in delivering effective telephone and online counselling within a time-limited framework.
• Experience in managing counsellors and volunteer counsellors within an organisational setting.
• Experience in maintaining information systems that provide relevant and accurate information.

•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets 

•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. You will design and deliver paid advertising campaigns and monitor, respond, share, engage, comment on posts, according to our guidelines and with responsibility for reputation management
